PD Engine plugin for Android
Everyone on here complaining about this extra app should go look at BK Package Disabler"s reviews. It broke just like PDP but it's STILL BROKEN. At least policedeveloper found a fix. GOOD WORK!!
PEOPLE! THIS APP NEEDS ADMIN TO DISABLE THE PACKAGES.... IT IS LEGIT! IT IS IN PART OF THE NEW SECURITY PATCH LAUNCHED EARLIER THIS MONTH! QUIT BITCHING! THEY AGREE NOT TO SELL YOU DIRTY PICS AND VIDEOS!
This program was necessary to circumvent SAMSUNG'S TARGETED ATTACK AGAINST THE HOST PROGRAM PDP. Samsung released a "hotfix" which disabled "exploits" used by pdp in order to break the program and force their crapware down our throats. Samsung is actively trying to kill off these types of programs, so the developers MUST continue using alternative methods to keep their code functioning. Please understand this. It isn't a developers fault when Samsung engages in software warfare, the developer has to fight back. Viva the revolution!
Don't you think you should have let your users take a backup of their disabled apps before forcing this upon them? It also disabled my keyboard upon opening, who knows what else it messed with... this could have been done any other way and it would have probably been better than this.
I don't normally write reviews but I am now. This extra program for PDP is due to an update released that broke its functionality, Adhell now needs Device Admin as well. Use it without doubt. Awesome fix!
I don't see anything invasive about the permissions this requires. But it was annoying to have to re-enable all of the apps that I previously disabled. The update should have made a backup of the disabled list of apps automatically.
This is needed now in order for Package Disabler Pro to work. There were system updates for Android pushed out to many recently and this app is now required for PDP. That's all it is. If you installed PDP you already handed over admin permissions on your phone, so I really don't know what the big deal is. So many of you willingly hand over your life details to Facebook. Why is this any different? Get over it. This still beats the having to root your phone, doesn't it? I'd certainly rather install this vs. rooting or trying to live with the battery sucking bloatware on this Galaxy S7.
I didnt have to do this last time I had the disabler, so im curious. however, the disabler worked great for me before, and the developer actually replied to my email within hours. so I give them the benefit of the doubt.
The dev handled this update poorly by not communicating with the users. Now we have all the information (samsung is cracking down on package disablers) it makes perfect sense, and other package disablers are also splitting into 2 apps to circumvent this.
Thank you for the timely update, but please don't ask us to enable unknown sources as a stopgap. PDP is working again today with this package. In case people are wondering, Google or Samsung probably did something that broke PDP. The developer tried to push out an update last night before it could get approved by the Play Store. The app management permissions are completely legitimate. When you install an app that disables other apps, it needs your permission to do so. If that's not okay with you, why are you installing it?
This is now necessary. People think it's like a virus or something, but it's really a workaround to stop oems from disabling app disablers.
I can see the need for the dev to get creative upon Samsung's assault on package disabling apps. I have no problems with the solution of this plugin and the required permissions, it had to be done. It would have been nice if the dev could have simply added more info to the description for the plugin as to why it was suddenly required however. Customers would have then understood what was happening. Better communication required for your paying customers PLEASE dev!! Unfortunately, this app now works on one of my Samsung Galaxy devices but not another (both 6.0.1). My 2nd device gets caught in a rapidly cycling loop apparently with the KLMS Agent which I can't get to disable if the app won't actually load. It's still only 50% effective and needs more work. Will happily increase my rating back to 5* when it's back to 100%. It's a shame, a useful highly rated app has absolutely plummeted in it's effectiveness and ratings thanks to Samsung. Hope dev fixes these issues soon before losing thousands of customers!!
It enables all the apps so you gotta go back and figure what you had disabled. The RAM doesn't fluctuate after you've disabled the app. The TouchWiz launcher was disabled. Also there were 3 or 4 apps that were already disabled and I've never seen the apps before!... Update: ram display working now
Once Upon A Time, PDP was the very best. Since November 2016, PDP has become less effective with each new update. I PREDICT PDP's DAYS ARE NUMBERED.
Guys, this patch is NECESSARY due to increased security from Android patches... Stop freaking out over it being a virus. Thank you for all of your hard work, Developers!
WHY? It broke my list of disabled apps and apparently some of them keep disabling themselves now even though I have reenabled them (e.g. android WebView).
After installing the pdp engine failed to activate. Tried multiple times no success. No permission issue
Works great and it might be a next step for the app. The devs may want to extend the app to other devices as well and maybe the engine would be different so they might need a HTC one, a Samsung or an Oppo one. Similar with the Teamviewer modules that are for each major phone brand. That will make the app footprint smaller cause you won't have a BIG engine for every phone, instead you'll have just the specific one for yours. And it'll be easier to debug also. There are multiple reasons WHY they could have done this but you just resist to progress and think selfish. It's not only YOU on this planet remember! If it was, we would still communicate through smoke not via smartphones
Broke package disabler. Package Disabler now will not start. PD WAS a fantastic program.
Looks like Samsung broke your app, but it works again. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Absolutely ridiculous I need 2 apps to do 1 app job. I'm just going to root my device and uninstall both this and package disabler. To the ones complaining about people complaining about this extra app
There are many programs that I did not want running yet this update enabled them all screw the developer
What a joke pay for an app it breaks so the devs instead of fixing the app they make another what happens when this breaks will they make another app and call it a plugin
Is sprint and suxc doing the rapist thing all companies do where customers say no to something and they roofie your phone to rape you with rapeware?
Hate the fact it's a separate app, but it supposedly fixes package disabler, so thank you, to avoid more confusion however, id work with the developer of package disabler to implement it into theirs
What the hell is this? If you're going to foist this on us why not at least have a decent description of what it is and why it exists? So now I have to go and redisable everything? Lame!
Helping to boost the rating up. People don't understand the need for the new plugin and changes. Keep up the great work!
App used to work fine then a forced update broke it, lost my list of disabled apps, which allowed harmful att malware to run.
After installing, I run it and click activate and get error version=2.3 code=4, uninstall or retry.
pdp engine just loops in a flashing screen (opening and closing activity 10 times a second) makes using app useless
Well, this PD just can't be helped because of samsung circumtance, but at least dev should explain, n also what is with that all permission?
Talk about ruining a great app. This app no longer works for me. Horrible implementation...
I still don't like having to use this app in order to use another app that I didn't have to in the past however it works perfectly fine on my Samsung Galaxy S8+ & Samsung galaxy Tab S3.
Can you provide more information on why this is needed? I am assuming it has to do with licensing, but I'm not sure why you need a second application to handle it and why it has to be activated.
I was skeptical at first but I see why it's necessary now. Thanks for keeping up the good fight.
It's stupid how yo7 have to have a extra app for this app, I wish I never brought this app now
The fact the update wiped any history of blocked apps and you didn't warn users of this warrants one star.
The irony to install two apps to disable apps it amazing. What bloatware bull is this. Over this developer.
App crashed my phone looking for another means to disable my bloatware

Fantastic. Terrific App. Why so many negative reviews ? I run Nougat on an S7 edge and it works great. I think many of you's have set up your devices incorrectly by disabling apps that handshake. Competent setup is pertinent. Don't guess your setup. Most users are convinced they're experts, sadly too few are. Research and think before you midify crucial settings.
