FandangoNOW - Movies + TV for Android
Couldn't access a movie's detail page in the last couple of days. The busy wheel just keeps turning without any other responses. Also, something about their streaming service that I often unable to stream a movie. I'll have to try and try again many times before the streaming service can successfully start. There are other times that the movie will quit halfway through the show and you'll have to wait a few minutes to restart. It's very annoying to say the least.
Horrible! Got this app for Free Movie Tuesdays but I have yet to be able to watch a movie for more than 15min. It buffers, loads, and/or times out every 5-10 seconds. No issues with any other streaming app, just this one. What's the point of having a movie app if you can't watch movies? I literally spent 9 minutes trying to watch this movie and it's only 1 min and 49 seconds into the movie. That gives you an idea of how often it buffers.
Buffers like crazy or stops playing and then locks up my TV via Chromecast. I don't have these problems with Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, or Google Movies. It's very difficult to contact customer support.
I won a free movie rental but the movie refused to stream correctly. I complained about it and their solution? Tough luck as we were having issues with playback that night so deal with it. Pitiful Customer Service!
I love this app, except the fact that there's not a sign out option! I have to uninstall this app and then reinstall it just to sign into a different account! I do this often because i switch between accounts a lot, it gets annoying and time consuming!
I really wanted to like this service, but the reality is, they just can't seem to get their act together when it comes to casting to a TV (Chromecast). Every other streaming service (including Google Movies, Netflix, PBS, etc.) all work perfectly with my Chromecast. Every time. This thing? Never. It used to just randomly stop, but the latest update improved things... Now, it only stops during the first two minutes, so if you start @ 2:30 you'll be OK. Guess it's fine if you don't own a TV, and only watch movies on your phone, but who does that?
No problem with the interface or navigating the app or even renting movies it was once I started to watch my movie that I ran into issues. Every 20 mins or so the movie would stop playing with an error screen and after the second time I couldn't even play the movie anymore because it said to many devices were streaming the movie, I had made my account not an hour before and I was the only one watching the movie. Trash don't waste your time with this app.
I want to be able to filter rentals from purchase only. When I want to buy I don't want to rent and when I want to rent, I don't want to buy. You are wasting my time. It has gone on long enough that I no longer want to use this app, even for free promos, let alone pay to watch anything. Even Play and Amazon aren't as hard to navigate digital content. It could stream better, but hey even netflix gets out performed by questionable free sites. If you want me to pay, your service better deliver. Not enough titles permit download, so I can download more and not worry about streaming problems later. I don't know what free content people are talking about. All these disparate junk rental apps make me miss blockbuster brick and mortar rentals.
Absolutely need to work on the app more. If u guys r having a huge problem casting y not just make the app available on more smart TV and gaming consoles. 3 for being a good idea can totally use only on cell. But people like me wanna watch with my family.
Worst service ever. Never can get service working on device and when trying to contact support, always hour long holds. Not even worth it when getting free movies to watch.
On the right track. With the mobile Tuesday, get an HD rental for 99 cents. HD casting is good quality, although I often have to restart my phone for it to work. I'd never buy a movie because it doesn't support surround sound like Vudu.
I downloaded the app and tried to sign up for it as I got a code that would give me a free movie rental, I tried to sign up AMD it didn't let me. All that happened was I tried to get a password that would qualify with this yet after half an hour and over 50 different passwords(the majority of which should've matched the qualification) nothing worked. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need another app? Am I the only one experiencing this? Thank you for reading. Please help.
I have never been so disappointed in the poor customer service experience I've had with Fandango NOW! I purchased a Fast and Furious movie bundle and during that purchase I was prompted to merge Fandango NOW with Fandango, which I did, unfortunately my purchase is now stuck on one account I can't access and I've been charged for the purchase, it's been two days now and still nothing, the rep said this matter will be resolved when the Supervisor in corporate responds to the request. UNACCEPTABLE! TERRIBLE WAY TO TREAT A LONG TIME CUSTOMER!
