Memory Angel

Memory Angel is a new, innovative service developed to assist carer's in supporting people who need care and would like to continue living independently.
As a carer you register on the Memory Angel website, www.memoryangel.com. On the website you can create and manage reminders of important events in the daily life of the person you are caring for. The person in care uses the Memory Angel smartphone application, which displays and reads out the reminders you create for them. A reminder provides a full screen display on the phone, with an accompanying sound. To acknowledge the reminder, the person only needs to touch anywhere on the screen. There are no fiddly buttons to have to find. It's easier than turning on a light.
On the website you can see the status of the reminders, the phone status, location and other important information.
Of course, as Memory Angel runs on a smartphone, they may choose to use the other features of the phone as well.
Memory Angel has been designed to be used by people living independently, receiving care from either a relative or a professional caregiver.
There are many potential users of the service including people with dementia / Alzheimer’s, recent head injuries, mental illness, or just anyone who is starting to get a but forgetful.
