AppComparison for Android
MS badly needs some kind of Material design guideline for devs because 95% of the Non Microsoft apps on Windows Phone are just ugly and poorly made.
This app is not good! I have all the apps in windows phone that cant see it in the comparison like tiny troopers 2 etc... really hate this apps. You have to kill this apps that prevents android user for false knowledge.
How about listing apps where there isn't a match? I'm talking Nest, Harmony Remote, and Rachio for starters. Also if you are recommending a substitute for my XM Radio app it should be able to connect and stream XM Radio, right? Please don't get me wrong I am a serious Windows fanboy but I carry an Android because the applications I use daily are on Android or IOS.
I will only talk about games... suppose a mine craft player who put many hours (even years) in his game. Do you really believe an android alternative is enough to convince him to abandon his game here to start from the beginning there??? Hope you get the picture! (By the way i never played mine craft )
Could be useful in considering a move to Windows Phone, but the "Similar to" apps need to be taken with a large dose of salt. What's missing is the list of apps which are not matched, and there are some real gaps there, enough to make Windows Phone not an option for me. There are also some which should be matched, but aren't, for example if AppComparison is to be trusted, there is no equivalent to any of the Microsoft Office applications available on Windows Phone, which is obviously wrong, so I wouldn't rely too much on the results.
However, what I find is, there isn't support for serviellence camera systems like Swann, Lorex, Q-see, AvertX, etc. I need to be able to continue connecting to my home & business security cameras the same way I do now on Android. Before I can switch to Windows I need that to happen.
No matter what categories I click I get "matches" for the same 23 apps. Do me a favor and just scan all the apps on my phone and show me the matches or analogues for all of them. By the way I really appreciate the fact that you don't require any special permissions to install this app.
List apps that are no longer supported and don't work on windows phone. It suggested the nba game time app for use on my wp as an nba app replacement, but it hasn't been supported for over a year and doesn't work at all. This app also suggest a lumia 640 while using a G4. Yeah a 640 a phone that sells for as low as $30 is a replacement for a G4. Lol
So I'm using another windows phone and from what I gathered you just can't compare wp to android ! All windows apps are more like web versions stacked in apps and look terrible . It needs more google apps that's for sure
I already know that the applications I use on my Android phone do not exist or are very bad (read: old without future updates coming anytime soon) on Microsoft devices. Stop trying to make us buy your phones!!! What happened to you Microsoft, you used to be the best kid on the block!
Android and apple fan boys and girls need to get over the whole oh my gosh they don't have this or that app... Pretty sure a lot people would actually do better and enjoy the windows phone if they have it a chance.

Was curious about what this app does. Barely found 15 matches for my 100 plus apps. Apps that got matched were mostly from third party developers and were poorly developed. Microsoft, first improve the quality and quantity of apps in your Windows Store before releasing such apps.
Says that identifies my favourite apps. nooooooo. Just found 10 apps to compare, 5 of them are google apps and recommended me to switch to ms apps. Go home ms. The only thing that this app does is showing you how many apps are missing from there store. from 100+ apps i have installed only 10 have similar apps on windows store. As i said nooooooo....
But sadly for Microsoft, this app just confirmed why I should stick to using Android and stay away from Windows Phone. Well M$ that has backfired on you in a HUGE way, but at least I gave this app a fair shot.
I've been considering getting an MS phone but was not sure if all my important apps were available. This app confirmed that all except one were matched. Upon further enquiry that 1 exception is actually available on the MS app store.
This is wat I've been expecting from Windows I need to the app which are used my me on my Android phones are available in windows..tats y I ignored windows phones now I wnt most of the apps which in using are available in windows too gonna change my Android phone
Very useful, as I haven't bought a windows phone yet. I think I'll get a inexpensive one to see how I like it... One thing I noticed is a lot of butthurt ratings from android fanboys talking nonsense just because they don't want to accept anything else
App selection is getting there. Still to many of my favorite games that ain't there. PlayStation has many comparable FPS games, but still no Halo. Which is why Xbox always wins for me (although Halo 5 was the worst version). Microsoft if getting there but still doesn't have the heavy hitters. VainGlory, Clash of Clans, World of Tanks, Order and Chaos, etc etc.
Microsoft needs to add a list of all the apps you can't get instead of just a list of alternatives. Half the alternatives it gave me were probably scams, especially the opera and steam alternatives.
I would loved to have moved to Windows Phone especially looking at the new phones and I love the look of continuum. All this app has shown me is I can't Mo e to Windows phone unless I get rid of most of my apps and the way I use the phone. Such a shame. Bad bad move putting this app up.
Allowed me to install WindowsCE 2.0 on my HTC Dream. Minesweepers is a blast and I'm loving MS paint and solitaire. Seriously though, the app does what it claims and I kind of feel sorry for Windows phones so five stars. Honestly, it's a really nice os with limited app support and almost no market share, so consider one as a backup phone.