Absolutely pissed i spend $5 from a promotion on a $2.99 movie that my network is to slow??? Full strength wifi nice try scam artist's so now I have two days two not watch a movie I earned and u charged me all the $5!! Wow!!! I'm letting everyone know your a scam oh and the sponser ship you've provided for monopoly will help my class action law suit if I don't get my movie
Worst ever. Do not expect "customer service" to help you when you have a problem. You'll only get an automated message when you first ask for help and another automated message several days later saying they are too busy to help you. You can try and call them, but they won't answer. So you're on your own.
First rental purchase won't play, shows that it was purchased but still can't watch the movie does not show in library, have been on hold for an hour with no help. Horrible service. Literally every other service I have used is better than this.
Good luck streaming anything. Hit or miss with Chromecast. Constantly disconnecting forcing you to reconnect multiple times throughout a film. Roku app works very well, no idea why the Android version is so awful.
I like this app but the fact that it won't work via ps4 or sony tv's makes me want to stop renting from it. There's too big of a delay if I mirror my phone to my tv. Needs to be accessible on my platforms.
This app is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. MOVIES DON'T PLAY AND EVEN THOUGH I CAME FROM T-MOBILE TUESDAYS GIVEAWAY, IT SEEMS LIKE FANDANGO DOESN'T CARE AT ALL ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. I'VE BEEN ON HOLD FOR ABOUT 35 MINUTES NOW. TERRIBLE APP AND TERRIBLE SERVICE!
This used to work great but the last 3 movies I have rented would not play past the 2 minute mark. I tried updating app, uninstalling and reinstalling app, power cycle phone, same with chromecast...nothing works. I have wasted a lot of time and some money on movies I haven't been able to watch.
I had a credit on my sons account and it was deleted. When i contacted customer service i got no response. My account was also deleted and we have no idea why! I tried contacting customer service before because i tried downloading the movie i rented instead of streaming it(when u do 1 u cant do the other) no response. Never got to watch the movie.
I'm constantly being told that I have already used the code that was sent too my phone seconds Pryor and it's not able to shoe ,Video : EVERY TIME / frustrating on my end and speaking loudly ,Please look to see if I'm the one who is doing wrong, thanks for your help . Bryan Rowsey ;
Thank god it was a free rental. I downloaded it so I could watch it on the plane. Started watching it. Boarded the plane and...nothing. Suddenly there was an error in the playback and needed to download the entire movie again. I've had to re-download every time I start watching. Totally unimpressed
Shady. When you redeem a redemption code no matter how much it's worth you can only use it towards 1 purchase. so if you have a $10 redemption code and you buy one thing for 1.99 you've used the whole code. it's ridiculous
I wouldn't use this app if I didn't have promo codes to use... I have not been able to watch a single movie without some sort of issue. The issue always varies - "you are not authorized to view this title" (ummm OK well I paid for my rental so...) Or "error with playback", to name a few. There is no sure-fire way to fix it either, it's always trial and error. During one movie I got the playback error at least half a dozen times and spent about 20 total minutes trying to fix it. I don't understand why there are literally dozens of genres listed on the side, it's impossible to scroll through. And of all the genre's, I can't ever find "New Releases". I also cannot for the life of me figure out how to sign out of the app. I had to uninstall and reinstall to do so. It also seems to take awhile to be able to rent a new release. Most new releases are only available to buy so I have to wait longer to rent.
I keep calling customer support and no one answers !I used a T-Mobile Tuesday code and it didn't work so I got charged and my account is overdrawn and I need a refund ASAP! BUT I WAIT ON THE PHONE FOR OVER AN HOUR AND NO ONE EVER ANSWERS! 2/14/17 Also I followed the instruction to press 0 to leave a message but it only ends the call!
Doesn't work on my smart tv with this app. Customer service is non existent. Don't waste your time with this poor excuse of streaming act. You will get a better stream when you go to the bathroom.
Started watching on my tablet.Too many bugs. First attempt to watch a movie, it froze but the sound kept playing. The picture finally recovered but was not synced up with the movie now, so then I had to deal with two audios playing different parts of the movie at the same time. I gave up finally, and attempted again in the evening on my TV using a Roku.... but that turned out to be a moot point, because it wouldn't even load by this time. So then next day, evening, I tried the TV again and it was fine, as it should be, ....up until there was 42 minutes left and then it started "loading" the picture again, and that's all it would do. It also held my Roku for ransom, as I had the rotating circle "loading", even though I was out of the movie app. It wouldn't give up so I had to cut power. Also, my Bluetooth speaker didn't have sound to it, soon after working perfectly, while using this app. I had to restart my tablet to get it to work normally again, so I uninstalled. Nothing has given me so many problems as this app.
