* Resolved Issue: Issues related to the Samsung S4 Mini have been resolved.

Seems fair to say it works as advertised. Hopefully it'll never be needed to its full potential.. Nice to know someone's behind you to catch.

L70%
by L####:

I wish other two step authentication options would catch up. I feel much more in control when I get a notification to approve but have time to make sure I've ticked remember device if necessary and to not need to try and enter a code in a time constrained way. If only I could get an RSA token with an approve button .. Then everything would be breezy :)

T70%
by T####:

Best two-factor authentication app in my opinion. Not sure why some other have issues installing. In my experience, upon installation, a text is automatically sent to your phone #, and the app automatically sees that the text was received on your phone, and activates. Some others also don't seem to understand "two-factor" authentication. Of course you have to enter your password before verifying the code on your phone. That's the point.

N70%
by N####:

Just do understand the point? It's also showing up on my cell security as HIGH RISK, why would that be?

M70%
by M####:

unlike the google app, this is seriously flawed. Fine until you need to change yout password, then you find you are locked out of your account. I now need to enter a code into the app in order to verify my change of email. but i cant open the app, i need a code to verify this password change, where do i get this code...yup!, the app...genius, huge bug, utter fail

R70%
by R####:

It wont let me type my password in properly. I go one character at a time and the app adds extra characters.

R70%
by R####:

After spending two lengthy sessions trying to confirm my hotmail account using passwords, codes and the promise of applause from my first-born, this method MUST BE easier and more direct. ☆☆☆☆☆☆ If it actually works, I'll be back to give it six stars.

R70%
by R####:

During setup this App did NOT support the paste function for entering the emailed email validation code on my phone. I did NOT have a pencil & paper at that time,so I had to paste code into Richnote, float its window, then type the code into the app. WHAT A PAIN!!!

R70%
by R####:

Excellent very helpful indeed. Instantaneous.Saves me having to verify everytime using another method. Cos Microsoft r just taking the mickey nowadays, having to verify everytime u compose an email pretty much-'security reasons'? my foot! It's ridiculous, most other providers r perfectly safe yet don't do that.

It only shows security without need for approval its probably a conversation helping app for on other app.

I've enjoyed using mulit-factor authentication tools even though it is an annoyance needing to put in the code each time. Microsoft got this one right with the ability to simply click "approve" on the screen from the notification bar. I love it.

RIDICULOUSLY NEAR impossible to re-set password from OUTSIDE your account. The codes they send you to use DON'T WORK the instant that he write them down & go from your messages BACK to MICROSOFT site to imput codes. IRRITATING if you lose your PW... because, leave the Microsoft site to retrieve your "code" it INSTANTLY doesn't work because in order to get code. You're veering away from website ONCE YOU DO THAT... you have to re-start "forgot password" motions all over again!! My advice have GOOGLE save PW!

R70%
by R####:

Typical ms junk. Just loops over and over and woke let me set up and make my own code and isnt texting me a code. Stupid app cant setup my hotmail on it even though i know my password

E70%
by E####:

This does what it says in an unobtrusive way, and does it well enough. However, an option to create app passwords, for things unable to use 2 factor authorisation, would be a huge plus.

B70%
by B####:

I have had no other app even begin to rival the usefulness this app brings, FROM MICROSOFT NO LESS! Google's app pales in comparison. The fact that you can forego the usual extra steps to "authenticate" the request without having to practice your short term memory abilities is quite remarkable. Still gives you the option of looking at your code as well. GOOGLE! Get on this! I need this for my Google Auth apps! Good job Microsoft, your rockin' the android world and made me not regret my decision to go there. 5/5 Stars. */*/*/*/*

The Approve/Deny button positions in the notification. Please swap them to represent Android Standards which states that the positive button must always be to the right, while the negative button to the left. It might be different on Windows, but this app is designed for Android and should work like Android.

R70%
by R####:

I thought this would be easy to use, but I could never get my code using this app if I didn't already know my login information. This defeats the purpose of verifying. I uninstalled.

P70%
by P####:

Any time you need to sign in on a different device or recover a profile, this app is not only the best thing to have, but Microsoft itself uses it daily to confirm your account

R70%
by R####:

I love this app, it helps protect my email account from those who stole my email information. I tested it by declining an attempt from me to enter my account and it didn't allow me into the email. Only if there where more apps like this for everything else!

R70%
by R####:

I've been enabling 2-Step authentication not just with Hotmail but also my Google account. It seems like the Microsoft Authenticator is actually easier to use than Googles one as I don't have to remember random digits although I'm not sure if there are security drawbacks?

