Eratosthenes Reference Manager for Android
This app has great potential, but at the moment it is too clunky and too buggy to be useful for me.
Not working at all.keep alter no network connection, while network works fine.
Bibdesk format compatibility works perfectly with the new attached file format. Layout is beautiful and functional.
I really want to love this app, and I still use it a lot, but I have reported a number of bugs and crashes that have gone unanswered. These issues make Eratosthenes quite frustrating to use. I would gladly help fix them, as well as continue to pay for the app, if the source were open.
No longer being supported DON'T BUY
... I try to add an attachment to an entry. And often it just stays forever "loading entries" until I restart it (even though the library has now less than 20 items). Wasted money.
Seems to stay at v0.79 forever.. This has been a good app. It would be really helpful if Eratosthenes can support the "zotero RDF" format. Please support sub-groups for Jabref also.
This is my current setup using the Zotfile and Autoexport plugins in Zotero
One problem, no access for SD, but it looks like general problem of kit Kat android. Any chance to fix it? Edited: I can read from SD but writing is not possible. I guess I will have to root my tablet.
Thanks for this. I've tried Zotero and Mendeley, but they didn't to suit my particular use case. I wanted to be able to import from Google scholar and get the pdf automatically, and I wanted to be able to read them and then have them disappear from my reading list. Dropbox integration sealed the deal. This is a very slick app.
The main thing missing is automatic conversion of pdf file paths. Initial import is a slow with my huge bibtex database, but after that it seems to run smoothly.
Dropbox integration really makes this app shine as a ref manager, along with the easy to use interface. My only criticism was the lack of a barcode scanner, which has been added with the latest version! Keep up the good work!
Hopefully it can get faster.
The App still has a few rough edges, but it is already very useful. The author responds incredibly fast to bug reports. Recommended!
An excellent, good quality app for supporting research. It integrates really well with the equally excellent Bibdesk on the mac. Absolutely worth it.
This is an easy to use and well designed app for managing references on Android. I use it in combination with JabRef on my laptop and the two programs are nicely compatible with each other. For example, the JabRef compatibility mode in this app can use the same type of field for linking entries to PDF files. The developer is actively improving the software and fixes bugs promptly when they arise. I highly recommend this app for anyone who uses an Android tablet as part of their workflow in academic reading and writing. One useful tip is to use DropSync, another app, to synchronize the linked PDFs between a laptop and a tablet.
This app does everything I want it to do - I more that I haven't even figured out yet. It even knows where my attached (according to file paths for my main-rig's file tree layout) files are - like magic! MAGIC!?!!!
This app just keeps getting better & better. Major kudos to the dev (Matthew) for the effort he's putting in to it. This is now a far better Bibtex app than RefMaster - and is improving all the time. Top!
One click from the Google Scholar website (on the "Import into Bib Tex" link) loads the bib file and pdf into my library. And one more click syncs across my devices with Dropbox. Fantastic!
Bibdesk format compatibility works perfectly with the new attached file format. Layout is beautiful and functional.
Best bibtex program for Android.

This is a powerful app. I'm now able to sync my Jabref database to the phone and then access references and linked files using this app. A bit quirky but once you get used to it is fine. Slight niggle is that you have to do a manual database reload to ensure it is kept in sync.
