OctoDroid - 3D Printer Control for Android
I cannot get it to connect period. I can't see an AR code as I am not using a display nor do I now how to get it. IP and octopi.local do not work. Both OS and Octopi's user names and passwords don't work. Removing now and not watching for updates.
Pretty good, definitely beats trying to control the printer via a web browser. I can't wait until the webcamera is supported properly. I wish the temperature profiles were available in the app.
This application does not work with my octoprint server
Its a 4 star I mean Its good and all but were is me webcam support? I know that it is homemade and everything but were is the webcam??
Login into Octopi with browser and enable TouchUI, much better control than this app.
Overall best app for Octoprint! It give u notifications when print finished... and status on the notification bar!!!
very good
Does not allow me to connect to my Octoprint instance. There is no option for IP port selection or HTTP path. Useless. Will monitor updates and change review once this is resolved.
Why can't any 3d printing app load .stl files??? What's the point of having an app if you need a computer to generate the gcode for the printing app? Would be nice if this app was the first!
Works well for one printer, but doesn't support multiple Octoprint instances. I have 3 printers run by 3 Octoprint instances, could do with this if I've left prints running and need to kill one.
Non-beta features work well. Beta webcam feature is hard coded to retrieve from "http://" + mainActivity.ip + "/webcam/?action=snapshot", not getting the configured address from the Octoprint. Developer's GitHub is missing some assets.
It works with the current version of octoprint. Though it could use a UI overhall.
This app works well, but am I crazy or is there no option to exit this app? Having to go into app info and force closing OctoDroid is the only way I've been able to exit the app and close the notification. I hope this gets resolved. Also, webcam image remains blank in beta mode. Edit: option to disable sticky notification in settings.
Works great. I'm looking forward to a webcam function
Everything's great but the printing icon hangs and never goes away. Have to force close. Webcam image updates like crap, but overall works.
For basic control and monitoring it's OK but the UI could be better. Also, there is no way of dismissing the notification short of force closing the app, and clicking on the notification does nothing, it should open the app.
So far so good, but has camera turning options, but no way to view the camera.. Makes it much much less useful
Great app. I like this version better for control purposes than the other Octodroid app on Google Play. Edited my last review, since I wasn't aware you could only see the webcam when using Beta mode. Had to move recently, and incidentally, had to uninstall and reinstall this app to get it to work again, no biggy.
I can't see where to obtain the api, as this should be something that is needed to make the app work, seems odd that it wouldn't be something that is shown at a first glance somewhere at that it's as a step to run it, but that not to be found as like it is a secret and that you actually don't want others to have the ease of just running the app without some form of hassle.
Nice but would like to see some improvements
But the notification stuff is flaky on every device I've tried. Otherwise it's a nice remote for your printer.
Works very well, I would like a shutdown option!
The most handy tool ever!
Its a 4 star I mean Its good and all but were is me webcam support? I know that it is homemade and everything but were is the webcam??
Works fine en quick only the webcam (rpi cam) is not working and de extruder length setting can not be changed.
very good
Greag
Working good except thermistor readings are not showing for both the hotend and the bed... Prusa i3 and ramps 1.4 setup with OctoPrint 1.1.2
Cam works on the web but not with this app. It's a Logitech.
Automatic win when you're the only one on the block not reaming your users.
Needs a lot of polishing work. Keep up the good work.
I am getting a message about unsupported features because of the version of octoprint I am running but I am on the latest octoprint stable release version.
Hey Mario, First off, I just want to thank you for all of your hard work and making this app open-source and contributing back to the community. I love the app and its super useful. Is there any chance that we'll see multiple printer support though? I have 2 printers Octoprint and will soon have 3, I would love to be able to see all of them. Thanks, Dane
I have a Logitech webcam that works through the octo print web portal but not inside the app.
Ive been using this and its competitor and personally for me. This product embraces the open source nature of reprap considerably more. The app isnt interested in commercial gain and does everything you expect perfectly. The only reason I didnt give the app 5 stars is the "refesh rate" infervals arent explained clearly and the app still polls the webcam in the background (eating up 800mb of my 4g data. Opps!) Some UX updates and a Disable background webcam on mobile data option. You have a 5 star app!
Loving the web cam addition. This app is pretty much perfect for managing octoprint.
I have a tablet sitting idle most of the time in a docking station near the printer and was looking for something I could monitor the printer with. I needed something that supported landscape mode since that is how the tablet is docked. I would love to see future version that supports the larger screens of tablets and make more information available (larger font would be nice too) that takes advantage of this.
All vital basic functions works well, such as stop, manual control of motors, temperatures.