R70%
by R####:

i don't understand how this has 4 stars?! i have to enter a password, then enter a DIFFERENT NUMBER EVERY 30 SECONDS to get into this P.O.S email account?! this is just ridiculous!!! you can keep it. in my opinion, it doesn't even deserve one star.

R70%
by R####:

The strangest thing happened when this app launched. I'd never had warnings that someone was signing into my account before, let alone two in one day. Then when I sign into my untouched account, a message told me I should download this app for safety reasons. I haven't had one message from the app asking for authorization from an unknown device...

J70%
by J####:

Each time I have I tried to set this up on my phone (Note 3) a prompt will come up on the stock email app and say the password has been changed when it hasn't, also a text code is not being sent to me to verify the account... not sure these are related but it is extremely annoying.

R70%
by R####:

Just a little annoying whenever I have to go get my phone so I can log into a PC. 11/2015 Now that I've used it awhile...its not such a good idea. I got a new phone. Downloaded the Microsoft App again. Have been trying for a week to get to my email. Can not log in because the new app has to be set up but doesn't accept either the user name, email name, nor passwords. I wish I had never turned on the double security.

R70%
by R####:

Excellent app, very convenient to confirm identity requests. Would be nice if it would leverage the Android "AccountManager" to hold the accounts. Many apps I have ask me to use an In-App Browser to log into Microsoft, which is incredibly insecure. It would be nice if they had the option to check the AccountManager instead to help keep my password and account secure.

R70%
by R####:

You still have to type your password then later approve the security code sent to your phone! So where's the security if we still have to type/risk our password?

R70%
by R####:

I'm not getting notifications to approve or deny, which makes logging into some apps like Xbox Smartglass impossible, since I have to switch apps and when I go back, it already expired.

R70%
by R####:

Brilliant authenticator app. Really is a shame that Microsoft don't have an app as good on their own phone platform (hint, hint).

R70%
by R####:

App doesn't let me see if I missed a key. My hand shakes from nerve damage so I can't get the pw right on Huawei 868c. I need accessibility alternative of seeing each character briefly at least to use this. You don't realize how many errors made typing this.

R70%
by R####:

I got so tired of Microsoft constantly asking for additional verification. This app is easy to set up and supports multiple microsoft email accounts. When approval is needed it pops up a notification to accept or decline. Great even with multiple accounts. Love it!

H70%

I've been plagued by Microsoft intrusive attempts to tell me that I had failed to log on. Together with msn & Bing, please adopt a helpful, logical linear approach, so that we know just what youare selling!

R70%
by R####:

This app works flawlessly. The bad reviews are unwarranted. I have never once had a problem and it's much easier than using an authenticator app.

R70%
by R####:

Once I'd set up it kept saying no pending requests even though my on my pc it was asking me to verify. Tried the security code... That kept saying invalid code even though it was the code just generated

N70%

Happy to see that Microsoft has done wonderful job in developing this app.. But few days back I had switched to Windows Phone assuming that Microsoft authenticator for windows would be much better.. Sorry to say, I tried almost every Microsoft apps on windows including One note, office , Wunderlist, Evernote etc. disappointed me.. Microsoft is pouring all it's potential on third party Platform rather than developing for its own Windows ... Switching back to Android. Looking forward to try iOS meanwhile

B70%

Don't need or use regularly, so hate it taking up space. Does make everything convenient when you do actually need this functionality.

B70%
by B####:

So, I asked to change my security protocols or whatever they are... I now get 50 odd pop ups a day telling me that I have to wait 30 days and did I request this... has made my phone virtually inusable. Struggle to get out of the notifications. Even deleting the app hasn't stopped it as it goes across all Microsoft apps.... not happy. OMG... SERIOUSLY. YOU'RE NOW SCREWING UP MY TWO TABLETS AS WELL! IT KNOWS WHO I AM AND THEREFORE WANTS TO TELL ME 50 TIMES A DAY ON EVERY DEVICE THAT I HAVE REQUESTED THE ABOVE

I70%
by I####:

I wasn't convinced at first but it I love it now. When it's working and you log in to your MS acc somewhere, you get an almost instant prompt on your phone. You can then just click 'Accept' in the task bar - easy! You don't even need to open an app.

I've tried many multi-factor auth tools, including those silly fobs you get from the banks these days, and there is nothing that works better, easier, and with the least disruption than this. I wish I could use this to replace all other vendors solutions...
