smart cross connect USA for Android
This app is great when it works. Unfortunately, at least for galaxy note 8 and newer androids, it malfunction way more often than it functions. PLEASE UPDATE APP TO NEWER ANDROID DEVICES LIKE SAMSUNG NOTE 8!
App works really well. I love how my car's voice command function calls up Google Assistant. Really cool functionality and a really smart design!
This app works very well in our new Smart car. While I have read complaints about the navigation system it has worked well for us. The different screens for when the app is used in hand versus in the car are pretty ingenious. Be sure to search for and download the instruction manual, which you will find on a simple Google search. Not all features in the manual are supported in the US version, but most are. The metrics the app tracks are detailed and fun. You can check fuel economy and average speed and similar info for your past 20 trips after the trip is completed using the hand held version of the app. Only negative is with the Smart car phone cradle, which only fits smaller smart phones.
Terrible app. Why does it need to shut off my Bluetooth streaming and switch back to terrestrial radio? FIX IT!
Should be able to "Random", "Shuffle"- randomly play shuffled music that is stored on your device with no issues including loosing connectivity to BT. Thank you.
Keeps crashing every time I try to use it. When it does work it's hard to see. The Radio part is useless you would think you could control the mid-range you can't. And the radio just sounds bad.
It continually is crashing. Unable to connect at all now. Frustrating and extremely disappointing.
Turns on the radio every time it starts. Map is clunky and out of date. Speed limit feature is flat out wrong on all of the roads I tested it on. G-force feature is useless (it only shows on axis). Fuel consumption feature is less useful than the in-dash display. It is all around a bad app. The only possible use would be to control the radio if you are using the stock phone cradle which blocks easy access to the radio buttons. Update for the version released on September 13, 2016 All of the old complaints are still valid and now there is a new one: random crashes. Still almost no reason to use this app and given that Google Auto now works on phones without a head unit, I just don't see a need for it.
The radio and telephone works adequately enough, as does the local music function. Using the smartphone touchscreen is more convenient than programming the radio pushbuttons. The speed and fuel economy functions are too elementary and would be served better with a numerical readout, the desert/urban/forest graphics are too broad, I'd rather see a graph. These two functions are redundant, since the dash has the same readouts in different form. Not being able to change Nav settings while moving is inconvenient but I understand the safety reason.
OK, this is a work in progress... I hope. A few things work well, the radio controls and telephone controls, but everything else needs a lot of work and there are things that should be part of this app that aren't. 1. Allow users to integrate their favorite apps into cross connect. Most car apps will allow you to call up apps from their app. For example, the navigation in cross connect isn't very good so let me link to Google Maps or Waze from cross connect so I have to tap fewer times. 2. It would be great if the "OK Google" voice command worked while my phone was connected to my car. Now I can say "OK Google" and it pops up on my screen but it doesn't pick up anything else I say and so it is rendered useless. Having this work would allow me to make calls and enter a place to navigate to via voice command. 3. The app needs better integration with the rest of the audio system. I would rather keep my music on a USB drive in the second USB port and save space on my phone. This currently doesn't work with the cross connect app. Make these changes and fix the navigation in cross connect and I will love it!
Usb needs to be accessible through app
Just plain fantastic. Intuitive yet powerful UI. Go MB!

Radio control works fine. In fact, that's about the only thing it does well. Quickly...Streaming apps? No. Useable navigation? No. Beyond the fact that the navigator sound is much lower than the radio, it doesn't do street names. Also, mine doesn't allow you to control media played through USB. I love the radio control, but it's honestly not worth the trouble. Update: I deleted this many months ago in favor of Google Auto. Why? Pandora. I installed this again to if maybe MB figured it out added a music streaming app. Nope. Having your phone as the LCD screen is such a good idea. If I had known this is what we'd be stuck with I would have waited for the built-in unit.
