PDF Max Pro - The PDF Expert! for Android
Some issues were fixed so I updated this. This is the same review I put on the non pro version. Good amount of.annotation options which are readily accessed. If it will not open a file saying invalid file, change the app permissions and give it storage access. For Google drive, upload your file to Google drive and open it from PDF Max to download it to your device. To sync it after making annotations, use the back arrow to go to the main Google drive page and it will say uploading file at the bottom.
Give us at least direct access to save button while we are annotating documents. This is the best of all paid PDF apps I have tried, but it is unstable. Just before the end of reading and annotating 30 pages file from Google Drive, the app just close the document and returns to file browser. All work lost!!!
I believe we've all been swindled and there should be a lawsuit brought against the company offering this app. I was using the free one and then was notified by purchasing the app I would be able to flatten copies. It worked for 3 Days and never again. I have contacted so called customer support several times with ZERO RESPONSE! CAN GET A REFUND!
Some one said they can't understand the one star reviews. Lol if you cannot even open a pdf locally, in Dropbox and from a email without the app crashing. Then open a help ticket and after 7 days of nothing and several emails nothing, this developer is a joke. YOU PURCHASE THIS APP AT YOUR OWN RISK IT CRASHES AND DOES NOT WORK FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE !!!!
Got this program looking for a replacement to PDF Expert on iOS, but cannot use it now due to "Invalid File" error when opening my document. Documents open fine on other apps. As others mentioned, it appears to be caused when using the program in Marshmallow. It seemed to work properly in Lollipop. I am disappointed and cannot recommend it until this is fixed. Hopefully they will address this soon.
This app has a lot of nice features, but crashes at least once every time I use it. This makes using it very frustrating. Don't waste your money. Buy a different pdf app
Just prior to the December 2015 release (version 4.6.3), I was reasonably happy with the app. The Dec '15 release is highly unstable. It crashes on my Jelly Bean tablet, never saving any of my annotations. The issue appears tied to memory usage, as accessing files in native memory allow the app to run for several minutes, while files pulled from an SD card or cloud storage illicit an immediate crash of the system. Don't suppose reverting back to the previously released build is an option. It's approaching August, 2016. Don't suppose there's a new release in the wings that's stable on version 4.2 of the android platform.
Doesn't recognize any of my PDF files. All were made in Adobe Acrobat 11. Useless. Won't allow me to change the app's root folder and File Manager doesn't recognise the default root. A mess. Don't d/l this crap.
I now regret purchasing this app. It used to be my go to app and worked fairly well except for the poor eraser that erased chunks of my annotations rather than erasing finely. I've emailed the developers repeatedly for about 2 years but they've done nothing, now the app has become unusable. I get the message, "invalid file" for every PDF I try to open, whereas all other apps I've tried have effortlessly opened the same PDF files.
Works fine until you want to print the document you wrote on. The writing appears on the screen but does not show up when printed. PLEASE FIX.. this is a very vital app to my work.
Wasted money. Adding with text blocks or ink looks great in the app, but renders as a total mess in any other reader. Changes made in the app with just about any of the tools simply don't look anywhere near correct in other readers. Uninstalled and reinstalled, now it won't even open a pdf. It keeps saying "Invalid File". So, a PDF isn't a valid file for "PDF Max"? Brilliant!
I have a Nexus 9 and a OnePlus 3. This app is stopped working on both of them. I've submitted several crash reports to let the developer know what's going on, but I've heard no response. That was months ago. Uninstalling and reinstalling made no difference. Dropping my review to one star until it starts working again.
The pro program isnt able to create a folder to save files eventhough it says save as into folder PDFMAX...the folder doesnt exist and have lost many files for work.
I tried to download a PDF file to this last night and it wouldn't except it. I tried everything for $10 come on guys seriously i needed a good PDF program for legal documents and all i got was screwed around. I want a refund also email sent regarding the DISSOPOINTMENT of this app.
Will not save flattened files. Useless do not buy.
Crashes and does not run on Nougat 7.1.1, sad to see that app not updated in 2 years - Old review when i used with kitkat - Much like Good reader for iPad, biggest plus is it's ability to add outlines, fast page extraction, thumbnail view and etc. etc. Wish devs update to a better outline editor and manager, Thanks, worth the money..
Good when working. Doesn't always sync properly. Files will shown up one time, then not be there the next time.
Works great if your files are on a cloud storage device like OneDrive, etc. Can't seem to be able to access files on local storage such as my phone's Download directory. :-(
flattening pdf does not work. support didn't reply to my email regarding error and crashes (I have been waiting for over 10 days). Could I have my money back???