Coming from Windows Phone and looking to go back, it does a decent job matching your apps and informing you of likely substitutes and direct matches. Not sure how it selects an app when multiple ones exist because 6tin is world's better than any other tinder wannabe on WP yet it wasn't chosen. Biggest letdown of this app is that it doesn't tell you what ISN'T matched. That's the list I really want to see and I hope Microsoft is looking.
It's like a cold shower for those who ever entertained thoughts of switching to Windows phones. Doesn't mention quality of apps either, for example, Waze on WP is a sick joke compared to iOS/Android.
This app is not all that bad, in and of itself. Problem is Microsoft can't find matches. Some of that is because there is no good match, but also because the Microsoft Store itself is a mess. The search engine can't find anything, even when you give it the name of the app. I've had to search Google in a browser for 'xyz Windows phone' to find a link, either to the store, or to a reviewer or the dev's homepage that will provide the store link. The lack of apk support further compounds the problem, naturally.
Keeps Crashing on my Galaxy Note Edge Marshmallow. Does not connect to your servers either with an error message to say check my internet connection. My internet is perfectly fine from wifi, cellular or cabled connection.
I was hoping that this app was Microsofts way of showing that the windows app store has caught up a bit to android. I ran this on my phone and tablet and the difference was shocking. About 95% of my apps are still not available for Windows phone. Honestly I try the windows phones on display at best buy and I think they're awesome, but this app totally changed my mind about buying one now :(
Very useful for comparison. I like the Windows mobile user interface but cannot do without SwiftKey, ColorNote, Meetup, Google maps. Have to stick with android afraid
Claimed to compare favorite apps, but didn't. It selected ones it had answers to, but ignored my absolutely must - have apps so was pointless to me. Needs a select app, then looks for comparison, not its selective cherry - picking.
Check YOUR OWN connection, MS! Stupid app won't work at all... &roid 4ever ;)
Just because an app exists in comparison to another doesn't mean it is a good app. Much of what they are showing me reminds me of the early days of Android with many of the apps being half baked and functioning poorly. They need some quality development tools and developer incentives to get things really going. Maybe some security upgrades and a push to government contracts would put them in a better position. They could fill the void BlackBerry left behind.
I tried this for a laugh, and that is a very good word to describe this terrible app, practically all of the non-exact match suggestions were laughably bad, if you ever want a quick laugh at Microsoft's expense, this is a great way to get it. I've given this one star out of five because that's what your IQ must be if this joke makes you think jumping to WP would be a good idea LOL
GREAT app but ONLY for the WRONG reason. It shows me JUST HOW PATHETIC Windows 10 operating system is. FIRST of all, in its attempt to "match" apps, it included MANY APPS that don't work properly in Windows 10 and even some that have been REMOVED from support for WIndows 10 tablet. Then to make matters worse, when it showed me the ones that there are "similar" substitutes for, they were WOEFULLY inferior. Among the MANY "matched" apps it located for me: --Skype, YouTube, NBC,Plex, PayPal,Uber,Slacker, and countless others either NO LONGER available for WIndows 10 tablets or never were in any official form. I guess this is a VERY misleading app.. aimed at those who don't have an actual Windows 10 device to VERIFY this crap. I feel sorry for those who will use this and be mislead -- only to be disappointed. Shame on Microsoft for this sort of misleading garbage. I still gave it a five star because it PROVED to me why I don't need to invest in a Microsoft Surface tablet -- it's support for Windows 10 apps is even WORSE than the previous WIndows 8 editions of Surface.
That I'm not moving because I heard you track users for anything and there is apps but they're just not updated like twitter and tumblr or else I'd probably move
I've always wanted a windows phone but the only thing that's been holding me back is the apps. If WP10 had APK support I would buy the new Lumia 950 in a heartbeat. Good luck Windows.
I'm a die hard Windows Phone advocate and user because its simply a better OS than Android & iOS but all this app does is prove that the reason I'm reviewing this in Google Play is because for me to use all the apps I need I still have to carry an Android device with me. Satya Nadella/Gabriel Aul should be made to do 8 hours a day using the #pathetic Twitter for WP & have bank accounts switched to Santander or HSBC then only allowed to use the Windows phone apps for those banks. They don't exist. #StupidApp
Even for apps that exist for Windows, they recommend a change to a app made by Microsoft... I want to know if my apps will be in Windows, regardless there is a Microsoft option. I don't want to change Google Maps or Gmail, for example.
For example, there is an actual official Color Notes app, but there's no way for me to add this info. Should also show a couple of alternatives.

Highlight the fact that Windows has hardly any apps compared to Android.. And then the ones you say is similar to the ones I have on android is insulting my intelligence. You were doing so well with your new CEO before this Microsoft.
