511 Transit

yup,as almost everyone else has stated, the app is no better than website in providing accurate transit departure times. regardless of agency ,if the website has been giving you inaccurate times,so will this app. I think they are actually getting worse over time as ive taken actransit for about a year & remember them being at least generally helpful before. try the nextbus app.

This app works if there are no delays or problems, however, because we live in the real world, this means that that this app can only offer what are general suggestions as to when a train or bus might arrive. My last straw was was the fact that long planned Spring maintenance on the Bart line were not even mentioned in the routing schedule... even the old 511 call in system works better than this app.

This an awesome Go-To app for navigating the city on public transportation

What once used to be my favorite public transportation app has now become a frustration and unreliable headache for any of my public transportation needs. The app does not load my location and when it does the list of buses and trains nearby lasts a second to three seconds IF I'm lucky. It seems to always revert back to a screen that reads "No schedules have been found. You could try to increase the walk duration to find trips" This NEVER works even when I'm at a Bart station or my bus stop! GARBAGE

Good if you're looking for routes. TERRIBLE to use if you need to get anywhere within any sort of time window. Use other muni apps for city buses. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

I use this app a lot with SamTrans on the Peninsula. It's usually ok with arrival times and such. What makes it just "OK" for me is the fact that it will sometimes claim that no schedule can be found. This comes up immediately after it correctly finds the schedule for my stop. The error pops over the results and I have to try to restart the query and try to blink to read what the schedule says.

Some times the bus don't come at all. some times the bus don't come when your schedule says. Your system is not correct. Please fix times.

Useful to all designed for people that dont know the system . If you do know the busses sometimes you can catch certain busses in cross route to shorten your trip .if that makes any sense. App could be better but heck what do you expect for tri delta lol

Never not once has it got the bus arrival time right and I been using it for a month and its hard at the best of time to times its directions and it can never make its mind on what it thinks I should do. don't use

I have used many other traffic applications that dealt with travel and this is by far the best. The bus schedule is taken from information that is beamed into the system so that you know exactly when the bus is going to be there. And if you have a phone that has GPS You're In Like Flint because it will direct you right to the nearest pickup. I have never been disappointed by this app and I have used it for over 5 years

Timing are unaccurate everytime

Do NOT use this if you are hoping to get anywhere on BART when it isn't a weekday. BART runs on a published schedule. This is the official app for using public transportation in the Bay Area. It should know when the train is going to depart on Sunday afternoon to get you to San Francisco on time. But it doesn't. FAIL.

Used to be my favorite app. Now it fails to find routes. Basically useless.

Not accurate times

I like the app it is pretty much accurate most of the time. But i think u guys should make a button so that when it says that the bus should be here now u should let us confirm that cause right now the bus is late or it went by early cause it said arriving in 3min n its not here

Answer for the code, no driving directions

Updated version will not find any server, bus time or route. Pathetic update.

Poor user interface, key information hard to find (to much text and clutter)

I don't know if the problem is with VTA or this app, but the real-time departures feature is completely wrong most of the time. I've been giving the app a try for about 3 months and it isn't accurate enough to be reliable.

If you're unfamiliar with the area and routes, neither the maps nor the walking details are even half as useful as the walking directions given on the actual website. In a place like downtown Berkeley where buses make loops before heading out in unpredictable directions, this is a critical issue. This app lacks alerts, updates, and accurate bus times. There are also some issues with the user interface within the app being a little unintuitive. It could use an overhaul, but offers some basic functionality.

This might be a useful app as far as mapping out a public transit route, but the departure times are almost never right. Guaranteed to make you late if you trust it.

Great app, I don't know why people are complaining....

They have a long way to go if they want anyone to use this app.

Can't connect between Caltrain stations.

The app used to be excellent, but after the recent updates I can hardly rely on its search function. It often fails to find any nearby nearby transportation options even when I am just at a major transit center.

Works great for me, isnt always accurate about showing all the bus routes in trip mode you need good addresses to plug in

Best app for ac transit

I use this all the time to make adjustments to my commuting schedule. Sometimes I have found it best to use transit hubs rather than actual start and end points. Walking the last half mile or so is faster than taking the bus.

It has all the buttons you need for planning a trip, and making adjustments if you spent a few minutes getting out the door. The schedule feature isn't very well synced up, with ac transit at least, and the icon could use a makeover. But overall, just what I need when I'm trying to figure out how to get somewhere.

Accurate

This app won't allow u to input a time like the website does. Incredibly bad layout and accessibility.

The app is great but it drains my battery. It launches in the background and I have to keep force stopping. Uninstalled.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..this is a must to have. Expecially if its your FIRST TIME commuting by public transit.

Once worked for me, no more. Doesn't give schedule for AC Transit buses from the nearest bus stop to me. Nor does it show either AC Transit buses #99 or 93. Totally useless app. Would not recommend it to anyone. Proplems with the website as well. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone as well!

Overall this app is useful and presents lots of info. However the maps flicker in large rectangles, even on wifi. It redraws over itself with small offsets so you cant read it. Scrolling the map moves only the route, not the map. Pinch zoom is ridiculously sensitive. Also the app will not use cell towers or WiFi to determine location, though my phone is configured to allow it, but only GPS.
