You need to manually do the export in SP-mode mail every time you want to backup your emails, so the scheduled automatic backup function is practically useless. It also doesn't do a proper check for duplicates, so you have to ensure that you clean up the export folder after a backup. When doing another export you also have to ensure that only new mails get exported, or you get duplicates again. The easiest way to deal with this is to either wipe your gmail inbox/label prior to every backup, or to wipe the SP-mode inbox after export. The former is probably better, since at least then you can leave the exported emails in the folder and can put the SD card in another phone for easy import. It does what it claims: backing up emails and SMS to gmail, but it requires too much user interaction for it to be a good way to guard against the possibility of a broken or stolen phone.
