gps4cam for Android
A great app, if you enjoy deleting the location data it adds to photos, and having to add it again manually. I had a trip to Spain, did a lot of walking around with my phone recording my trip in my pocket... so I thought. Location was switched on, on the phone so it knew where it was. On returning to the UK, and running the photos through the software, it decided to tag all of my photos as being taken in the hotel room. Trip to Rotterdam, a whole days worth of pictures were apparently all taken at the Euromast (which we visited the previous day) Also, had a clock change whilst there as BST ended, the previous days locations were all an hour out, if the clock changes during your trip, make sure you export and photograph the QR code before the clock goes back or forward. Thanks for wasting my time!
I really like this app, it does exactly what it says it will. I've used it on iOS, and now on Android. Some reviews here comment that time and location is often tagged incorrectly. I don't know how they were using the app, but these are things to remember: The app relies on your smart phone GPS and Time. When travelling I make sure that my phone has access to data or at the very least the phone network. This will help the phone find its initial location and correct time. ALL GPS receivers will have issues with tall buildings, deep valleys, dense trees, tunnels etc. There is no point having the mobile network turned off to only use hotel WiFi, then go running off through the city or town taking photos and logging your trip on GPS4CAM if the phone hasn't had a chance to get its correct location or satellites are hidden from view. Even photos taken on your phone will be incorrect. My last suggestion is to use the option within the GPS4CAM app to shake the phone to record the location each time you take photos on your DSLR, or at the very least at each new location. Do this and the app works well :)
Some quirks but works well to geotag pictures from any camera
I used it with OnePlus One and I am very satisfied. Please, integrate gps4cam with gps4cam pro features. Thank you.
Please bring the pro version to android! This app is great and I'd gladly pay for pro features!
Purchased and installed... Can't really see much benefit of this over GPS logger apps and either setting the camera time or setting an offset... Happy to try again if dev can explain?
Seems to work fine... Loses two stars for no altitude data though... Five stars when fixed.
App keeps getting more useless. I had a trip to Spain, did a lot of walking around with my phone recording my trip in my pocket... so I thought. Location was switched on, on the phone so it knew where it was. On returning to the UK, and running the photos through the software, it decided to tag all of my photos as being taken in the hotel room. Causes more problems than it solves quite hotestly!
What is the point of exporting to email? I'm trying to find a way without taking pictures of my phone. Should be able to open the gpx file attachment in my email with the program. I will find the $40 spent for GPS worth a lot more after this experience with a free app.
Great for geotagging, and the way it uses QR codes to sync time between camera and phone is just brilliant! Loses 1 star because it does not log altitude - that requires the Pro version. And while I would happily pay the extra price for the Pro, it is not yet available for Android (although it was promised more than a year ago :( )
When photographing qr code at the end, the photo HAS to be crystal sharp, even more sharp than all my landscapes I took today. Desktop cant see any of my qr photos due to "too blurry" ? Maybe I should use a tripod?!
Does not work with android 4.4 No documentation, no support.
Cheap, simple, efficient and precise. Made my traveling exactly recorded with no effort.
Love the app and what it's capable of doing, I just wish it flowed with the look and feel of Android L's material design.
Transmitting the data with qr codes is ingenious. Id love if it would keep running when closed. Maybe use a foreground service?
It is for dslr without gps like my d800 but it do the job of the 215€ nikon gp1a that add an item on the camera's hot shoe and a cable that are not comfortable while I walk with camera in hand. This app comes from a very brilliant idea and with a very well made help section. Great job!
What a clever little app. Not only does what it says, it does it with excellent accuracy too. As much as I would like to buy the GPS module for my Nikon D7100, I am not willing to part with over £200 for the privilege. I now have an excellent alternative. Thanks you for a superb app.
Easy to geotag.
But some GPS routes are named "iPhone.****" on my android device. And it would be great to send the qr code via mail
Is quite precise. It's possible to add an option to continously capture with the GPS?

Very useful app. I am doing a report on some buildings in my country, I needed that app. Bravo.
I just got back from Portugal. When I went there I thought, great, I'll leave this running on my phone, it'll store everywhere I go. I tested it before I went, it was absolutly fine. Arrived in Portugal and the app says something along the lines of "Problem with your license key, go online to make it work" so thanks to this app, I had to pay roaming fees because I'd rather that than have to geo-tag 1300 pictures. I've got a trip to Poland at the end of the month, I will be furious if I have to pay roaming fees again to make the app function fully!
Great app for recording photo positions via GPS if you are a photographer that will stop and crate a photo. Simple to use and has very useful automation and sync features. The down side is it would have failed miserably on my recent tour bus excursion shooting while moving through the city and later trying to identify the buildings and features from the GPS positions. 30 second granularity, with a few missed reads due to lack of GPS around tall dense buildings, could have put my GPS point miles away. This is not a recorder for photographers moving fast. I will return to the My Tracks app.
Been using this since it was first released, latest version makes gpx export on tablet easy.
If you install this then head out to the great outdoors beyond the realms of a data connection then you're going to be disappointed. There must be a better way to check the license, perhaps delay it until a data connection is detected?
We just need a way to make it work without data connection so I can use it when traveling without data roaming
This app is amazing. I use it all the time. I use it to add gps info onto the memory card, then import directly in Lightroom. Developer did a great job. Thanks.
You do not care about time and date of the camera, about the battery of your phone or conecting to a server to retrieve your data. Everything is on your phone. Just take pictures of some qrcodes and you're done. You can backup your trip by mail. And I need 10 stars for the customer care. This is a great product and you should buy it. Now.
The app is perfectly functional. Had some issues initially but these were most likely related to my phone. The customer service more than made up for the glitch and now the app works perfectly. Well recommended
This app works super. The first time I used it, things were not so good. I sent an email to the developer and the response was very quick and very helpful. I had not downloaded the latest version of the desktop software for my pc. Michael made sure that everything was working properly. I highly recommend purchasing this app. It works just as promised and does a wonderful job. It is the easiest way to add gps data automatically to your camera files. Definitely 5 stars...only because 6 stars are not available.
This app is surprisingly easy to use. Geotagging is done effortless. And unlike other apps, you don't even have to worry about your phone and camera times to be synced. Best geotagging app ever!
Perfect
This app is simple, efficient, and it gets the job done. If you have any issues getting it to read the QR code, follow the FAQ and disable fast-decode.
After trying a variety of other geotagging apps on my iPhone, I settled on this as the best solution. Same deal on my Samsung Droid Charge: Tried several other droid geotaggers, and they were pretty sorry. I'm delighted the developer ported this to the Android platform: It's now the best Droid geotagger. Simple, elegant process: Just take a photo of your phone's screen at the end of your trip and run the fast, simple program on your computer to complete the tagging process.
Great app. This makes geotagging painless. The concept is imaginative and simple. Developer is responsive and helpful.
This app does everything it says on the box quickly, easy and without any hassles at all.

Set for 5 minute intervals, doesn't seem to record enough times nor wait for an accurate location before recording. If it crashes during a trip, you aren't notified until you try to export. All data points up to the crash are recorded. Support did not answer support email. Lg g3 Android 6.
