mySymptoms Food Diary for Android
Takes a bit to learn to navigate but a good tracker. Haven't used long enough to see if analysis is helpful.
Not easy to use and really dissapointed!
I would only recommend to include menstruation duration as part of the entries
Easy to use, great UI, wonderful analysis ❤ I use this daily and love it!
If it would have a way to track calories, carbs, protein, & fat it would be perfect
This was exactly what I was looking for.
Well built, and great app
Very very useful
I'm updating my review because they just updated the app... This app has made it much easier to track meals and symptoms on the go as I try to identify trigger foods. They recently added the option to add quantities with the foods, which makes it much more useful. They also added a super-fast feature tour to point out easier ways to use the app so you don't have to muddle through. And you can download the data to analyze yourself.
I have used this app for a couple of years. It has been very helpful. Under 'Other' I've included my activities, which helps me see how those have affected my emotional and physical health, stress levels and mood; not to mention being a journal of sorts. I just wish there was a calendar to click on , to return to a past date to review activities or issues without having to look at a saved file, or print it out. Even so, it's a great app!
Long time user of this app. Extremely useful for tracking your diet , medication etc. The suspect food reports are good but frankly I don't tend to use them much. I know what's likely to cause me trouble. Can be used as a stand alone drug tracker to monitor doses. The interface can be a challenge at first but it's grown on me enormously. My only real downer is that I would love to be able to sync my data across devices.
I've been trying to figure out which foods were making me sick. You can track what you eat & drink then how you feel afterwards. Within 2 days I figured out which food I had a sensitivity to and which foods I had complete intolerance to.
I love that I can track body related issues and it lets you create your own symptoms, food, medications, etc. Helps so much to figure out patterns that cause unwanted symptoms. You can be as detailed as you want, it even has a place for notes for every entry.
If anything this app is great for tracking input and output with symptoms. it can easily exported to a PDF to bring to the doctors if needed. you do have to track for a good amount of time to get enough symptoms to determine.the cause. The app is only as good as you make it, as you need to be dedicated to inputting everything if you want it to be successful.
For anyone who needs to track food, drink, medications, symptoms, or just wants to keep a keen eye on diet or medical issues this app is great. Been using for a couple of weeks now, easy and intuitive interface combined with quite a powerful data tracking app. Definitely recommend!
The app works well and has a bunch of nice features, I just have to gripes. 1: the database needs to be improved, it is sorely lacking, and most items either need to be input manually, or there are a bunch of half complete entries that you can choose from. I think so far one item has successfully been input via the barcode scanner for me. 2: It's confusing, the diagnostics are confusing, there are a lot of categories (medicine and supplements are two different categories but definitely have some overlaps).
Amazing app! Very helpful for tracking the foods that trigger issues. I've been able to pinpoint several foods that I'm sensitive to. Has a lot of details to add just to track any events or activities that effect you as well. Extremely beneficial!
Item entry can be confusing but the database is pretty through already. It can take several days to get enough days for the analysis to be interesting. Really needs multiple device sync and a weed interface.
I'm so thankful for this app; it's allowed me to manage my pain and energy levels much more efficiently, now that I can track the foods that affect me most.
This app will be useful to me if I use it consistently and put in all the ingredients of each food I eat. My character defect is I wait till latter part of the day and don't take the time to put in the ingredients. The best thing is to doc as I do things so I don't get behind. That way ill do it correctly. I think this app is pretty close to perfect. I only wish I could just scan the food and it would be in there & also provide a place to put how many calories are in the food bec I need a stop button.
I’ve tried 3 others tracking apps over the last 3 years, including MySymptoms. This year, I went back to MySymptoms. Surprise!! Enhancements over the last 3 years have taken it from good to great. It is more complex, and more difficult to use, but what software has more functionality without sacrificing usability? If it contained a nutritional database, it would be off the charts great! Check around… This is the best android app for correlating symptoms with conditions and was the first to identify my food sensitivities. I looked for better, but didn’t find it. It is well worth the cost, and I would pay more. Great development job! Need a beta tester or enhancement suggestions, put me on your list.
