Virtual Dyno is a personal dyno software package that runs on Android 2.2 or higher. With Virtual Dyno you can play "what if" with your engine or chassis setup without buying the parts first. Virtual Dyno is designed to produce as close to "real world" results as possible, but it is also designed to be pessimistic in the numbers that it produces. That means that things like 1/4 mile times should be realistic enough to be achieved by an experienced driver familiar with the car.

We have made every attempt to make Virtual Dyno produce numbers that you can not only achieve, but exceed. Not all variables can be estimated like this, so weather and track conditions can make a huge difference in actual results. Altitude also plays a role in the results. Virtual Dyno is calibrated for an altitude of 900 ft. above sea level, and an atmospheric pressure of 14.7.

Virtual Dyno allows you to enter specifications about a particular engine/vehicle combination and calculates all needed information so that you can see what kind of performance to expect. Virtual Dyno shows you true compression, engine CFM, total HP, NET HP, peak torque @ RPM, 1/4 mile performance, 60 foot times, and more. This version is based on our Virtual Dyno Pro software that has been used by machine shops and engine builders since 1995 to help their customers make informed choices before buying parts.

Virtual Dyno allows you to play "what if" with any of the specs for a combination, to see how it effects the outcome. It is very accurate, and handles Nitrous Oxide kits and turbo or superchargers with ease.

You can load engines from the supplied database, save new engines to the database, load and save files to the internal SD card, and even send your creations to a friend as a Virtual Dyno file so they can play with the file on their copy of Virtual Dyno. You can also send the file as a printable vehicle report to any computer on the internet to be viewed or printed easily.

You don't need to be an engineer to work with Virtual Dyno. You will need to know critical information about your engine and car, but all of those figures can be found in manuals and repair guides. You will also need your cam card if you have changed cam shafts. All of the specs are a matter of looking them up in manuals that you probably already have. Virtual Dyno also comes with a database of pre-defined engines so you can just pick an engine and then make changes to match your own engine.

Even if you don't build cars for a living, it's nice to know how a planned change on your favorite ride will turn out. You can also do the same for your friends, or even the competition if you can get them to brag a bit!

Virtual Dyno requires a device with screen resolution of 480x320 or higher to run, and fully supports large tablets.

I like this app and it works for several engines, but engine rpm and torque curve is too strongly linked to displacement/# of cylinders. HP is a bit inflated on the 87-93 5.0 and no amount of adjusting to the head/cam specs can bring it down. You can imagine how far off it was when I tried to enter a 4.9 I6 lol

O70%
by O####:

It would be cool if there was a thing that generated a torquecurve so we know where most of the power comes from and where it drops off.

Y70%
by Y####:

Ohh look finally dynamic compression,,, maybe some sort of graphing and a way to limit rpm as usual best program on android for what it does, undefeated after all these years.

Y70%

Fun way to try different combos. Good way to see how much difference certain changes to your engine will make. Would like to see graph.

X70%
by X####:

Hey guys I can't put in the duration or a few other things the input changes and it won't scroll down to let me type in correct stats

X70%
by X####:

Cam lift at. 050 lift is a bit off but otherwise pretty accurate in determining base lines. Maybe not a true dyno and could use a few tweaks for better accuracy but for $1.50 you cant find a better program for the price.

I'de like to see dynamic compression ratio and cylinder pressure. maybe some sort of graphing and a way to limit rpm as usual best program on android for what it does

Need a diesel fuel option, only reason why it's 4 star. Only one I've found that dose what this one dose tho.

R70%

Everything seems to be pretty solid. Only add on I would suggest is dynamic compression ratio for those that have degree'd in their camshaft. Other than that, it's pretty awesome!!

M70%

Seriously? Select engines only, and most are unreasonable setup. U want a good program go get virtual engine dyno on your computer and compare. Has all combustion engines, not just the top three.

Y70%
by Y####:

I'm really enjoying this!!! Its an awesome time killer for a gear head! The only thing I feel like that would make it better is some preprogrammed heads and cams! Also would like to see 1/8th mile added in too. Other than that NICE JOB!!!

Hey jem good to see you're back into developing this app. Sorry to hear about your wife in you're last update.

Y70%
by Y####:

App is good gives a lot of info provided you enter components correctly. Would be a five star for me except my 1/4 mile ET is stuck 13.64 @ 99.01 mph no matter how much HP or motor car combo. Other than that solid. Fix this and five stars from me.

But could be better. I see you have the old school Chevy's, fords, and Mopar and a few tuners but... What about the new? The Chevy LS family of v8's and hate to say it but the ford triton v8's and the newer dodge's? The old school engines maybe more readily available but this works as a great tool to go ahead and find what possibilities you might have with your current vehicle. I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3 and it would be nice to have the different preloads for the rest of the the LS blocks.

Useful tool to have in your pocket, seems quite accurate and a great way to dream when stuck almost anywhere

Y70%
by Y####:

I have a few questions about it though. Does it average the power loss from the crank to the tires? And are you ever going to add the Mopar 318 and 360 1992 and up for the rams?

Y70%
by Y####:

Would be nice to have other options like intake runner size on heads

C70%

Would like to see a larger vehicle database. As the info for my engine isn't easy to find.

I do love this app yet i may be a bit of a perfectionist but i would like to see more from this already great app such as AFR control within the allowed range for each fuel type like 15.7 to 11.5 for gasoline 11.2 to 7.1 for ethanol(e100/?e85?) 6.7 to 4.5 for methanol and 2.6 to 0.8 for nitromethane also new fuel types like butanol 13.8~8.9 isopropanol 12.9~7.6 and possibly a custom fuel option using defined fuel parts (the information is easy to get) also the safe octane could still show even when using a fuel other than gasoline with an AFR affected result. However the biggest thing bothering me is the intake types they all seem a fixed flow rather than scaling with the number of cylinders or size of the engine for example i setup a really good engine for instance a four cylinder of 2.5Litre capacity and then want to model the effective output of a V8 using the same cylinder dimensions just twice as many cylinders yet my top end rpm goes down considerably when it shouldnt the intake should scale with the change not be same choking the V8 with the same intake flow as the four banger of identical per cylinder displacement just different quantity of cylinders total plz fix this

Wish the program had inputs reguarding intake runner CA and Runner Length. Tri-Y header would be nice too.

Very good app. Lots of options. Probably the best app of its kind. Would like to see piston speed as well as more advanced options for users that understand it all could use (ex. Option to put in actual weights of pistons, rods, etc) to help make a more accurate analysis. Also, possibly options to have dual cam specs when "VVT" is selected.

Would love to see e85 fuel supported because of the greater cooling affect and the different btu rating when compared to gasoline.

Not bad but the cam duration converter is way off. To help you need to ad manual settings for int and exh open and closed with valve overlap.

Great app and excellent support! After my phone crashed from a game I was playing, I had to do a factory reset. It took a couple of days, but they got everything working perfect! I love this app!

After the recent fixes for Galaxy Nexus and the addition of lobe center line and head cfm, this app is the simply one of the coolest apps on the market bar none. Replaces ALL compression calculators and is the best HP calculator there is.

It really needs the option to input what your heads flow at .100 - .700 lift. It can't be accurate without it.

Screen ratio does not work on Ice cream Sandwich for Galaxy Nexus. Cannot access came center line state therefore cannot get accurate reading. Otherwise very good, fun to use app.
