Works well with MD Versions Prior to 2015 This app hasn't been updated in a few years. It will work with Moneydance 2015, but NOT if you use budgets. Since I'm not really happy with MD 2015, I reverted back to MD 2014 and am using HandyBank with Android 6 Marshmallow without any issues. If you are going to use a version of MD later than 2014, I would not purchase this app. The MD developer has their own (free) app that will work with capturing transactions on-the-fly you can use but it doesn't do all the things HandyBank does (no budgets, no reminders, poor user interface). Having said that, though, the developer for HandyBank has said that all the proceeds from purchasing the app goes to charity, so it is still worthwhile to get it if you are staying with an older version of MD.
Using this because it is the only option available for Moneydance sync functionality. I can record records on my phone but the sync to my desktop and tablet don't occur until I open the desktop program. I wish this was not the case. I feel I'm caught between a rock and a hard place until the infinite kind produces their promised Android app version which is supposed to be soon. One can only hope.
Stopped Syncing from mobile to desktop
I have used this program on a Samsung Infuse, an LG Nitro HD, Kindle Fire, Asus Transformer, and even a CM9 HP Touchpad. All sync using Dropbox flawlessly. I wish the category could be linked to the last transaction of a vendor, like the IOS Moneydance program, but this sync solution is much more reliable than the WiFi sync of the IOS program. I haven't tried the WiFi syhnc with Handybank, but since I already had a Dropbox account, this was a no brainer.
I find this a great product for recording purchases "in the field", then syncing with MoneyDance at home. Previously I used a different product on my phone, then laboriously re-entered them into Quicken at home. Now, HandyBank and MoneyDance synch quickly and effortlessly via WifFi whenever I want. I gave it four stars, but with an autofill capability, I would give it the full 5 stars. Thanks for a great, useful product.
This app has really come a long way and super smooth now however one annoyance is that it sync on startup. This just slows you down when you want to enter a quick transaction. Would be awesome if you could to choose to sync when closing the app or only when you force a sync. That way you can quickly enter your ATM withdraw, close the app and drop your phone in your pocket to let the sync take place when you are doing something else. Using on SGN Android 4.1.1, codename android custom ROM.
I can't believe I paid money for this thing. It only syncs from your computer to the app when in use but never the other way around. The amount on the app is never updated until you use the program on your computer. And both have to be on at the same time. The sync process has to be constantly updated on the computer process to work. Very disappointing.
Was looking for app to sync with Quicken. Found handybank that syncs with Moneydance. Really like it. Wish i could schedule bills ln handybank though. I am now using handybank and moneydance. Will only sync if Moneydance has been run since last sync.
Since the update, HandyBank closes every time I try to enter a new transaction. In addition, I can't exit with the "Back" button, no many how many times I press it; I can only exit with the Quit command from the menu. Samsung Galaxy Nexus GSM international unlocked version, ICS 4.0.2. Trying to uninstall and reinstall.
I have used this and use it on a couple of current Android products, but can't get it to set up with dropbox on a new Transformer TF300. I did get it to finally set up with "wifi", but it would not sync the next day after updating moneydance bank files. I work in IT and am a very good troubleshooter, but have yet to get this to work. Have deleted data several times from the app and reinstalled a couple of times to no avail.
Sync's easily with MoneyDance on my desktop, laptop and my iPod. Fairly easy setup. Using this app on a Droid 3...
This and Moneydance work great together. I like option for dropbox sync. Easy set up also. Developer seems responsive to feedback using contact info given on blog section of Moneydance. (review January 25, 2012) This update today is great. The only thing I felt missing was the TAGS. They have added tags, and now I can go into Handybank and put everything in, without later having to go in and add tags in MOneyDance. GREAT JOB
I have been using this for 6 months now since giving up on Quicken. Flawless and loving the updates. Would like to see it sync with my tablet without syncing Money dance first.
This app is very good but after it has synced with Moneydamce on my PC it leaves Moneydance on my PC in an unsaved state. I dont like this so I have rated this app with 4 stars.Very nice interface - user friendly and apart from the above gripe everything works as it should do.
Great product! This was very easy to set up to sync with drop box.
Neither WiFi or Dropbox work!
I've been using this app for a few weeks now, and it works flawlessly. Moneydance is probably the best personal finance software available, and Handybank makes it even more useful. Does all you need on the move, without unnecessary frills. I use direct wireless sync and it's never failed.
When will there be an update for compatibility with Moneydance 2012?
