Resistor Scanner for Android
It can't identify the start of the rings. If I hold a 120 Ohm resistor one way (brown, red, black, black, thick-brown), it says 120 Ohm, when I turn it around (thick-brown, black, black, red, brown) it says 10k. There is a reason for thinner and thicker rings, and also the different locations/distances.
I just installed the app to be able to write this, LOVED the idea, keep up the good work, a captcha style automated submissions of failed detections and internal automated "guessing" would be awesome to increase accuracy, some kind of backend in a server to handle the failed ones. Also automate and guess the orientation so it can read l2r or right to left, Again, I know the color code but I truly love your proactive approach, I wish you the best!
This is so weird , i just put 1 resistor and then it show 2 resister because of shadow but when i turned off the light still same ! Fix the shadow
Just learn the color bands instead of using this turd of an app. And the dev can't take constructive criticism.
Why are you bashing this app with 1 star, give feedback to the dev you lazy...
On the Nexus 5x tolerance band needs to be to the left because the image is inverted in the app display. It seems to work OK with brown-body resistors. Blue-body resistors and extra bands stumped it. Good work-in-progress.
The app does work quite well, but you need to calibrate the color sensitivity in the settings manually until you get consistent detections, which took over an hour for me (and I'm colorblind, so you can imagine my frustration). But, it does work. So, 4/5.
Doesn't scan resisitors accurately at all. And if it finds more than one in the same area it places the text on top of each other making its findings unreadable.
Working but you need a batter camera in phone and scan resistance on white paper so it can not scan another colours
Complete failure on all backgrounds. App doesn't know how to reset itself. Doesn't auto focus when selected.
Good idea. Note 5 camera unable to reliably determine resistors 1/8 watt style
Doesn't work any times, hope it will!
It scans d resistors but it gives d wrong readings.
This app works awesomely. Exactly what I was looking for. As long as you follow the instructions regarding how to lay the resistor out it will work. Thanks for the effort.
Bilkul bakwas showing all resistor 21.47 ohm
It detected more than it needed to
Does not work..
Make my phone very hot
Won't focus
Not right
Shocking bad
The app is a good idea. If you have a big pile of random resistors on your desk, this could make organizing them easier. With the few that I tried, I got a few different errors. I tried different backgrounds, light sources and zooms. When I have more time, I have no problems sending my errors to you. I have no issues with helping you make this app great. Good start! Keep at it!
On a Nexus5 the shutter sound is a lady voice and it's quite annoying! And it cannot be turned off not does it respond to the volume rocker. Will try some more tests when that sound is fixed...
really liked it.I think i might be getting the hang of it. Here's what i found out so far: -too high resolution makes the app crash. Increasing it made detection worse most times (the best is around 5) -zooming before taking the picture makes detection a lot better. As long as you don't zoom excessively. Motorola z play 1rst edition Nice features to have in the future: 1)Disable the obnoxious voice that talks everytime i take a photo. - 2)I see you have tendency settings. Maybe have an option to select the "correct" resistor value(when it gives more than 1 option) so we can feed the app's algorithm. So by giving what it "should" have outputted, we could make learn to work with different devices and change tendency settings automatically. (You know what i mean). But then again, easier said than done. Overall the app has its quirks, but it works if you treat it right.
Too inaccurate. It cannot tell the difference between red and brown, which was the reason I was looking for the app in the first place.
It doesn't work at all was giving false readings
Doesn't work. I tried it with really big 3W resistors but the result was incorrect :(
Very helpful when in low light condition or when resistor/s' value/s are difficult to ascertain...
im scanning the resistor but it was showing the resisitor value instead it is showing colours and rings
not proper colour Detection
It doesn't work.
For me dont work, i think too bed camera, but idea good
Thanks for most use full app
Keep going on. Good luck
Its not accurate
It's very essential for mechanic s.
Unable to detect
Love the app.
Good idea...
