WakeScope

WakeScope는 안드로이드 기반 스마트폰 내, 잘못된 WakeLock의 사용 사례를 자동으로 탐지하고 이를 관리해 주는 어플리케이션 입니다.

WakeLock은 안드로이드 개발자가 스마트폰의 sleep 모드 진입없이 항상 awake 상태를 유지토록 하기 위해 사용하는 API 입니다. 예를 들어, 뮤직 플레이어 같은 경우 음악을 재생하고 있을때 스마트폰이 sleep 모드로 진입하게 되면 스마트폰 내 모든 기능이 멈춰버려서 음악 재생이 멈춰버리게 됩니다. 따라서 해당 뮤직 플레이어 개발자는 음악이 재생되는 동안에는 스마트폰이 sleep 모드로 진입 하지 못하도록 하기 위해 WakeLock을 사용하게 됩니다.

따라서 WakeScope는 안드로이드 개발자로 부터 부주의한 WakeLock 사용 (WakeLock anomaly) 을 runtime에 탐지하여 이를 관리해 주는 목적으로 제작된 어플리케이션 입니다. 즉, 해제되지 않은 WakeLock을 runtime에 탐지하고 이를 해결하여 해당 WakeLock 으로 인해 낭비될 수 있는 배터리를 절약하게 됩니다.

WakeScope가 제공하는 기능은 아래와 같습니다.


(1) WakeScope 실시간 Monitor