It is fantastic in that you can add pages and works quickly, a few glitches like having to use the stamp function to add pictures and the free text box cannot be resized in the Android version but love the handwriting function.
I really like this app for has helped my in my school work and study's. Just one thing it needs to be added is share files.
Considering everything offered, I don't understand anyone telling people to stay away. I tried numerous apps and challenge anyone to find one that offers all the features found in this one. I see apps getting over 4 stars that don't come close to the same functionality of what I used to need several apps to accomplish. My ONLY request is the addition of PDF scanning to complete the app. But expecting prompt daily tech support on an app that's this cheap and bashing the developer is beyond ridiculous.
I've own this app for a couple if years. It has serious bugs and on every iteration, update, release they're there. I work with pdfs daily so far android lacks a good pdf app. This one was has great features but it's completely unusable. Annotations DISAPPEAR... Save's DISAPPEAR... It crashes and even with auto save on your work DISAPPEARS... You try to open a pdf and it gives yo an INVALID FILE! error. In the past I wrote the developer and he did answer but nothing changed. Don't trust it your hard work!
Coming from an iPad to Android, I miss Goodreader! (It is one of the few things I miss). PDF Max 4 is the closest to it I have found in Android. The commands and interface are someimes hard to figure out, not intuitive at all. And any markups I do don't seem to carry over to other PDF readers (like Adobe on my PC). This last is frustrating, and I hope that the promised flattening feature will cure this. If so, I would rate it 5 stars. Good interface with Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box (yes, I use all 3). Update 09/24/2015: App reverts to first page of PDF if switch to another app or after a little time left inactive. I was in a 300 page PDF book, and it just jumped to the first page in the middle of reading/annotating. Other docs, if I switch to another app then switch back to PDF Max, the doc will also revert to the first page. Frustrating. Downgraded to 3 stars. Using PDF Max Pro, latest version. Update 2/2016: Crashes a lot since update. Flatten doesn't seem to work. Frustrating.

I was an early adopter and have gone through all the updates, some horrible others better. Company continues to make updates and upgrades that have made this app very stable and now useful.
Bought this app to avoid ads and it worked. Thought it will automatically register the annotations but it doesnt as it requires flattening. So it doesnt register the annotations done when printing. None at all! Emailed the support twice but no response. It works great forother features but a disappointment in capturing the annotations permanently.
This App is a waste of money, does not flatten annotations on my SGN4.. Utter rubbish. Crashes indiscriminately.
But I use it on android tv box and it can't scroll page with scrolling mouse
I should have read the reviews before purchasing this crappy expensive app. Fast scrolling, jump to a specific page or accessing your annotations crashes the app. Wondering if I'll see a day when they will fix it. Don't waste money on this app.
Down loaded to close open Adobe files to be able to print the out on my phone . Need a patch for Android just down load the free one instead of buying it like I did. Has useful apps
When I want to "save as" it just gives me an unfilled form. 1star until fixed. Using the latest version. Also no response from their support team on twitter and email.
Needs lot of improvement. In pdf reflow pictures are missing, word selection for lookup is lousy. These features are available in repligo Reader. The caret sign to turn the pages is big distraction. Waste of money, glad that 50 percent was off, at least saved 50 percent on the app.
I am happy with all but when I install stamp/ custom/ pictures on reopening the inserted pictures go fuzzy and are unreadable I also can't find the pictures to print can you help and advice
Won't open any pdf files on my SGS7e. Another example of a good ios app poorly ported to Android.
Great App! Works well even on Remix OS. The editing feature would be improved if the app had a whiteout function that would over-write PDF text.
When keyboard is shown on my device, form field selection is way off unless you zoom in. Keeps selecting a different field than I pressed! Also there is no option to align text to center or right in form fields... App auto aligns to the left even if the field defaults to a center alignment (i created the PDF fields with paperport software). Also takes forever to get Dropbox metadata. There is a much faster way for a third party app to navigate DB folders without all that metadata. Just make those fix plz!
Not so Max! Cannot open PDF forms created with Adobe software. Other free apps can open okay. HTC Google Nexus 9.
As good a PDF annotator as I have found. One of my favorites, actually. However, syncing with Drive or Onedrive is incredibly inconsistent and unreliable. I have to keep a local copy of any files I need, then re-upload them using a file manager.

Mobile app is all around decent. We have a couple of employees using it. One concern is lost data/info as it has happened on multiple occasions. An option to enable an autosave feature at certain time intervals would be great. It would also be nice for the app to recognize and utilize java scripts embedded in the pdf as some of our documents make use of it.
