MegaCast - Chromecast player

When it works, I love it! Unfortunately, 3 out of 4 times it can't find my central file server on my home LAN. I don't know why, ES File Explorer and other apps have no trouble connecting to it. Also unfortunately, the app doesn't allow manual entry of the IP address to connect with, so I can't even try to troubleshoot further. I'd happily change this rating to a 5, if the MegaCast team has a solution to this that I am missing.

This app took me to install another app pro version( without that app this was not working) which was paid and i paid 6€ but the pro version didn't installed and.. Cheater developers.. i have emailed to support team .. Refund my euros. If you ask i can share the details of my payments... Please dont cheat people... Refund my euros

App has worked great for a long time. I have the paid version and now it continually closes before it has even opened good. Started after the latest upgrade. This needs to be fixed ASAP and I will change my rating and write a new review. I've submitted my log files numerous times.

The ad loaded but the movie won't. I gout this to play Kodi movies and tv shows. It will play my personal videos taken with my phone but not the steaming ones. Just have an add for mega cast premium. Doubt I'll go premium if the other doesn't work

Well i used megacast for a long time but now it doesnt work. The button to cast to my tv doesnt even pop up anymore but convientley the button to buy this app is still there. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Its a shame it was a great app.

I've found the app to be very hit-and-miss. I tried 12 different video files and it was only able to play 5 of them. It happens with mkv and mp4 files. I can play files fine in Localcast and VLC. I also notice the replies to posts here are very repetitive. I won't be upgrading to premium.

Got it for Chromecast audio transcoding but it doesn't seem to work. Also asks for login credentials for EACH folder on my SMB enabled NAS separately which is a joke.

App works great. I have a Galaxy Note 8 and the phone ends up being forced to restart about 15 minutes into the movie. Very frustrating.

Was sick of not being able to cast Avi files from torrents I downloaded on my phone. So far this the only one that play that for no problem. Other people seem to have problems but everything smooth on s8+

Ideally great concept lf app worked how it should everyime you want to use. Seems like aftr the most recent update. Torrents dwnld so slow, the volume is extremely low, and it crashes constantly..

Was working fine until almost at the end of my movie it stoped working and wouldn't start up again. Pure unsatisfying failure. Thanks for nothing

I never could get the app to work. I even upgraded to the premium option. I have a Samsung 8+ and old school Samsung Tablet 4.0. I also tried to cast on both of my Chromecasts....original model and #2 . I sort of want my money back.

Sounded just what I needed to play my Avi files but it does not play Avi?? I get the message on my Chromecast that xvid codec is needed????

Lately this app has not been working and not connecting to the TV. Huge disappointment. Have to reinstall it every time in order for it to work

I had a problem recently and was really suprised when the developers responded to my post and done me right. Now I am once again enjoying Megacast, still have things to learn about it but I find that although I am on premium I still get ads but it is not from the app but another one I use with it.

It's great if you like obtrusive ads in an app that doesn't work well. If that sounds good, enjoy! I will be happy to eat my words and change my review if the update helps.

I think it always stuffing up every couple of days. It says megacast isn't responding and it's so annoying because then I can't watch a movie.

This app was garbage to me. Sorry for the creators of it but how is this app not able to find itself to play a simple video?? I'm very disappointed.

It works some of the time but with the likes of kodi, mx player and vlc I don't understand why it transcodes it when it should be able to play local files without it. Which means even in a super fast connection you get buffering like nobody's business.

Non premium version useless. Tried playing video on chromecast. Long time loading, ad and then failed to load. Just showed a megacast ad on the tv.

Great job. Makes all the rest sit looking bad and sad. This app rocks.

For some reason, while watching a movie it kicks me out and stops the movie. No matter how many times I restart, the same thing keeps happening. Then I get a message saying that "Chromecast" can't be found...so, I have to reboot several times. I'm getting very annoyed and frustrated!!

This app starts playing music in the background several hours after I use it. It was difficult to figuree out what was doing this as their was no other indication that the app was still running. The only way to stop it is to force stop the app. This totally ruins an otherwise good app.

Overrode the built-in subtitles with its own, misguessed, subtitles. Lots of language choices for CC that were all wrong and no way to use those included in the mkv....

After adds it starts casting video in good quality but keeps cutting of and shutting down after a while.... Isn't there a good mp4, avi casting app that doesn't suck?

Don't bother will not play anything on my NAS and keeps telling me my Chromecast has disconnected. Don't waste your time and definitely don't waste your money paying for it.

This was good till my phone was repaired and reset .Now I do not have the pro version I paid for . Is there any way I can get it back or do I have to pay again ? It was not the cheapest of apps but did the job . Thanks for any help :+)

It's great. Although, have found when it stops working getting it up and running again can be slow.

This app takes too damn long to load anything from another app to view. Netflix casts instantly. Fix this app.

Pitch said it would remove all ads. However megacast overlay still on after purchase. I am afraid of monitor burn in. Should at least have option to turn off on settings for purchasers.

Even though I purchased the premium app I get the watermark 60% of the time when playing a video, seems to really struggle casting compared to free apps. What a waste of money.

Doesn't do real time transcoding from Kodi links. I keep getting your blue logo screen. Am I doing something wrong or do need to get the premium version to get all the codecs.

I paid for the premium version, but now I'm getting ads when I start up to buy the premium version. Why is this happening? My rating will remain at dislike until this is fixed!

I can not open the 4 items I have on megacast. They are little short video of my granddaughters. Now they are held hostage by this app. I hate the app and I want my videos back

No longer recognizes my premium account, transcoding has never worked, now it no longer streams any movies I download. Dissatisfied

I paid, I think $5 for this app, the only app I ever paid for and if I go to watch a movie from show box or any other movie app through chrome cast, and it doesn't work through all cast, I have tried to use Mega cast to play the movie and it hasn't worked one time. I've had it for, 2-3 years, so I've tried it at least a couple of dozen times. For me, it's all cast for chrome cast or bust, and because of Megan's cast, I will never ever pay for another app

Useless. Wouldn't load any videos, regardless of file size or format. Must be something else wrong, but a very far cry frpm "any video format*

A year ago I gave this four stars and wrote it would be good to have a function to resume videos from the last watched position. The developer replied and said they planned to add this feature after the holidays. A year later and the only thing that seems to have changed is the introduction of full video advertisements streaming to your Chromecast. The awful interface is still exactly the same, along with the 20% chance that your video will actually play. I'm done with this app.

Paid for premium version but it's not transcoding neither avi nor mkv files, just circling and no transcoded files written anywhere on Hudl2. MP4 files are OK on chromecast2.
