Metal Detector

This is a very lightweight app that works as a metal detector using your Android device's magnetic sensor. It's very simple to use, just launch it and it will show on screen current magnetic field detected, measured in µT, which is a standard unit. It also keeps records for maximum and minimum µT measured and shows info about the sensor itself.

Earth magnetic field is on average 50µT, so a value higher indicates presence of a magnetic field of some kind, probably originated by the presence of metal, a magnet or an operating electronic device. Please note that some metals like aluminium are not magnetic and therefore won't be detected by this app.

Please beware that the data accuracy depends completely of device magnetic sensor and because of that values shown should be taken only as indicative. For professional uses it is better to use a standardized and calibrated sensor.
