Microsoft Hyperlapse Mobile for Android
I am loving playing with this. Ive lost a few clips from it crashing. But my biggest gripe is the watermark at the end!! I'd pay for the app to remove the end watermark screen and prefer a small one in the corner of the screen during recording. Also, a pause option would be great. I want to give 5 stars but this is holding me back. PLEASE CHANGE THR WATERMARK IN EXCHANGE FOR 5 STARS
I can record a video using the app but cannot import any existing video as the app throws up an error, typical of Microsoft error messages "something went wrong"... What exactly does that mean? EDIT..after installing cm13 the app works as expected, should have worked on stock firmware though.
Plus: it's really easy to use and simple Minus: the 20 minutes restriction means you cannot shoot sunrise or sunset. Works quite slowly. The time lapse cannot be saved into device, just share. So it has no sense into the wild.
Why do you have to complete the entire process of creating a hyperlapse video before it saves the captured footage? Why can't it save the footage to your camera folder before processing into a hyperlapse so you don't lose 20 mins of footage if you have to turn your screen off before it's done processing? I've lost a ton a footage already due to it either crashing while processing or having to turn my screen off before it's done processing 20 mins of video..... really irritating
Point and shoot easy! New to time lapse recording? Are you easily bewildered by the multiple settings on similar apps from the play store? Then this has been made for you my friend. Let us all embrace the new Microsoft ethos together
I pulled this down on a whim after reading about the tech behind the app. It is really neat how well videos are stabilized even if you don't take advantage of the time lapse component. Overall, I'm happy... If only I could dump the watermark at the end of videos it produces.
Bad. Really bad. It's great if you are anti sd cards, and your andriod device COMES with that 128gb without having to use a sd card. But this app HATES sd cards. IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THEM! So therefore, you better have a ton of storage to save your videos or this app won't work
Great app for video stabilization but could use more features like different export sizes. Also can we have the option to use the app in portrait mode, quite weird to use on a phone in landscape (and no, I'm not taking about vertical videos).
I used to give this app three stars but recently downgraded it to two. This app doesn't prevent your phone from going to sleep when saving videos. So your phone will sleep, and the app will proceed to crash. This app just lost me two 16-minute timelapses of sunsets. Why can't the app save the entire original footage FIRST and then process the timelapse from the saved footage..it already has the 'import' function, right? This is an unstable app in my opinion and should not be relied upon as a primary option.
I recorded two videos today but they were not saved. Apparently if you press the back button, as one usually does in Android to close applications, the app understands it as "undo" and the videos you just recorded and processed are NOT saved. Not even in raw form. Once I have tapped the check/tick icon I ASSUME the video will be saved. It is not so in this app. - - - - - EDIT: OK so for some reason my phone doesn't show the videos in the gallery. They are in SD card / android / data / hyperlapse / files.
I tryed to make a timelapse of packing up my room as a test for recording a night sky time lapse and when I went to stop it it had stoped recording! 10:14 was flashing in the corner of the screen and I could not even retreve what I had recorded so far! Would not recommend using it.
Really wanted something like this on my phone and this brings sped up videos right to it! So easy to use and the ability to do multiple speeds with just one import is great! Just the importing speed could definetly be improved.
This app is perfect for creating stunning hyperlapses however I advise recording in another app then importing. It crashed when processing and failed to save my recording on an epic 10 minute journey which was very disappointing. If there was a backup function to restore lost or unsaved cached files that would be great?!
Captures video, but that's about it. No settings to change speed. Can't pick SD card as default and will not export to SD card (GS7 edge). Can't set resolution either. Can't find the video after saving other than going to a file manager..
Be sure to record using another app first. This one crashed after recording and I can't exactly bring my newborn home from hospital again :(
Running Android 6.0 on an LG G3 - app won't let me select "save to SD card" even though I have one. MS say you can only do this on compatible devices, but don't say what they are or where to find this info. Their own site doesn't tell you either. Recorded a video anyway on the app, works OK so I figure on some level my device is compatible but without a "save to SD option" it has limited use.
Works mostly pretty well. Can't seem to save videos locally (Moto Z Play), but saving to Google drive is an OK fallback. Videos seem to disappear if you wait too long after processing - ie; if you put the phone down to process a long video.
Deleted full video mid recording, do not download app!!! Was taking a unique video and a disk full message popped up. Instead of stopping and saving the video that was recorded already, it just deleted the whole thing. Words cannot express how disappointed I am. Fix this issue.
I was in the middle if a very important hyperlapse one that I pretty much could never do again and just as I finished it said that hyperlapse had quit and stopped working. WHAT THE HELL. Thanks to you I will never get to see that again and it is all your fault. Thanks a lot.
