RTMP Camera kicks serious ass. I was in need of a live streaming app to broadcast to my own servers from my phone and thought I would have to build my own. But thankfully I discovered RTMP Camera. Pair this app with OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) on desktop and YouTube live and you can essentially produce television quality content with a few phones and a laptop or two!

Great concept if it had worked, but it does not want to connect to the RTMP server. If it somehow connects, it casts an ArrayIndexOutOfBounds error and cancels the stream. Tested this against NGINX with nginx-rtmp-module. Other apps have no problems streaming to the same server. Strangely, and fortunately, the two other apps, RTP Camera and RTSP Camera Server work well!

Runs great. Haven't had a glitch yet on the Motorola Droid MAXX 2 running Android 6.0.1 but on my Lenovo tablet it seems to think I have no camera. Frustrating...found another App for my tablet will keep this one on my phone for now.

Great software, straightforward, and the most in-depth support of video settings out of any apps that I've found for RTMP-based streaming (this can use the real-time HDR of recent Samsung phones!!). However, I can't say the same for audio. Audio bitrate seems to be fully dependent on whether you are mono/stereo and the sampling rate. In stereo/44.1kHz, it will be a staggering ~520kbps, which rules this app out for any usage over cellular unless you drop down to mono and 22.1kHz, in which case you get a much more reasonable 132kbps. The mono/stereo setting doesn't work anyway and the app only ever uses the bottom-facing mic of any phone I could try it out. Would love to see these issues fixed! A slightly better UI would also be welcome so that you don't have to scroll down the standard huge menus, and some sort of adaptive bitrate feature might also be a good addition when streaming over cellular. Besides this, I can only commend the developer(s) for their great work and encourage you to try this app.

I thought Larix Broadcaster was best out of the ones i tried a few months ago, this app is even better! Few suggestions for improvements: Not sure if the app already has a buffer in the background so that if network connection is not fast enough, it keeps the packets in buffer. Related to the above, have Variable Bit Rate so that if the buffer sizes keeps increasing, lower the bit rate as the connection cannot cope with the higher bit rate. Have an option to keep the screen on while its broadcasting. Maybe an indication of connection/packet drops so that we know if connection is bad or not fast enough.

*Update: This is the best RTMP camera app available. It's the only app that has H264 coding with a lot of features, which apps that have H264 coding don't have many features. The suggestions below and many more features were added.* Very nice app. It would be great if there was a custom 16:9 video resolution option and if there was an auto/manual focus option. A bitrate option would also be great. Thank you.