I find this app user friendly and intuitive. I like the scan barcode option. My only suggestion is to be able to print a report for only days a symptom was recorded. I'm supposed to be tracking everything I eat everyday for 2 months so printing out a report for 60 days is going to be excessively long, when my doctor only wants to see when I have symptoms.
Using this app for 1 week. Very specific- tracks every ingredient, you can add recipes & save them as a favorite to reuse later. Add symptoms you experience, track your energy levels and how well you are sleeping. Everything is based on time and duration. Not so great-the Barcode scan feature doesnt have much preloaded so you have to manually add products anyway. Overall, very time consuming, hopefully will be worth it.
I like this app, using it for my elimination diet. Couple of things: the swiping between days doesn't work, at all, which seems odd. Secondly, I'm tired of apps TELLING ME HOW TO LEAVE A REVIEW. If I have any suggestions or complaints I will leave them wherever I please, STOP TELLING PEOPLE HOW TO COMPLAIN IN A WAY THAT MINIMISES DAMAGE FOR THE DEV. I can't be the only one getting sick of this.
This helped me identify foods that were causing me issues and I have been feeling much better. I wish that it tracked nutrition too. It would be interestng to at least be able to see how different levels of macronutrients might affect certain symptoms.
This app is crucial for my health and helping me to identify what foods I am eating that are giving me hives. Very easy to use, and the copy feature is really helpful, as well as the bar code scanner to scan food labels in. Pretty impressed. Love the ability to email a PDF or .CSV file of the results to myself or someone else. These are critical features.
Using this to combat a mystery illness until I get diagnosed. Can you add in moods to, because certain emotions can set off my immune system & I'd imagine it's the same for others to? The stress log is great, but need to be more specific about the type of stress like you can be with foods etc. Also as previously mentioned, some way of logging macronutrients clearly would be great. 4 stars, 5 if you make the improvements I'd like.
I purchased this to help with tracking the effects of diet on my ulcerative colitis. I like how comprehensive it is and that it does contain some UK foods and has the option to add foods recipes and symptoms
This has helped me ten fold in tracking things that trigger flare ups. What supplements or medications help! I love how I can track food, exercise, medications, and sleep all in one place... and then track my symptoms to correlate all together!!!
The format is clunky and not easy to navigate. It takes much longer than I would like to input all the info. It seems to have all of the pertinent info and great options for tracking and charts. Just needs some streamlining.
I've been using this program for about a month. While I think it might be good for tracking some stuff. It is not easy to use, the help file is not that useful and the reports / graphs are limited. This being said, I will keep trying. Will see.
After using this app for a few days, i am now excited about entering everything in. So much better than my old paper diary. Some quirky things that take a little getting used to in terms of dirty entry - but that is minor compared to the benefits offered by the app.
Works very well... don't know why some people complain. It tracks my symptoms very well without any problem! This will make my doctors life much easier...
This app is user friendly. If using the basics it is very quick to enter foods, etc. New items take a bit longer to enter, but once you do they are saved. Very useful to my doctor and I for seeing which foods may act as triggers as I can also document symptoms so easily. Great app!
Super easy and lots of features. I hope the shared items continues to grow. It would be awesome if somehow it could help read the ingredients on labels. Not sure how easy that would be to implement.
Very customizable, includes meds, sleep, etc. Great for anyone tracking food & symptoms relationships, including people with FMS, CFS, ME, DM2, autoimmune & other chronic disorders.
I'd be 5 stars if menstruation was an option to track. Perfect for elimination diets, finding allergies.
I recommend this app because it helps me manage my IBS and GERD. The ease of this app has helped me to record and establish good eating habits that work for me. I have tried to keep track of my diet through pen and paper or using OneNote, but this app proved more convenient.
Starting an elimination diet to aid with ulcerative colitis. This app is thorough and easy to use.