I now have a movie on my smartphone that I can't watch on my TV via screen cast, and watching it on a smartphone screen is simply not worth it. No browsers support Silverlight any longer, but it's needed to watch Fandango on a laptop or desktop. This just utterly sucks. Thanks for nothing, Fandango.
This service can't seem to sustain a constant quality stream. The quality keeps fluctuating when I have 200mbps internet and no other service has any quality problems. I would not recommend buying any movies from this service
I still can't play me purchased movies on the MI Box, and it still won't let me cast movies to it either. I'm still getting error code 2
ETA: And now it's working again; we'll see how long that lasts. Maybe the fix is leaving a bad review here? Was: It'll cast movies from my Android phone to my TV, but not a single tv show. Called customer support with the error code, they had no idea what I was talking about. Said they would tell the developers. This has been going on for months, still not fixed. This app is just constant bugs. So freakin' annoying.
Horrible. Won't Download Or Play! I tried downloading a movie but it stalled each time it made it to about 15% downloaded. Whatever the app did, my 48-hour rental period began at my first attempt to download. I tried downloading the next day and it got maybe 1-2%, but then switched to streaming while my phone was lying on my desk. Then I couldn't download anymore and streaming wouldn't do more than 20-25 minutes. That's a terrible app. When the app doesn't work for you, you're stuck because customer service essentially cancels all your requests, saying sorry it took us so long, we assume it is resolved now so contact us again if it isn't.
I downloaded this app to try and watch movies on a plane. When I tried to watch I received a "playback error". In trying to get help, I sent Fandango now 6 separate emails with no results. Then had to call in 3 times and wait more than 30 minutes to speak to someone who both treated me disrespectly and told me the reason they did not play was once I downloaded the movie the 48 hour period started. And then berated me for not reading through the usage terms. Deleted app and never again!
Absolutely terrible. The overall nice design of the app is made irrelevant by the inability to play a rental. I tried 6 times to download a film and had it fail everytime.
Keeps buffering movie and eventually just stops and blames my Internet speed. I have routine speeds of 120 mbps. The website won't even play a movie at all on my computer.
Keep getting error code 2 and 0 can't watch anything for the past 2 weeks. Contacted customer service through email and they replied to my email but just to say sorry they've had lots of calls and could not answer my email earlier. No solution offered but I've tried to troubleshoot on my own nothing has worked. I bought a show its the first and last thing I will purchase its not worth the trouble. I'll just stick to Hulu and Netflix.
STILL NOT SURE. I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED AS MANY PROBLEMS AS I READ IN THESE REVIEWS BUT THE NUMEROUS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCES HAS COMPLETELY DISCOURAGED ME FROM EVER SPENDING ANY REAL MONEY WITH THIS SERVICE. DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY COULD DO TO ALLEVIATE MY CONCERNS BUT I CERTAINLY WOULDN'T WANT TO WAIST OVER AN HOUR ON HOLD TO RESOLVE AN ISSUE WITH $3-5 DOLLAR RENTAL. PERHAPS THATS PART OF THEIR MARKETING STATEGY?
Absolutely the worst, buggiest movie app out there. More times than not, movies will start streaming, only to get stuck in a never-ending blue circle somewhere between 1-2min into the movie. Then NOTHING works. (Except Netflix, Google Play, VUDU ... get the picture? It's NOT an issue with my internet or Chromecast.) Customer "service" is so ridiculously bad, you almost think they are doing it on purpose. They seem eager to help, but are completely incompetent; to add insult to injury, most of the time they're closed or have mindnumbing wait-/hold-times. DO NOT use this service, unless you like wasting your time and your sanity....

2 things connected to my wifi: Phone and TV. The only thing running is this app attempting to cast a movie. I cannot stress the word ATTEMPTING enough. If you're interested in steaming movies, try any of the 900 other options available. 2 stars= 1 for easy access to trailers. The other because it's easy to uninstall.
