ASTRO Pro for Android
Please install ASTRO File Manager first, then download and install ASTRO Pro application. There is no icon for ASTRO Pro, you do not need to run ASTRO Pro. ASTRO File manager will get the key from ASTRO Pro, no need to run the ASTRO Pro app.
More advanced than many computer-based file managers, Astro File Manager brings powerful file management and manipulation to virtually any Android-powered device. Furth More powerful than many computer-based file managers, Astro File Manager brings powerful file management and manipulation to virtually any Android-powered device. Further to this, there are plenty of options to tailor the experience and make it your own... My only complaint - for which it loses a star - is the lack of support for Ubuntu One.
Love the features and the cloud mappings. However I have a Nexus 6p and bought a Kingston 64gb Data traveler microDuo 3c drive to transfer files from my Nexus and it won't read it. Tried another file manager and it read it after I formatted it natively, but Astro Pro still won't recognize it. Please fix.
Bought the key a while ago, and it worked fine. However since upgrading my HTC Desire to the official Gingerbread release, it says that "Your device is not compatible with this item". What gives? The free (ad-supported) one still works, but I've paid for a key that now doesn't work! SORT IT OUT, METAGO!
First of all, Astro File Manager rocks. Its only downside is all of the ads in the free version. Astro Pro is not really a separate app version as such — what you're buying is a license key that bumps Astro into Pro mode and gets rid of the ads. For a one-time $4.99 payment, it's worth it. Think of the free version WITHOUT the Pro license as an ad-supported free-trial mode. If you like how it works in free-trial, drop five bucks on Metago and get the Pro license key. It's that simple.
On the middle of setting up locations again after update to marshmallow, the app completely removed itself from my phone! Why is this happening? This is the first app I ever paid for way back during Android 2.0. It's been a staple and workhorse for me over the years, faithfully handling app back-ups, and reinstalls through every Android I've every owned. I'm very sad that this is happening. Devs, please fix my beloved ASTRO. My files need type attention and support!
When Twitter made an update I didn't like, I used Astro to go back to an older version I had backed up. It's also good for installing apps copied into an SD card from the computer. And it does everything else it claims to. I felt like it was worth paying for, so I did.
I have bought it, I used to love it but starting too months ago it keeps asking for username and password and I don't like how it looks now. I got Android 5, there is no update available for this app, even if you told me once that I have an old version and I have to wait. I'm tired of waiting and I think I will give up the payment and uninstall this app, it only makes me nervous and nothing else.
I purchased this and it was great until a month ago. Now it keeps crashing when I try to access sdcard or internal memory, so it's basically useless. I have sent many crash details to them and they do nothing. They don't give a crap. I paid for it and now it doesn't work and they have been of no help. Extremely frustrated
I first put Astro on my Fender MyTouch 3G years ago, and it was excellent and very fast & user friendly. The last year or two worth of updates have all but gutted what made the app cool and useful. The appearance is too Apple-ish and even when the ad free "deluxe version" key is purchased the app still runs very slowly with jerky glitches all the time. It's still useable, which is why I still give it 3 stars, but Astro's glory days are gone...and that's a shame.
I downloaded and paid for it, but there is no icon, so I can't launch and use it. Emails have gone unanswered. When I tap on the original free version, it says "expired." UPDATE: Several days have passed and still no response the company. I have asked for a refund, but I'd rather have a working product. Update: Finally when I tapped on the old icon again, I was offered the option of installing Pro. All seems well now but this could be better implemented.
Works fine on phone - is UNACCESSIBLE through web. I suppose it works fine on the phone - as a file manager. It is impossible to verify because their website is absolutely unusable for access and their tech support is completely non-responsive and an absolute disgrace. Pity.
Still cannot get backup download to work. Have acct. But cannot get it to work just causes FC. Had to uninstall & reinstalled for app. To work again. Sent trouble report no answer. Got a survey question to fill out. How do you think I responded without even getting any kind of response? But got Survey How are we doing & what can we do to improve! Samsung Galaxy S2 T898 tmo.
Probably the worst file manager for android. Painfully slow every time you open the app, and doesn't provide any big benefits. I am rather happy with ES File Explorer which despite being free works faster and supports use of my HDD with NTFS partitions on th go. Buying this app was a waste of money
The best app is one where you're not conscious you're using an app, rather a natural, appendage to one's self. As one is not conscious to one's arm when the motion of turning keys turns to ignition, shiftinging, pedals, en toto. The core focus of attention when heading out in one's Mustang to enjoy the act of driving. Kinda like a good shifter, ...
I love the functionality of this app. It has been my go-to for a long time. Purchased the pro key while back to remove the in app ads. But recently, this there has been periodic ads when starting the app. Why are there ads for a fully paid pro version of the app??? To be clear,in app ads at bottom are gone with the pro license but the start-up ads started showing up. Is there a setting to disable ads?
