Beautiful Red Daisy Mushroom

Fun faux fungus is a little retro a lot cute! Spread a little cheerful whimsy with this colorful mushroom quickly made from STYROFOAM™ Brand foam and silk flowers.

Materials
STYROFOAM Brand Foam
Ball, 6"
Egg, 6"
Sheet, scraps

Other Materials
Lime green acrylic paint
Silk flower sprays: small red, 12; white daisies,
Lime green tissue paper, one large sheet
Silk butterfly
Clay pot, 4-1/2" tall, 6" wide

Tools
Serrated knife
Candle stub or paraffin
Pencil
Ruler
Medium flat paintbrush
Disposable palette
Water basin
Paper towels
Scissors
Wire cutters (optional)
Low-temp glue gun and glue sticks
Thick, white craft glue

Instructions
1. Paint clay pot lime green; let dry.

2. Wax serrated knife with candle stub or paraffin. Cut foam
ball in half; set aside one half for a future project. Cut a
thin slice from top and bottom of foam egg. Use glue gun to glue cut
side of half-ball to narrow end of egg, creating mushroom shape.

3. Use wire cutters or heavy-duty scissors to snip blossoms
from several sprays of red flowers. Use glue gun to glue
flowers to foam, very close together, to completely cover
surface. Trim daisy stems to 1" long and glue into foam as shown.

4. Cut scrap foam to fill clay pot to within 1" of top edge.
Use glue gun to secure foam inside pot. Glue mushroom to
center top of foam in pot. Be sure mushroom is secure.

5. Cut tissue paper into thin strips, 1/4" wide or less. Cut
strips into 6" lengths and glue into pot around base of
mushroom for grass. Hot glue butterfly to pot rim.
