This Best Car Repair Shop app is a guide for consumers to help them find good, honest repair shops in the Phoenix area. The list was started by Mark Salem in 1988. The list covers diesel repairs, mechanical repairs, paint and body repairs, transmission repairs and tire shops.

Mark Salem has been in the Auto Repair industry for the past 35 years. He owns his own shop in Tempe, AZ called Salem Boys Auto. For the past 20 years he has done radio shows both locally in Phoenix and nationally. People call in with car questions, Mark answers their questions or helps steer them in the right direction with their car problems.

After doing radio for a few years he found it necessary to start a list of good repair shops in the Phoenix area. People wanted to know where his shop was, but it didn’t make sense for them to drive from north Phoenix to Tempe to get their vehicles repaired. The first list was in booklet form in 1988. Then we moved it to our website and now put this list in app form for phones.

Many of the shops Mark recommends have been on his list since the beginning of the list. We know these shops are good and honest and will treat customers fairly. The shops must have been in business at least five years with the same owner, have a good Better Business Bureau rating, maintain current insurance and agreed to arbitration if a complaint goes to the Better Business Bureau. Mark backs this list by his personal guarantee of $5000.00. If one of his shops does not fix a car properly, the complaint goes through the Better Business Bureau arbitration process and they find the shop is at fault and the shop refuses to refund the customer money, then Mark will either fix the vehicle or pay the customers repair cost, up to $5,000.00. No other referral list does this.