Was only able to do video few seconds long. Longer than that so freezes after you finished filming and crushes, saving no video. Extremely disappointed
So happy to have this app on Android and it's completely free! But recently it can't import any video, gives playback error messages and none of the settings can be modified. Recording fails, too. Basically nothing works.
I've been looking for a simple to use app that would create hyper lapses. This app is perfect! My only complaint is that if you have a hyper lapse that is 40+ minutes long it takes a while to save but still worth the download!
It does well both import and export. However, the issue I have with it is, before you get ready to post it on social media, there's some sort of advertisement at the end. I don't want my viewers to see Microsoft Mobile or whatever it is as advertisement when I am ready to post. In my opinion, it's not professional. If the app has to be purchased in order to prevent that then that's fine. I need that to be cut off before I post. Meaning it needs to be edited.
I am using the app on my LG V20. The phone itself has 2 rear cameras (dual lense); one is the main 16mp shooter and the other one is the 8mp wide-lens camera. My problem is that the app seems to use by default the 8mp wide-lens camera. I just can't find a setting to switch to the main rear (16mp) camera and it's disappointing.
Spend 15 mins to shoot a timelapse of the same time and at the end all it says is encountered an error for the 3rs time consequently. Motorola Nexus 6, Android 6.0.1, Hypelapse v1.7.2016.3020, captured video, 12 mins, export at 1080p ON, export to storage not available (inbuilt memory 64gb, 30gb free space available before capturing)
This would actually be pretty cool, except the videos are so over-compressed that virtually all detail is lost. You can kind of make out what's going on in the video, but the results are really not good at all.
Very simple to use timelapse app, easy import and capture. But not wing able to save to SD Card renders this pointless as my Galaxy S5 doesn't have enough system memory free for enough, but my SD Card has 50 Gb available. The option is there, just won't activate
I clicked on this because it looked the most professional. I was wrong. I'm not trying to hate, but this apps constant crashes and deletion of videos is not appreciated. I make drawing timelapses, and it butchered countless videos and generally just wasted my time as a content creator.
Crashes a lot! Its really annoying when you record a beautiful sunset hyper-lapse for 10 min and when go to save it, it crash! But sometime when it works, it gives awesome results, hence 3 stars!
This app doesn't work if we shoot a long video ( say for 5 mins)... The phone gets heat up and the app crashes. I don't know whether it's the problem with my phone. Anyway my experience is really bad. I have lost a lot of nice moments because of this issue
I liked this app just wanted to have the option that video gets saved on the device automatically....without having to share it.....please add that option. Then I wouldn't mind giving it 5 star rating.
I love how convenient this app is, both professional and practical, and makes working on videos a causal task with quality results. It's exactly what I need to suit my needs and there's no brainstorming required to figure out how to use it. The only problem is that you're out of luck working on anything over ten minutes, and I wish that would've been stated more clearly before I recorded footage just over ten minutes with the intent of using this app to edit it. But if you avoid that mistake and can work around the ten minute limit, I wouldn't recommend any other app.
It took over half an hour just to import a two minute video! Also it will cut the frame size automatically for no reason and you will lose a lot of the image
I still have to be mindful of orientation if I plan on using an external player that doesn't support the new standard. This is just how Google camera works too, so I guess I have to wait for other apps to implement it. Well done.
Record videos safely with your normal camera then IMPORT file into Hyperlapse! If you record video with the app itself it can fail to save in the speeded up version and then seems to have no function for auto-saving the original normal-speed file on your device meaning you Sat around for ages effectively recording absolutely nothing and the event has now passed forever with no actual recording being saved - not even at normal speed. So... make a normal video recording & SAVE IT! Then import to Hyperlapse
Pretty Good, but it would be great if the app could stabilize videos without the need of importing the videos, what i mean is why you dont give us a clean app that could be doing all the job inside our devices without import our videos, because with big size vidz takes so long while importing and for that sometimes the app just crash or forceclose....
Resolution drops but the shaking is gone. It seems avoidable that the resolution drops on very shaky video. The resolution doesn't seem to change much on video that isn't too bad to start with.
No features ay all. Unable to set framerate, interval... Very basic app
The app works perfectly and has simple settings which is a bonus. I hate apps with complicated settings menus. This is just point and shoot at its best. Have seen some comments blaming the app, just have to remember, the app is only as good as your phone!

Don't get me wrong, this is an excellent app. But after about 10 minutes of recording, it said 'Disk Full. There is not enough space on the disk. Please free some space and try again.' I've freed up some space in everything, and it still says it at the same recording mark. I know it's not made for hours and hours of recording, but I would like to use it for a decent amount of time like to catch a sunrise or sunset. I would like to see it send directly to an SD card(where there is plenty of space)
