About Unvisited
The Visitor's Guide to Unvisited Places.
Wikipedia needs a lot of images! Be the first person to photograph a place for the article on Wikipedia...
With the new Wiki Loves Monuments mode, you can find places to visit for the Septermber 2013 photo contest.
The Unvisited App helps you plan trips of places that need pictures.
You can plan walks, bicycle rides or driving trips of your town or for any place in the world.
Unvisited queries Wikipedia for articles on nearby places that don't have a jpg image yet.
Then it figures out which places can even be photographed.
Then it plans trips that take you past as many of these unphotographed places in the shortest distance possible.
The result is a list of up to 20 possible trips.
Each trip can take you past up to 20 places.
The trip can be displayed on a Google Map, or emailed.
The email includes the list of places and an email link to display a walking trip maps.google.com.
Within the App, once you navigate to the Wikipedia article, you can click on the camera icon to get into camera mode, or click on the navigation icon to get directions to the coordinates in the article.
