About Cantonese keyboard
Cantonese keyboard (廣東話拼音鍵盤) is an implementation of soft keyboard for the Google Android mobile operation system. It provides an interface for the entering of traditional and simplified Chinese characters on Android devices, by means of the Hong Kong Government Cantonese Romanisation convention (香港政府粵語拼音) and English-Chinese dictionary look up.

Phrase lookup (32MB of heap memory is required):
Input Chinese phrase directly by the following patterns;
* First code of the 1st char. + First code of the 2nd char. + … + First code of the last char., or
* First code of the 1st char. + First code of the 2nd char. + … + Full code of the last char.
E.g.
For '你好嗎'; key in ‘nhm’ or ‘nhma’.
Open by:
For Android 1.5 ~ 2.x;
1.Check the keyboard at Settings > Locale & text
2.Long press a text box > select input method
For Android 3.x ~ 4.x;
1.Check the keyboard at Settings > Language & input
2.Click a text box > drop down the notification bar and click 'Choose input method' > select input method
For Android 5.x;
1.Check the keyboard at Settings > Language & input > Current Keyboard > Choose Keyboards
2.Click a text box > Click the keyboard icon on the bottom navigation bar > select input method

Tips:
1. If you experience extreme lag after updating, try uninstalling and re-installing the keyboard again.
2. After changing theme, try to restart the keyboard or rotate the device with the keyboard active, to make the new theme effective.
3. If you experience touch difficulty, try to set the Touch sensitivity settings as High and Neutral.
4. If you experience missing candidates, try enabling the 'Rarely used characters' option of 'Chinese candidates' setting.
5. Simplified Chinese candidates are disabled by default. Enable it at the 'Character type' option of 'Chinese candidates' setting if required.
Known issues:
1. Keyboard closes itself on Contact's phone number text box of Samsung devices with Android 4.x. Will fix once we get a Samsung device on hand to check.
2. Keyboard plays sound on press on LG devices, even sound is disabled in settings. Will fix once we get a LG device on hand to check.

Not only do you have Cantonese 拼音 as input method but also English-Chinese translation as input method as well. Fantastic! MS Windows should have something like this.

買咗 yogabook, 配合 hardware keyboard使用時有以下問題: 揀字時要長按數字鍵比較唔方便, 打一大段中文時會好慢(因為打每個字都要經歷長按數字鍵...), 建議可以設定使用 hardware keyboard時 candidate只有10個,然後一按candidate嘅number就即刻選字,咁樣會流暢好多

Please include tone numbers so I can filter out jyutping according to tone as well, e.g. 'jing3' would give me words that sound like 正.

I loved this keyboard but seems like if I change my phone's DPI, it messes up the keyboard, with only a few keys occupancy the whole keyboard area, making it unusable. Will give it 5 stars if there is an option to fix lowered DPI issues

Been using it for years. My Chinese writing skill isn't that good and I don't know how to pinyin. This keyboard is god sent to me. I just type in English words and the Chinese translations come out. Took a while to get used to and had to be very creative to come up with some words but that was the fun part! After a while typing Chinese became so easy! The only thing I wish they'd include is the swiping method. I don't see why it cannot include one because ultimately I am just typing English words.

The switching is fussy. Though the word selection especially for traditional Chinese and Cantonese are quite well done but when need switching between Chinese and English is really troublesome. Good for single language user.

It works well and easy to use. Could do with expending the English dictionary as there are many many... many words, especially British spellings aren't on it.

The space bar not wide enough so always click on wrong key and annoying now it doesn't have the usual emoji button so can't add emoji for fb

I have been using this app for long time, great typing w/ English & Chinese (show both Traditional & Simplified) options, but now just installed the new version to my new phone, the Simplified Chinese words are gone ! Pls add it back for great convenience !

Been using for years but since last week starting a big issue, whenever i needs to input password then always login fails. This happens mainly to Chrome browser for all websites. Strange thing is I tried on another browser (opera) and it works fine. I also tried to switch to another keyboard (e.g. google cantonese keyboard) but back to using Chrome and it works fine too.

Password entered in Chrome have problem recently and resulted login error in web services or home NAS. Change to Google keyboard then login success, or password entered in Dolphins broswer is login normal too. Factory reset still can't fix the problem.

This kicks most other keyboards into the reeds! Not only does it accurately enable typing of Chinese characters using Cantonese phonetics, it is also very flexible and forgiving. Will even translate English on the fly. The only thing lacking is the ability to add/customise the dictionary, which lacks some slang and uncommon characters. Still excellent.
