About E-MB
In its constant Endeavour to improve monitoring and implementation of various civil works under the Government schemes by Public Health Engineering Department, An Electronic Measurement Book (e-MB) is a system to improve efficiency in capturing data for monitoring, to improve the productivity of field level engineers and possibly planning for civil development works.
The e-MB is envisaged as a data set stored in central server which can be approached through hand held device which would also have basic computing features and hence would also.
The e-MB not only include aid to the technical staff in preparation of estimates for works, better record keeping and planning etc but also the recording photographs of the works valued with imprinting geo co-ordinates of the work location.
The manual process of capturing information for civil works is cumbersome given the spatial and temporal spread of the works.
Currently valuation of works by field level personnel is recorded in a measurement book. The development of an e-MB would eliminate the need of manually recording the data. Valuation recorded in the e-MB is transferred directly into the MIS. Hence, this would improve productivity of the technical personnel.
