About Happy Janmashtami Photo Frames 2017
You may think that Janmashtami is celebrated only in India as this was the birthplace of Lord Krishna. But actually no. Janmashtami is celebrated in countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Fiji, USA, Caribbean Islands, etc. For Nepal, one can imagine the obvious reasons as it has announced themselves a Hindu country. But for rest parts of the world, a lot of credit goes to International Society for Krishna Consciousness, popularly known as ISKCON. And also the fact that most of the Hindus in all these countries originates from Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh and are the progenies of obligated immigrants or colonizers from Tamil Nadu, UP, Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha leads to spread of Janamashtami worldwide.
Till now, it is speculated that Janmashtami of 2017 will fall on 14th August but as per ISKCON calendar the Janmashtami is 15th August 2017 because they are purists who would consider the birth moment of Lord Krishna as the Janmashtami. And that would fall at midnight hours of 14th August 2017.
Krishna Janmashtami, also known simply as Janmashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. It is observed according to Hindu luni-solar calendar, on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the month of Bhadrapada, which overlaps with August and September of the Gregorian calendar.
It is an important festival particularly to the Vaishnavism tradition of Hinduism. Dance-drama enactments of the life of Krishna according to the Bhagavata Purana (such as Rasa lila or Krishna Lila), devotional singing through the midnight when Krishna is believed to have been born, fasting (upavasa), a night vigil (jagarana), and a festival (mahotsava) on the following day are a part of the Janmashtami celebrations. It is celebrated particularly in Mathura and Brindavan, along with major Vaishnava communities found in Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and other regions.
Krishna Janmashtami is followed by the festival Nandotsav, which celebrates the occasion when Nanda Baba distributed gifts to the community in honour of the birth.
