Yah, like the others have said, it's not good to have paid for an app on good faith and now have an update with ads now that the app has been made 'free'. Refund my previously paid money. Also, it's 2017, this app not best practice Android material design. E.g. The rain radar animation scrolling is not very responsive and something that could have really done with following the official Android uix guidelines. I should be able to swipe left and right anywhere on the image to scroll thorough the snapshots and I should be able to pinch to zoom... Sorry guys.

You've taken away the 1x4 widget and only have 2x4 widget. This is too large. Please bring back the 1x4 widget, without that this new app is useless to me. I would also like an option without ads. I purchased the original app because we are inundated with enough ads in our lives and it's nice to have that option. I would gladly pay again for no adverts. The new app is very pretty and nicely laid out.

Please listen to your users. Ok so too many people had downloaded the paid app and you weren't making anymore money so you made the app free and added ads. I'm not begrudging the money I spent years ago, best value for money app ever. But I hate that ads, I would not mind if the premium add free version cost an annual subscription, but PLEASE give us an add free option. Also would be handy to back able to change the colour of the widget background, not just the transparency. Liked the layout of the old app better but honestly can deal with the changes. But PLEASE make an add free option.

Bet you guys were really excited about this new app roll out too. Well you botched it. Like most others here, paid for your app with no ads and you've gone and enforced them. It loads slow cos of the ads and all the content on the home page. Yes it's pretty, but the old app was so much easier and quicker to glance at and get all the info you need - that's what I want. The big widgets suck. You want to update your app to make it look all fancy, fine, but don't remove the old app from my phone and don't even give me the option, or my money back. At least offer the .apk file to those who've paid for it. Won't be using this app at all until things change back.

Many improvements are noted and appreciated. However, it is really disappointing, even galling, to be faced with adverts in an app that I paid for. For goodness sake, get a grip on yourself and offer a paid version quickly that doesn't throw adverts in your face. Please bring back the 1 x 4 widget; why was this useful feature removed? A silly decision. Thank you

A major layout change like this takes some time to find content I use often and was easy to find under the old app. Overtime this app will be ok as the data is there but not the same pathway to get to it. But as others have said - ads in a paid app - what are you thinking! There are plenty of free weather apps and some better than this app.

Agree with others - putting ads in an update to a previously paid for app is awful. At the very least you should have created a new, free app and left the old one as is with a note to say it wouldn't be updated any more. Also agree the design is too busy and very iphone-ish in colour.

Not cool that people who paid money for an app now get a free app with ads just like everyone else. At the very least there should be an option to pay for an ad-free app and people who paid for the old app should have automatically got the ad-free version. I also intensely dislike the new widget. The previous widget was the perfect size for my phone home screen and had a succinct amount of information, it was up to me if I wanted to know more. Given that you can have more than 1 widget layout I fail to see why there isn't the option to have the old widget, updated with the new look. At this point I'm gonna try it out but am likely to uninstall because this no longer suits my needs and I hate ads.

An App with more negative ratings than positives. WOW. I have a paid version why do I need to see some rubbish ads in between the weather blocks in the app. Now they even open full screen when you start the app. Please fix remove all ads and I will change to 5 Star. Ads in a paid app is Totally Unacceptable. Just a No No. Please action otherwise give me the old version apk back. Also where is the 1 by 4 widget??? If the above fixes are not possible then refund is what I am seeking.

1. I paid and now I get ads, that's very annoying. 2. Where is the 1x4 widget? Bring it back please! 3. I used to see 3 days on the widget now it's one. 4. I used this app so I could get quick accurate weather into, it takes 3 touches to get to the following days weather reports AND it takes time to load. Overall whole I like the new design and really like the customisation options I'm not at all happy with this update. Please reissue quickly. And drop the ads ASAP.

Not a fan of the new update at all its not as easy to use as your last one and I can't seem find my way though ALL THE ADS! Like many of the other people on here, I have paid you for the app so I don't have annoying ads blocking up my weather. So either give us our money back or get rid of the ads for those of us who have paid. Bad taste Met Service.

I used this app daily having paid for it as it was simple and easy to see 5 or 10 day forecasts. Now it is cluttered, full of adverts and hard to see the information I need. Very poor update, and as for making it free, where's my refund as it wasn't a cheap app? Either a refund or ad free for those who paid!!!! Terrible service. Almost at the point of uninstalling and finding something else.

I am really disappointed witj mey service. O paid a premium for the app and they go change it it to this ad with ads...why??? If it was to make it easier for all users does that mean I get a refund? The worst thing about this app is as soon as you open it there is a full page ad...and further down more ads...too frustrating. Even if it is is a number 1 download in Playstore. Rant over.

Disappointed to have paid for an app and now have to have adverts on a now free version. You should have 2 versions or provide a refund. The old version was far better. Would also be nice to see a 1x5 or 2x5 widget for users with larger phones, it just looks horrible and messy in it's current state. You've got plenty of terrible feedback on the new version so let's see if you listen to you customers and fix the problem at hand.

Gutted to have paid for this app years ago and now it's updated to an awful UI and hard to view weather forecast. There are ads EVERYWHERE and it's stupid to have people pay for it then get an update to this awful thing. Gutted! It's not easy to read and the widget is awful. I loved the old pp bring get it back please!

This update is appalling. Now so slow and clumsy to find information. Can't believe how much you have ruined what was previously my favourite app. The reduced size of the rain radar graphic is really annoying. Too many screens and too long to scroll and bypass ads. Shame on you

I paid for an ad free app, now I have to wait for ads to download before I get a forecast. Try that in poor coverage areas. Also best feature was that you could swipe sideways to see tomorrow, next day, all I care about, now side swipe takes me to Auckland. I want my money back, looking for a new weather app.

