MarineTraffic ship positions

I find it a wonderfully detailed & Accurate app, most information display by it is quit accurate wich is so helpful when preparing to film or photographing a particular vessel of interest. Although I hav encountered an enoying discrepancy of 5 to 10% on several occasions! Though this may be due to Reception/ Coverage Or ones chosen operating device's to use the app through.. I particularly rather using marinetraffic through a tablet or Laptop device rather than say a handheld but handhelds do- Gladly still premote great flexibility on alot of occasions I find!!

Wow!. Never thought that an app like this would ever come out. I love and enjoy anything to do with maritime shipping. I used to spend countless hours down Poole Harbour waiting for ships to come and go. Since getting this app, I know exactly what's coming and going. Very good UI and lots of information. Well done to the developers. Good job.

I love the idea and I want to love the app but the interface is awful. It would easily be five stars all round if it adhered to Material design and the payment/upgrade options were clearer. Currently it feels very Apple/Windows Mobile (the old one). Also, I can't see any Navy ships anymore, but I'm guessing this is probably intended/security limitation?

Upon upgrading Marine Traffic (after I paid for all the options on Marine Traffic already) without warning Marine Traffic app forces us to replace cruise mode with astronomically priced plus version (annual charge)of On Course app. Please allow us to download the previous version of Marine Traffic to protect us from being price gauged. I will make a complaint with Google on this. This company is dishonest and lets see if we can convince Google to take action against this illegal bait and switch activity.

Great fun! I use this app to identify large ships approaching the island where we live which have to pass a few hundred yards from the end of the pier. A majestic sight I'm pleased to share with visitors. Also educational to view the number of tankers transiting the Caribbean. Not sure what it means, but there sure are a lot of 'em. Very pleased with this app.

I downloaded the app because my daughter is on a transatlantic cruise right now and I was only able to see thw location thw first day. It's been 6 days and I don't know where the boat is. Totally worthless, wasted my money.

Unreliable at times, two week old info is useless. I need to know where my target vessel is so I can plan my work. When it's working, it's good. But I need it to work always. Would like to go back to previous version.

I must say that sometimes I get caught up on stupidity of idiots trying to bash others without basis or truth. It wasn't Marine Traffic that was at fault. I have android devices and they are as slow as...Well you know. I had the free version and I thought it was cool seeing boats and ships near me in the Gulf of Mexico. I now own my own boat. Now it's even more cool seeing boats and ships around me as I travel down the Tennessee River to the Gulf. I think these anorchist are probably collecting money to bend anyone from subscribing this wonderful app. I apologise to those at Marine Traffic.

Paid for and installed it yesterday.... worked fine..... then today it won't let me log in. Been to my desktop version and logs in fine. What a load of garbage. Cluttered with crap and not user friendly........ garbage

I now have Huawei mate 8 apps is lot Bretton use. I am using the Samsung galaxy s3. I am also having trouble seeing the ship names on the screen. Which is why I gave inly three stars

Paid for this app last year and worked fantastic. Having the boats ETA for work helps alot. Now after the update they want a large monthly sum to see that information. Thank you for taking away the features I paid for last year. Will be deleting this app now.

Used to be a great app but wants you to pay annual subscription for all useful features that I want to use it for. As a rescue officer and coxswain of an inshore lifeboat it's sometimes useful to use this app to see a position of a vessel and to pull up description that could aid me. Used to be so good!

Why would i purchase this app and it shows me nothing... None even the name of the ship in the port i would like to know... Whereas another app could show me the information free... I feel stupid by purchasing this app

Hello, I cannot register my account from the app. Have tried several times for several months on wifi, mobile data, even a ship's internet. Please can you assist?

This is an amazing tool to locate a ship in a coverage zone of ocean/ sea by the identities we know about the ship. Density of the vessels in a zone gives confidence that sailing family member is safe. We can explore wind movements & cyclones even.

App is now very slow when loading the map. Get black instead of blue for the sea. Also takes ages to load visible shipping. What happened??

As a captain on a tanker appreciating almost every aspect of this fantastic app.. I just wish the developers would add history of ships that are already scrapped.. This would make marine traffic the only great app!!

Very disappointed . Says "near real time data" but my ship has not been updated for 3 days! Worthless app.

For God's sake could you please make a variable parameter alarm.... The mobile push is nice but for those of us in the shipping business....it would be extremely useful to know when a ship is a certain distance away from a specific terminal. Otherwise great app.

Started out as great, useful app. Recently they've replaced AIS data with ads for a pay as you go service. I purchased this app for AIS data. You're cheating.

Bought this app yesterday and it worked brilliantly. Now, not a ship on the maps anywhere. So disappointed. That is why I really hate paying for apps.

Purchased an augmented reality addition for both iOS and Android devices. The map is off by at least 30 degrees. Shall be simple fix. Equivalent program for airplanes works fine. Please notify me when this issue is resolved.

As I live on the coast, this app gives me comprehensive information on the myriad of ships that sail past instead of wondering " I wonder what that ship is, where's it come from, where's it going to etc. Fascinating little app.

Marine Traffic was once my fav apps for monitoring vessel movement... but now... wasted app.

Useless app only dont give vessel in harbour what is the use of this app ,bad app

I work in the Oil Industry as a Marine Electrician For some reason this app doesn't pick up many of the boats my company has. It used to track them fine and one day it just stopped. I have to use the Find Ship app to start finding our boats so I can work on them. It used to work and was a good app.

Really very good App. I wish instead of offering a add-on-package at high cost the developer should give add-on-features to avoid useless expenses. The developer should go for more & more users at low cost.

Buy to see ship position live, but my ship position stay there ( the position already 1 days before) and it is not live update

FindShip free app is way much faster on info update. My 1st regret purchase in Google Play Store

Slow services

I still find it amazing even after using it for some time. I live near a shipping route and can spend hours watching the ships come and go with the help of this wonderful app.

This version works perfectly with Xperia Z3 compact and everything one could want from an AIS app. It is stable and very easy to use. I particularly like the weather display which works in conjunction with the ship positions. I gave an earlier version only 3 stars but this deserves 5 stars. Excellent!

The Ohio river is closed a tug boat and barges are wedged in the dam app shows nothing!

Buying it to see ships movement, but its not updated. The ships already underway or anchored but not showing. I paid MYR 18 and its not working. While Findship is a free app but working well.

Hassle free and very accurate.i am a pilot and I find it extremely useful in knowing vessel movement ,sequence of incoming and outgoing traffic. Vessel particulars and pic of ships are of great use for us. Thanks for the gud work keep it up.

They obviously want you to 'buy' everything. Greedy isn't the word. Hardly use it now.
