RainToday - HD Radar

It was a great app when it showed the notification when rain was going to start or stop in the next hour but now it freezes loading the data so it doesn't get the rain prediction making it completely useless, no real time any more! Only way to make it work now is opening the app, close it from background and re open it... Not good

Upgrade now wants access to contact information WHY? Also it has now adverts forced upon you. Has lost my original 4 star rating because of this. Now more popup adverts too.

The best thing about this app WAS the real-time rain radar which is been rendered virtually useless now thanks to the introduction of advertising. When you try to play the rain radar the advert pops up and when you cancel that and return to the radar the loading is all screwed up and it just goes backwards and forwards for the first half an hour and that's it

This used to work really well; I am sat here watching the pouring rain through my window, the HD radar screen shows my exact location under a massive blue blob and yet the front screen says there is no rain expected. How is it even possible to program an app to do that?

Used to work ok.... but now widget stops working and needs force stop to get working (on multiple devices). Rain meter never goes over medium even if it's bouncing down outside and would be better if showed rain further than only 1 hour ahead. Many stars available if fixed!

Always says no rain expected, no matter whether map shows it's raining... Support good - but ended with re-install - time will tell. I'll increase my rating IF it works... Much to my surprise - it works. Fantastic.....

NO RAIN EXPECTED! It's chucking it down here. I will not be subscribing anymore. MeteoGroup apps have gone too far downhill.

this app it asks for access to my contacts. I just want to know more about the weather. Why do you need the telephone number of my friends? Change that or else I will delete this app. I not willing to share information about my friends

Why do I have ads on a premium subscription?! Also, it's called rain today, not "rain in the next hour". I'd like a full day's prediction

Great app showing real surface precipitation risk. Not always correct but best i have seen. Predicts rain up to 1 hour ahead graphically. Pity about the full screen adverts.

Seems slow to find my location and rain covering of map switches itself off.

Just installed this but right away it demands access to my contacts, which of course, I've denied. Why do you want access to my friends' phone numbers?

Essentially very good, but trying to steal information that it obviously does not need, like contacts and storage.

I have 2 main issues. How do you delete from my locations places you don't want and sometime even with a good Wi-Fi connection it get 's stuck trying to download either main screen or animated map. HTC M9.

Gives a good idea what to wear if I'm going into town. Or to take an umbrella.

Works for rain. I don't use its other features. But it means i can plan outdoor activities. Cool

I will stick with RainAlarm thanks. This is rubbish.

It's Saturday morning, absolutely chucking it down on Canvey Island and Raintoday says "no rain expected" even though the HD radar shows a lengthy 4 hour belt of heavy rain right over us. I've set the location properly so what's gone wrong?

I love this and it keeps getting better. Occasionally I have to reinstall after an update, but I have to with lots of apps on android. I would like to give live feedback on intensity, as it currently says light, but really it's heavy.

Rain today used to be brilliant. Now most of the time it won't load data rendering it a useless pile of crud. Glad I didn't pay for premium.

I'm connected to high speed broadband, so it's not a connection issue, but it will not load data.

Review for Version 1.4: RainToday HD Radar won't work unless you update Google Play Services. The updated version of Google Play Services takes up large amounts of storage space on your device, compared to the smaller version that came pre-installed. If storage space is an issue on your device, think twice about installing this app. The radar map is good, though, and the free version lets you zoom in much closer than Weather&Radar.

The radar is accurate, not jerky, clear and visually great. It's has a basic satellite view of the earth, with the rain varying shades of blue to represent intensity, which is very easy to look at, rather than bright colours to measure intensity, and the clouds move across smoothly, as in real life, which for me, makes it les tiring to look at. Main problem is, it tells you 'no rain today' when it's pelting outside! It has a box to tick to say every 4 minutes, if you you think they are accurate enough.

It does what it's meant to do but it just feels like there is something missing, when I notice I'll let you know. It needs a 'Sleep' setting if it wakes me up again it's gone.

It appears that it should be able to set my location from the phones location but it is unable to do so. The option in settings is there but when enabled the app. Reports that it can not get my location and disables the option. As part of this it points me to an option about apps overlaying without any explanation as to why or what must be set. I should stress the location option in phone settings is enabled and works fine in other apps.

One problem is that widget becomes invisible in few hours of phone inactivity probably due to phone management system. But I would rather expect widget not updated rather than empty

Disappointed the radar only shows 1 hour ahead whereas the Rain Today website shows up to 3 hours. The website also tends to be more accurate - surely the source data is the same? Despite already paying for the premium version of the website I have to pay again for this app.

Like this app as it is quick and easy to check the surrounding area for the wet stuff. I have noticed it does not seem to pick up on very light rain which has occurred recently. A bit frustrating to check and then go outside to find that if actually is raining albeit very light.

User interface needs a bit of work, but that's nothing to the full page advertisement blocking the screen and then a second one at the foot of the screen. Uninstalled it.

Radar sometimes doesn't load without restarting app. Location defaults to Berlin. Notifications are unreliable and app is generally slow. Glad I didn't buy premium!

I took this off the phone because it just became next to useless - & I've used Meteogroup's apps for quite a while. (On Apple & Android). I have suggested that it's time they merged the Rain Today & Alerts Pro Apps as they pretty mch do the same thing. Until then, we'll just have to hope this one starts working again soon.