My old feedback wanted a widget. Got that ages ago but now you update to a 2x4 widget including loads of blank space. I want my homescreen back. Also; you can shove your ads right up your forecast! Refund our money or remove the ads asap.

This is my first review not happy at all paid for an app then it gets changed to a free app. Missing being able to scroll left and right to see what each day is going to be. Also missing the lovely back ground pictures. They really dropped the ball with this update. I want the old one back please or my money back. Could go on for ages with the disappointment with the new app.

As per all the other reviews, the ehancements are terrible. The loss of the 1x4 widget is a big deal for me. And to have paid for the original app and to then now be forced to use a version with adds is just mind boggling. Is that even legal? There is little integrity shown by the developers. I'm ditching it untill AT LEAST this is all sorted, even then, I'm not sure.

Terrible. What were you thinking? (Or did no one think at all.) This must be the Titanic of app upgrades. However for those who want to keep something similar to the old app there is still Rural Weather available from Metservice. Download that and turn off Auto updates. As long as you can find a suitable location near you and don't mind some ads at least you don't have to put up with the new version.

At first I wondered what had happened to my favorite app. It was so different. My first reaction was instant objectionable dislike, a natural human reaction to change. I gave it few days and it has really grown on me. I find more informative and easy to use. I really like it and appreciate the courage of Met Service to try a radical change. Thanks

Before update was a fantastic app. Except for looking a toothless mouth gaping child on rainy days... not everyone likes kids guys... new update.. now im looking at ads left and right.. takes AGES to open the app compared to before to see day out forcasts because its loading ads (serious 10 seconds on 100mb fibre)... uninstalling this trash.

Why removing the 1x4 widget for crying out loud?! Bad new layout & childish design. I have previously paid for the app to make it ad free, now there are ads without the option to get rid of them! 400 people already gave you bad feedback & you ignore it?

The new style is nice and the app seems to work well, but what on earth were you thinking putting ads in a paid app? If you need a subscription for some unknown reason just say so, don't sell my time to advertisers without asking me.

Like everyone else has said, I am unhappy to have paid for an app to not receive adverts only to updated to free version WITH adverts. I'm also not happy with the fact that the 1x4 widget is no longer available and prefer the previous 10 day layout. It was much easier to use and way less busy.

Widget removed in favour of weather undergrounds. Please return the forecast to the widget. This was my only reason for keeping it. Also purple - yuck -either allow us to customise the background or change it to black. I agree with the others those of us who paid should have upgraded to an ad free version. No problem with ads for a free version.

I paid for this app so I wouldn't be bothered with ads whilst reading the weather - but you've gone and put ads in anyway. That's poor form. That said, I like the redesign of the widget. Pleased that the widget now shows my actual location, rather than a vague general location like before. It's nice to have a transparent widget, although I'd like to be able to increase the size of the text on the widget, and to customize the widget contents.

The simplest things are hard to find now and the layout is busy. As for the ads well the feedback is clear.. I was also someone who paid for this app so a disappointment. Can't see where / how to save fav locations nor can I find how to auto update location.. This new feature rich version feels somewhat clunky and design limited..

Horrible new design. I paid for this and now ads?! I'd pay again to get rid of them. Really want to support the Met Service who have done a great job... up until now. Please give the option to revert back or fix this mess.

I have no words for how peeved off I am! Being bombarded with ads on an app I paid for SO I WOULDN'T GET ADS. I want a refund. The new app is difficult and clumsy to navigate, I just want to see the weather tomorrow but the app keeps autoscrolling to the bloody ads I paid not to see!

Sorry, nice try but the old app was much better and easier to navigate. And...what's with the advertising? Like many others have said, I paid for app because it was ad free and comprehensive. Big fail Metservice

As everyone has said, we have paid for this app and now is free with Ads. Get rid of the ads or upgrade those people who have paid for it with no ads. Bring back the 1x4 widget as the 2x4 is way too big. Bring back the old app as it works a lot better and does not take as much time to load. Very disappointing upgrade. Used to love it but no longer.

Give us the 1x4 widget back. The new one takes up HALF my screen. I want to see the whole week. An update should add functionality, not lose it. My mum is thanking God she didn't have auto update on. She's sticking with the old version. And laughing at my useless hog of a widget.

Just need to add my voice to all the others. Not impressed with the new app. Much harder to get simple visual long term forecast and really annoyed that you have forced ads on me after i paid to get an ad free version. Will be looking for another provider unless you listen to your clients pretty rapidly.

The updated version of this app is rubbish. I paid for the add free version of the app but now it is free to everyone and full of adds. They have removed the 1x4 widget and the 2x4 widget takes up too much space and it doesn't provide you with any more useful info. You can no longer scroll left and right through the rest of the week. The new app appears clunky and a backwards step. Please refund my purchase.

We don't need no ads. The widget is too​ big and has no 3 day forecast like the old widget. Indeed even the app doesn't have a simple at a glance 3 day forecast. This app looks like it is more form over function now but with intrusive and slow ads. 1 Star

Having previously paid for it to now go to a free app with ads is very disappointing. This needs to be corrected! And on top op that the 3 day foreast starts with today's weather. That's already showing in the screen, today's weather is not a forecast. Absolutely useless!!

This was one of my most used apps and they've gone and ruined it! As others have already stated, putting ads in a formerly paid for app is poor form. My most used feature was the 4x1 widget and now that's gone. I don't have the spare screen real estate to show a wasteful 4x2 widget. The most useful feature they could have added was a zoomable rain radar, and they missed the boat completely.

Along with putting ads on a paid app, which is disgusting. The new app has reduced the radar and three day forecasts maps on the phone. They were already difficult to read. Now they are worse. They need to have maximum screen space. You have made them worse
