App can't/won't access phone (LG G4) or tablets (Sam. Gal. Tab and Tab2) "Extsdcard" or OTG connected USB flash drive storage so can't transfer data. Useless app=useless hdd

Use it for music, video (in all kinds of formats) and as a backup for programs. The video aspect depends on the device used to watch it, not all systems can deal with all kind of formats (e.g. Playstation can't deal with .flv) but in general it does what it needs to. Is it perfect, nope but then it depends greatly on your setup, using it hardwired or by means of a wifi-router etc.

Streams pics and music. No video. So my plan t to use this drive as NAS kind of collapsed.

Reason for buying the HDD was the supposed ability to manage files from my Android phone. However as the home screen (shown in the Manual) is not actually present in the app, transferring files within the HDD itself is not possible. Negates my reason for buying this HDD
