Marriott International for Android
The app has gone downhill. All you can do with it is book a hotel room. They took out the visibility into your actual profile. Want to see how many nights you need to maintain status? Need to find your member number? Then don't bother with the app because it's no longer available here... Which makes absolutely no sense to me.
Performance of the latest version deteriorated. The service request is good however it no longer have a text description, it symbols showing the different types of towels are confusing. Either the check in feature does not work or the staff at hotel are not responding to check-in or special request which makes the app useless of the staff don't use it.
Have been having connection errors since the previous two updates so my reservations are not showing up. This in turns affect my ability to manage my reservations such as check in and such. Otherwise, everything else is working great.
After a recent update the app crashes every time I try to open it. Reinstalling the app had no effect. It is worthlessness at this point. -5 year platinum member
Badly designed with no feedback in mind. It invites you to formulate requests to the specific hotel you are in, but there is no way to say they have been fulfilled or cancel them (by the way my hotel did not see any of them). The Vienna Marriott invites me to chat through the app, but the Android version has no chat feature. Sad. More work is needed (what is finally the use of such apps remains a mystery, I can do everything via their website).
It's frustrating you can't manage your profile, view past stay info, or even get info on the details of the rewards program. Checking in and out are easy.
This new update sacrifices usability for artsy anesthetics. It used to be pretty well designed. Now it looks pretty but doing anything other than booking a room is a colossal pain.
Since the new app came out it has been laggy and crashes alot. Old app was better and more Stable
Iv ed tried to check in 3 times and it never works. Worked fine for booking rooms
Nice app. You can reserve rooms with few clicks wherever you are. It tracks your location and shows hotels nearby. You can manage your marriott points, transfer between marriott and spg. Very useful app particularly if you stay at Marriott frequently.
The mobile check in has never worked, always get an error message, no matter how up to date my app is
For an older version. This "new" app version is harder to use and is not friendly. Not easy to look or see hotels.
Sure can search hotels but can't make profile changes like update email or send receipts for past stays.
At the least an App is suppose to mirror all the functionalities available on website. This app is phenomenal. One line from me - it enriches your experience of hotel booking!!! Awesome!
Next to worthless the app has problems downloading current reservations.
Veteran traveler opinion here. It's getting better but far from perfect. Looks like they FINALLY fixed the issue of having to hit the search box 3 times in the middle of typing your location because it would interrupt your text for some reason(real pain when driving). I don't like the upcoming reservation as the first window, it's always showing my last reservation first when I have already checked out of that hotel. When I open the app the first thing I want to see is the booking page regardless of any upcoming reservations. Also for some reason I'm no longer able to view the pictures of the hotels in full screen and it always loads the pictures very slowly, I don't have this issue with the other competing company apps. Aside from that it's better and seems to be improving little bits at a time. I use Marriot, IHG, Hilton and SGP apps on a daily basis as I travel 90% of the year with driving being over half of the travel and flying the smaller portion of my travels. Since i'm the highest tier/level customer at each of these brands, I accumulate so much status that I can make top tier two times over with each brand every year. That being said I hope my opinion is valued over the meager wanna-be road warrior. Thanks!
Does not do anything else than opening the Marriott website. Can do that without an app. I dowloaded it because the description promised live chat with reception.
Huge issues as connection is never proper and bookings and details don't show up
App does not support Android tablets such as Samsung Tab S2

Mostly pointless. You can book fairly easily on it, and the room ready alerts are good, but the service request system simply does not work. I've tried different requests in different hotels and nothing is actioned, which is a shame because this could be a very useful idea, especially if they added room service, restaurant bookings, bill checking and messages. At the moment, though, I wouldn't really bother.
