PLAYBULB X for Android
IS THERE ANYONE READING THESE COMMENTS? WE NEED FIXES AND CHANGES TO THE APP AND THE LAMP FIRMWARE! Guys, you're SERIOUSLY lagging behind. The app hasn't changed a bit - it is baaaad. There is still no api, no integration with other apps or the web whatsoever. The candle is good, the bulb is ok. The app still very bad. I would seriously discourage anyone to support future projects as you promised updates and there were none at all.
Just junk. Don't buy the bulb as it's just a waste of money and the app is useless. It doesn't detect it most of the time and when it does it either disconnects or it stays connected but none of the options seem to be working. Not even the dimming . Overpriced junk!!
Every time app is launched it makes me go through tutorial let's me connect to my two rainbows but as soon as I click the drop down button to actually play with the bulbs the app shuts down. Relaunch the app and it starts all over again. Would love to change colors and be able to use the product I paid for.
Absolute garbage. Had my previous bulb exchanged under warranty because I suspected the connectivity issues I was seeing in the app were an issue with the hardware, but nope, the replacement bulb still never shows up properly in the app. Same issue on iOS, so it's not just Android. Essentially, the bulb is a glorified LED light with such a substandard app. Get it together Mipow.
Timer keeps randomly shutting off and bulb just turns on throughout the day or night since the "fine tune update" worked fine for me before this. Tried a reinstall, now it's worse, keeps going through tutorial or disconnecting.
I don't know what happened to this app. A few months ago the app no longer communicates with the bulb. When the bulb is selected from the list of available devices, the app will crash shortly thereafter. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app doesn't fix the issue.
TIMER works great now! Request user confirm to proceed the operation at SETTING. It avoid the mistake touch, felt respect also.
I can no longer connect to the playbulb. As soo, as I do the app crashes and I have to start from square one. We need an update. The candle just goes through the RGB mode and is very annoying.
My playbulb speaker doesn't connect to my samsung galaxy s8. I can only control the light color. But not the speaker i need help!
I love bulb automation. Love it. Timer great. However timer resets after several uses. Have to resave each timer event all over.
The app only flashes the bulb to connect then disappears. Total trash. The bulb is nice, if the app worked it would be great.
Connection drops frequently. Randomly stops responding to commands. Some strings of lights will respond while others won't. Tech support is very unhelpful!
This app is a joke. After about two weeks of it working it refuses to find the bulb to connect to.
As everyone here... I can't see my bulb in the app. I'm paired to the bulb but the app don't shows to me so i can't do anything. Fix it, please :/
I would say how I feel about this app. However, most of the other reviews speak for me.
Used to work but now when I go into the app to control the light it doesn't work and crashes

I cant connect my 6 candles at once, they dont care. Not convenient to use so i never use them. They eat batteries also
Rarely updated, and when they do it just crashes repeatedly and won't recognize your devices until they put another update out a few days later.
Horrible app, looks like they took no effort to make a decent application that is able operate there products. If you want to lose customers fast, this is how you do it.
New version killed the timer. You should take it back and make a option permanently timing. Thank you.

Guys i think i figured out how to reconnect the lamp after not finding it for awhile. Lamp gets too hot. Let it rest for 20 min or cool it somehow. It worked for me a bunch of times. Otherwise not so good lamb and s*itty app. Cant believe they don't fix it and i think it's hardware problem
No regrets buying the playbulb Sphere, however the app really could use an update. Aesthetically, it looks like it was made by a child, the UI is choppy, and the features don't work as good as they could (the shake feature would be great if it worked with the screen off, but for some insane reason it doesn't. The feature I was most looking forward to was the programmable wake-up time with gradual brightening, but it simply clicks on one brightness. This should be very simple to program. The light itself is beautiful, but it's unfortunate it has to be so fragile; really scratched as well as broken. So far it seems to last for about 4 hours on a charge. As is, it's definitely totally worth it if you get it on sale, otherwise still a neat gadget with a few design and programming flaws. The future success of this company will hinge upon the frequency and quality of app update content; particularly the aforementioned fade-in "sunrise" wake feature. I would consider buying other lighting products from this company (especially if they make them out of a more durable material, and give the app a major overhaul).
It works fine on my Asus zenfon 5, zenfone 2, nexus 7 tablet but on my new Samsung A7 it does not connect to the bulb over Bluetooth. It sees the bulb briefly for 3-4 times flashing in succession but fails to connect and then the bulb disappears from the item list in the app completely. The bulb appears in Bluetooth pairing devices without issue. I have about half dozen Bluetooth devices that connect to the Samsung a7 without issue, only the PLAYBULB x app has issues.
Works great with my comet. Wish there were more features like play along with music or something. EDIT: I'm experiencing a bit more stress lately, with the Comit not connecting to the app quickly, even when right beside it.
Have to refresh multiple times for it to find my lightbulbs every time I open the app. Will not auto reconnect when it finds the bulbs. Does not turn back on to last colour used.
Needs more work by tech as poor bthooth response on 3 different devices takes several try to connect sees it then not then dose then not maybe make app more sense sensitive to retry on connect well maybe the bt receiver can understand the battery operated one a conservation thing but not ac operated ones odd? And for the price should at least include a cord and or power supply
Have to click on it a bunch of times to get it to finally work. And if the light is left on for an hour or so you need to manually turn the light off and on again if you want to change colors.
when it works it works great, but when it disconnects it's IMPOSSIBLE to get it connected again. It's been days and it STILL refuses to connect, no matter how much I unplugg or reconnect it, it's just frustrating.
Every second update app gets broken for reconnecting to lights. It's frustrating as can be. I've tried uninstall, everything and customer service is not helpful.
Spent like $30 on a playbulb rainbow when it was on sale at best buy. Has 1 year warranty. Bulb crapped out after less than 1 month and was not heavily used. The app itself was kinda crap compared to other ones ive seen for the hue lights and was hard to actually select a colour you want you should be able to zoom intp the colour wheel or something. It is now a PITA to replace it under warranty i may have to go to best buy argue with them say the product is crap and they will probably make me return to manu
It doesn't recognize the devices. I need to restart it several times before I can finally use it. Bulb is completly useless without a working app.
Love the technology to Colors the dimming the the affects everything about it especially to the remote option through Bluetooth on your cell phone controlling the lights wish it was a little little bit cheaper so I could cheap legal light up my parents 250 yard driveway and steps up to the house.
Colour is horribly inaccurate and hard to adjust, making the candle a waste of money and the app useless if you actually care about what colour the device emits.
Needs auto connect, including the widget because u can only use it when the app is on.. Which is dumb

Ergänzung 26.5.2017 Alles immer noch buggy. App verbindet nur sporadisch mit Playbulb Gardens. 6 Lampen wurden wegen Defekte bereits ersetzt. Also 50% Rücklauf!! Die ersetzten Lampen haben leichte Gebrauchsspuren, also vermutlich auch schon reparierte Rückläufer. Lampen mit Android App aus meiner Sicht unbrauchbar. Besser in Z.b. Philips hue investieren. Bleib nach neuem Update immer noch auf einem Stern. Group Mode geht immer noch nicht!!!!!!!!! Macht ihr nun mal was? Seit über 2 Monaten funktioniert der Gruppenmodus nicht! Android 6.0. App Cache und App mehrmals gelöscht und App neu installiert ohne Erfolg. Sonst schicke ich die Lampen zurück! Anmerkung 30.12.15 es geht nun auch unter Android 4.1 auf einem Samsung nicht mehr... Liegt also nicht an mir und meinem Nexus!
