MobiLinc Lite for Android
This is not a just a lead into an expensive app but high price monthly subcription. After buying the expensive pro version 30 days later you get disconnected unless you sign up for high priced subscription service. I simply use Universal Devices built in Web control with browser on my android with full control not partial like Mobilinc. Don't buy unless you are ready to pay monthly or yearly subscription.
Hey devs, here's a thought: if you're going to limit me to 5 days, full functionality is warranted. Omitting the tasker plugin (the only reason to pay $20 over free alternatives) makes this useless. Your business model for this seems short-sighted.
I can't use Mobilinc because I can not pay the $1 for the portal module. They only accept PayPal. Not going to happen.
Just not enough time to test this. Not sure if I need to spend $20. Little steep but might be worth it.
Trial lasted only 1 day. App couldn't even find my ISY so I was never able to actually try it. Installed Agave, work first try with my ISY.
The app sees my ISY994 on startup, but displays an unknown error popup. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and now it says the trial period has expired. I give up.
Never worked for me
Didn't have enough time to evaluate this before the pathetically small evaluation time ran out. Not really a "Lite" application, more like a really short trial app. Too bad.
App is meh, it works but could be a lot better. $20 price tag is way, way too much, even more if you have multiple devices and users; app purchases costs can quickly double the whole system install price. Compared to Smarthome's offerings, the ISY is good, but otherwise its only OK.
Works but is a year behind the iPhone version. Seriously needs upgrades.
First off, I thought it was very clear that this was a time limited trial. The app provides basic functionality to control insteon devices but the user experience needs to improve. I really like the tasker integration. The biggest downside is the cost. I understand that this is not an app where they would expect millions of downloads but it doesn't have the polish you would expect for the current asking price. I've been torn on purchasing the full app since I switched to Andriod in 2013, although it certainly performs better now. If price is not a concern, this app will fit the need.
Read all about this app on their own website so decided to try it out (5 day trial). Accidentally mistyped my password for accessing Smartlinc controller so App produced error. Could not correct password. No options to reset. Finally uninstalled it and then reinstalled ... and got the "Free Trial Over" message. An impossible loop. Had to uninstall from my Galaxy Tab 2.7. Very sad. Will go back to Insteon App (which works perfectly with all my devices including PC and Google TV) and continue trying to find out how to program a dim command for a scene.
Installed on my Razr Maxx, Opened it and it said connection needed setup, Closed it and reopened it and it just says The trial period has expired. Sucks because I really wanted to try it. Insteon's program sucks with my X10 modules.
It does not work like what it says and I tried to set up the setting and it doesn't work Don't waste your time with this app
90% There - Great app
Like someone already mention : for the same price as the IOS version, we get less features? When I mentioned it on there support forum that I'll buy it when it has the same features my post got deleted. Why. OH and 5 days demo, come on, you better be ready to test it right after install because 5 days comes FAST.
This app should be called 'mobilinc demo' not 'mobilinc lite'. It's a useless 5 day trial!
This application apparently does not connect to an ISY without having an account with mobilinc. If I try to tell it to connect to an ISY lighting controller, the application simply crashes and restarts. I'm happy to pay for good working software, but I will not pay for a useless "cloud" account. Uninstalled.
The application and service function very well. It is a work in progress, with major features just added (Tasker integration) and undoubtedly more on the way.
Auto-detected everything, was a snap to use. Thanks for a great app
This is a 5 day DEMO of the MobilLinc Pro app. Also, if you want to purchase MobiLinc Pro, do it from their website, not the play store. When you purchase from the website, you get 5 licenses.
Confusing user interface, poor icons, useless icon picker. Poor widget customizability. Expires in two days, not in 5 as the store says.
After the Smartlinc is successfully recognized, the sync fails. Error: "Unknown Response received from Smartlinc." (Samsung Galaxy 10.1)
Tried to use - it said my e valuation period is over. Since I got zero use I give zero stars!
So for the same price as the IOS version, we get less features?
I installed this and when I opened it, it told me the connection needed to be setup and then closed itself. When I reopened, it said the trial period has expired. This all happened within 1 minute. I'm going to need more than a minute to try this app before I even consider buying the real one
Installed it. Worked for a bit fine, then stopped. Uninstalled. When I tried to install again, trial period was expired... all within 30mins
Still not a perfect app, but very close and the best we have tried. I just installed this a few hours ago, and so far it is working great and updates the status pretty fast, most of the time.
Definitely better than the mobilinc client. Steep price but understandable considering the niche.
Finds and configures everything on SmartLinc. Brilliant and a must have for SL owners. Quicker than server.
Finally MobiLinc on Android!
Awful. Can't even try it.
Can't give it a zero... Trial period lasted 1 second. Opened app started logging in and pow trial expired. Fix it, you really think I'd buy the 20$ when the trial just shows me how well your app closes?
I'm trying to use Insteon devices to bring my home into the future without taking my phone into the past. I understand that Tasker integration is this application's strong suit, but looking at this app is painful. I seriously can't imagine myself turning on and off devices with this regularly.
Installed it, put in my name and password, it said it synced everything and gave me no way to acknowledge the dialog. I hit back, and it took me out of the app. When I went back in, it said the trial period had expired. So much for 48 hours...
Upon opening the app before I could even find how to add a device it brought up the trail ended screen and said I had to pay for the pro version. Not a good way to entice users to pay for the full version.
Horrible outdated interface makes this application difficult to navigate and makes you wish you were blind.
Same issue here... Downloaded the app, it found my insteon product right away and then said the 48 hour trial period had expired. Oh well.
