About VOICE Crisis Alert

VOICE Crisis Alert is a sickle cell disease (SCD) crisis tracking and communicating app with useful features that are easy to find and easy to use. Some of these features include a pain tracker, a pain history chart, and the VOICE My Crisis feature, which allows SCD patients or caregivers to communicate pain/crisis events to pre-entered contacts of their choice (family members, caregivers, healthcare providers, or friends).

App Features include:

•TRACK Your Pain - Your site(s) of pain, type, and severity are recorded along with the date, time, and attempted interventions. No pen, no, paper... just tap.

•VOICE Your Crisis - You can communicate sickle cell disease (SCD) pain/crisis events and details with your pre-entered contacts (family members, caregivers, healthcare providers, or friends). You select the method of contact, preview/edit the message, and send through the email or text capabilities on your device. Get the right treatment at the right time.

•Personalization: You can customize clothing, hair style, shoes, and skin tone to create your in-app identity.

•Runs 100% offline: All your data is stored locally on your device and you do not need to log in to an account to use the app.

•Personal and private: You choose how your data is shared with your pre-entered contacts.

VOICE stands for "Vaso-Occlusive Ischemic Crisis Event." Vaso-occlusive crisis, also called sickle cell crisis, is a painful restriction of blood flow and is a common complication of sickle cell anemia / sickle cell disease.

I wanted to use this app for my son but had the same issue as several others where I never got past entering the birthdate. I uninstalled and tried again and nothing, huge waste of time. I'm very disappointed

Saw the flyer for this app at a recent doctors appointment for my son talked to his doctor and thought it was a good idea to download. Being he's only 8 I had to sign a consent form that never wanted to download. Tried about three times nothing happened. Un in stalling now :(

I downloaded onto my phone, but I can't get past entering my birthday. I am 37 so why do I need parental consent? Was fine when I put this app on my tablet, just not the phone. Great app for Sickle Cell patients though.

As a patient with sickle cell, I've always been bummed to see a lack of options in tech when it comes to sickle cell disease. I saw this app in action at the conference in Miami and couldn't wait to download it. It's obvious that the makers of the app listened to what the sickle cell community needed and wanted. The app shows a lot of care, consideration and thoughtfulness. I love that my information stays private on my phone and no one else can get to it except for who I send the text messages to. I found it really easy to use, didn't even need the FAQ. I know the lady said it was made for kids, but even adults like myself will find it useful,. It's straightforward and intuitive, not too complicated to figure out. The colors are cool and really pretty. My kid sister had fun changing the clothes and shoes for the character. Even had Afro puffs! I've been using it for just a couple of days but it's so helpful. I filled out my health info under the Crisis Summary section and I like that if I have another crisis, I can just show my info, and not have to talk over and over, and over again to the same questions. Best of all, it's free! Who doesn't like free?
