Per noi di Elec-to, il cambiamento non è solamente una possibilità, ma anche e soprattutto sinonimo di responsabilità e impegno etici, perché oggi più che mai si avverte l’esigenza di una morale che guidi i cittadini e che scuota le coscienze da quel torpore che troppo spesso le rende impotenti, incapaci di agire e più inclini al vittimismo. Sempre più spesso si sente dire per strada, dal giornalaio o in coda al supermercato, tra amici e colleghi, che “l’Italia è un paese in crisi” e che “l’unica soluzione sensata ormai è quella di trasferirsi all’estero”. Se tutto ciò suona vero e inevitabile, noi vogliamo che diventi solo una tra le possibilità, una tra le scelte di vita che un giovane può fare.
Ma perché ci sia cambiamento, c’è altresì bisogno che menti giovani e reattive, con idee nuove e stimolanti, credano nelle potenzialità di questo paese e si adoperino affinché le cose cambino o possano quantomeno cambiare. Per questo motivo nel 2008 è nata ELEC-TO: costruire una nuova Torino, una Torino giovane non solo perché all’avanguardia o alla moda ma soprattutto perché fondata sui giovani e sulle loro capacità.
L’obiettivo dell’associazione era ed è quello di aggregare attorno a un progetto comune e concreto le passioni, le forze, le idee di quanti vogliano tracciare insieme una nuova strada, un nuovo modo d’intendere la partecipazione alla vita civile da parte dei giovani, di rimodellare la realtà contingente per trasformarla in qualcosa di diverso e migliore. Un’associazione no profit che promuovesse, tra le sue molteplici iniziative, l’arte e la cultura tra i giovani, ci è sembrato un ottimo modo per iniziare e uno strumento per invogliare e coinvolgere ragazzi giovani come noi a unirsi a quest’iniziativa. For us to Elec-to, change is not only a possibility, but also synonymous with responsibility and ethical commitment, because today more than ever there is a need for a moral to guide citizens and that shakes the conscience from that numbness that too often makes them impotent, incapable of acting and more prone to victimization. More and more often you hear on the street, from the newspaper or in the queue at the supermarket, among friends and colleagues, that "Italy is a country in crisis" and that "the only sensible solution now is to move abroad" . If all this sounds true and inevitable, we want it to become just one of the possibilities, one of the choices in life that a young man can do.
 But because there is change, there is also need young minds and responsive, with new and stimulating ideas, believe in the potential of this country and work to ensure that things will change or can at least change. For this reason in 2008 was born ELEC-TO: build a new Turin, a young Turin not only because the cutting edge or trendy but above all because it is based on young people and their ability.
 The association's goal was and is to aggregate around a common project and real passions, forces, the ideas of those who want to carve out a new path, a new way of understanding the civic life by youth, to reshape the contingent reality to transform it into something different and better. A nonprofit association that would promote, among its many initiatives, art and culture among young people, it seemed a great way to start and a tool to entice and engage young guys like us to join this initiative.
