Первый бар сети открылся в 2003 году. В 2007 году сеть (на тот момент 2 бара) получила премию «Меню&Счет» журнала «Time Out» как лучший бар в Санкт-Петербурге.

«Проходимец» - это бар на каждый день. Такие бары мы встречаем повсюду в мире. Здесь нет ультра-модного диджея или вычурной барной миксологии, к интерьеру не прикасалась рука трендовых дизайнеров, да и мишленовских шефов тут не найдешь. Мы в первую очередь делаем ставку на теплую, дружескую атмосферу заведений. Здесь все по-настоящему. Качественные, понятные блюда, отличные напитки, дружеский сервис и всегда актуальная рок и поп музыка.