Bought this right before they changed the interface. Astro is like a super model pretty on the outside broken underneath. Nothing works except the most basic file managing functions and basic networking like connecting to Dropbox(which I hate). Writhe the new interface they took everything that I was excited enough about to actually buy the key for it
Settings made in 'Preferences' do not stay. Cannot set correct USB directory nor change SDcard location nor set / as 'Home'. Received eMail this was fixed, have reinstalled and it is not fixed! Asus ICS built-in file manager does it better!! forget Astro!!
I've bought this & the new update has changed everything for the worse. Who writes this rubbish, whoever they are they need sacking. Will be uninstalling as others free that are better. RUINED A GREAT APP!
Do =NOT= buy this key unless you first verify that the "pro" features of the current version of the app will work specifically with your phone-set! Read the =NEWEST= comments (not the "most helpful"). Look specifically for comments from users with the same set as yours, and beware of =SHILL= comments!
Astro used to be the application to which others would be compared. It was lean, did exactly what you wanted, and stayed out of your way the rest of the time. Now, it is none of these things. I'm not bummed to have supported it but it'll likely be uninstalled nonetheless.
Not working! Fix it!....Pay to dump the ads. This should be the one paid app you have even if your cheap. Astro is a must have to organize folders. Pay the man. This is a given must have for any power user of an android device.
I find it very frustrating that this paid app won't save my viewing selections. Just want it to be in list view all of the time, but that isn't happening. Thanks, I'll be using File Expert instead.
Can't delete files with it now. Was just a folder with a single file.... Locked up file was about 20kb. Used to be the best. Now cluttered, doesn't do the simple functions I expected. So sad :'(
Amazing and useful app, but even the pro version has a full screen ad when starting. Very annoying, therefore only three stars Bad decision, please remove this again. For now: useless to buy pro key.
It has helped me immensely several times. Great interface and very intuitive. The backup could use filters for showing only apps backed up or not or out of date etc... Regardless, this is a must have for ANY phone! Thank you devs!
The file manager by itself is awesome. Add on modules like the SMB module don't work and support doesn't answer any support requests. After entering 3 different requests over the period of 4 weeks, I received no replies.
Head and shoulders above the competition! Probably the most used app on my phone! Well worth the $ for pro (I hate ads!). Extremely intuitive, off and running quickly. As easy and flexible as you need. 5 stars isn't enough!
I've always found Astro to be superior to other file manager apps, that's why I was willing to pay the $4 for it. Also, ads bother me bigtime. My only complaint is how almost every file and folder name is too long and wrapped to the next line..but that is just a minor GUI issue and not really a problem.
Recent update is bad. Please correct it. The app closed it self showed an error when try to open external SD card. PREVIOUSLY WORKING GREAT
The pros outweigh the cons by far! It's the best file manager for Android available PERIOD
I paid for the Pro version, yet I still have to look at the McAfee icon. There needs to be a way to disable/remove the icon. Other than that, great product with great support.
Does a good job at presenting the filesystem to you and giving you copy paste features and options for integrating the most common cloud storage services. Stays simple and easy to use. Not whiz-banged beyond usability.
NEW: NOW HAS ADS IN PAID VERSION. ORIGINAL: tablet was sent in for warranty work and they did not fix it, so I've been unable to root it again until I can prove it's messed up (that in and of itself is messed up). After a couple of months, I downloaded ASTRO again because I needed a file manager to work with (I still haven't sent my tablet back in) and when I ran ASTRO, WOW, what a difference! I haven't fully tested the whole app yet, but it seems back to being one of the best file managers in Market. Thanks Metago, keep up the good work. -1 star because you insist on displaying sdcard0 and sdcard1, but not my external card. Since most systems are different, let us customize these items and others.
I've been a long time satisfied PAID customer for a very long time. and today when I opened your app, I got a FULL PAGE/SCREEN (You can't do anything else) AD, I Fkn Hates ADs that's why I pay for all my apps. WTH is going on. You get a Minus One Star for that!

I bought ASTRO File Mgr Pro (key) a few months ago (February 2012), and all worked fine. However since the last Android upgrade, Google Play says that "This item is not compatible with your device". The free (ad-supported) one still works. I already sent two requests to METAGO support service and... nothing. They simply ignore the request. I've received an automatic message including a ticket number. I just want what I've paid for : a key that works, and not only for 2 months !
Es buen file manager, pero esta horrible comparado con otros file managers que ya tienen el look & feel más actualizado como Solid Explorer. --- Good file manager, but very ugly compared to other file managers with a modern look & feel like Solid Explorer.
Used to love the old version, really disappointed by the new one. Where the hell are all the functionalities gone? Miss especially the one of adding a group of song files to a playlist. How do I manage a list of shortcuts to my favorite folders as in the past?? Full of disappointment!
Very bad, I purchased and downloaded Astro file manager pro but it wasn't in my Cell phone and no Icon there is no way to open it. lourds

This was my first Android app manager. I always see new slick looking app managers that appear to offer new ways to manage files, but really its a lot of graphics and screens- too much actually. Move, search, edit, archive, view, share, freeze, properties, and a few other tools is All I have ever needed. I want to get in and out if I need to do something with a file. So intuitive and easy to accomplish tasks quickly. And when I'm doing something with a file i usually need it quick on the fly.