Great functionality
After years of effort to find an online accounting system for my family, the combination of moneydance and handybank has the winner. We have been using it for several months now. The only problem we have had so far was when we were both trying to edit at the same time, some transactions had to be reentered. As an author of a different financial program, I give it my highest praise.
I wish I could find a direct contact for the developer, but none is given at their website. I've had two issues: One, at first it did not load enough transaction data to give me a complete picture of my accounts and the balances between HandyBank and Moneydance didn't agree. I changed the sync settings to 365 days and that seems to have resolved the issue, but I'm not sure why 30 days wasn't sufficient. Two, the amount entry when creating a new transaction drives me crazy! For some reason it usually requires two presses to start the first digit. So if I press 1 2 3 4, it shows 2.34, missing the first keypress. Yuck! This is on a SGS2. It's easily reproducible if I hit delete enough to clear the field and the start entering a new number. I suspect it might have something to do with the two decimal places that are forced which I don't care for anyway.
Finally an app that duplicate what pocket quicken used to do. Syncs well, keep all balances and transaction history on NS4G accessible at all times. Would like to see a quick transaction entry widget on a future release. Good job.
Awesome! I have been using Moneydance for Linux for several years. (Since I got tired of the Quicken forced upgrade over complicated software plan.) It is a simple program that this little app compliments nicely. Great job to the developer, wifi works sweet.
I spent so much time on this trying to make it work that I got billed for the program. I am using the recent Motorola Atrix 2 running the latest version of Gingerbread which is the best Android phone I've owned to date. I have loaded about 50 programs and a number of them sync ALL with no problems. This is the first program marked compatible that did not work. I have synced with the phone over wireless, Bluetooth, and using Ethernet with no problems. I wanted this to work with wi-fi for me and my wife but when I click add device nothing happens except the error message that Handy-Bank Extension cannot find any device running Money-Dance; am I missing something? I knocked the firewall off the wireless gateway, and dropped the firewall in the computer which is win7 with no success. I really want this to work in the simplest way possible for my wife. If I am missing something please let me know. I looked for something to set because thought the error message might say "Money-Dance or Handy-Bank" in the error message. If anyone sees cockpit error please do not be bashful. I've been using computers for over 30 years so not bashful about asking. You will not hurt my feelings.
Flawless syncing between my desktop and two mobile devices.
No problems
App
It's getting better & better. Wish for Google Drive support beside the Dropbox.
Does not sync from phone. No official Android application from Moneydance, all they care about is iPhone iPhone iPhone.. Android users abandoned.
Works great with moneydance pc!

Was working fine on my HTC One until the recent update. Now shortly after minimizing the app I always receive a "unfortunately HandyBank has quit....." Message, and I have to go in and close it manually.
I have been using this for awhile now. I have always made sure I am up-to-date in relation to the Moneydance extension. Sometimes, the transactions sync over okay but more often, I end up losing all the transactions that I have entered in the Handy Bank application. When I do get the transactions to sync over, it remains a considerable task getting the data to move over from Handy Bank application to Moneydance via Dropbox. I instruct it to request a sync but lots of times, it just doesn't register. I can't not see a way to force the transactions to be sent over.
First off just want to say thanks. This app works great. I am using it currently on a Note 2, S3, and a Note 10.1. Once syncing is setup I have no issues on any devices. Using this on 2 previous devices with similar success. Occasionally getting it paired for the first time can be tricky. Just follow the directions in the documentation and you should be fine.
the app is ok to use... it does the sync job missing from moneydance (no app for android)... I am waiting for a new version with the option to attach the receipts/invoices/docs that is not supported by moneydance. as well some simple reports where you can analize your accounts while on the go...
Having migrated from IOS to Android, I have no choice but to use Handybank. It works but interface is so dated/clunky compared to the MD IOS app. And it appears not to have been updated since May 2013? Any active support? One bug I discovered quickly is that it cannot distinguish between active and inactive categories in MD, which is annoying. As someone highlighted, the PIN security needs to be fixed quickly as it is a serious bug, which can only be avoided if you remember to close the app and not just exit. I wish MD makes their own Android app!
If you quit the app, then go back into it, you can disable or change the PIN even if you don't know the current PIN because the settings themselves are not protected by the PIN. Hopefully this is just a temporary glitch that will be fixed in a future version. Other than that problem, I don't need Quicken anymore!!!!! :) YEAH FOR THIS APP!!!
This app has really come a long way and super smooth now however one annoyance is that it sync on startup. This just slows you down when you want to enter a quick transaction. Needs to have Google Drive integration and better ui to data input. Have had corruption when syncing from mobile to desktop if there were changes to both.
