Garden Assistant

GardenAssistant handles the administrative drudgery of managing your gardening jobs, freeing you up to get on with what you love - gardening.

In GardenAssistant, you can set reminders when you record gardening events (such as sowing or collecting seeds, taking cuttings or planting out seedlings or propagated plants). Reminders appear as a single message on your phone, expandable to view the details of all the activities that need your attention. You choose what you want to be reminded about and the frequency at which you want to be reminded. Never forget to water those precious seeds or planted-out vegetables again!

Ultimately, GardenAssistant enables tracking of both successes and failures, saving money by enabling you to detect trends in stored information (on gardening activities over time). For example, this data could answer questions such as “What was the failure rate of seedlings bought from a particular supplier?” or “What varieties of garlic grew biggest and kept the best?” Currently all your data can be exported to a .csv file, which can be loaded into an Excel spreadsheet or a database.

The future of this app is even more exciting and by installing it, you get a say in what features to request. We envisage more support for maintenance and harvesting activities; built-in report generation; mapping; and interaction with local weather services, but feel free to suggest a new feature which could assist your gardening work.
