MapMyRun Trainer for Android
It describes the types of workouts if you don't know what they are (for instance a tempo run). It has a pretty good progression for improvement on workouts and gives u tips and advice. I wish for the tips though it went into more detail as to explaining why or how. I like to know the science of how things (or your body) work. I have the free version though so I don't know if it's any different for the paid version. It works for what I need but it doesn't knock my socks off.
Found this just in time to prepare for a couch to 1/2 marathon. I'm surprised by my progress and I like the plan for the remaining 8 weeks. I'm confident that following the plan will have me ready in time to finish with a decent time. It's a simple app but as a beginner I like it. I use other apps to track runs and diet.
It halts progress. It wants you to reach 5k by a specific time (either a month or two) and any extra amount of time you select it just tapers you back down and then up again to drag out the process instead of easing you in slowly in the first place. I don't know about you but after I've gotten to the point where I can run 15 mins straight with a 1 min walk I don't want to go back to running 3 mins with a 2 min walk. Really the only benefit to this is to link it with myfitnesspal and the like.
The training plans are great and the tips are very useful. Would be great if it would sync to the map my run or map my fitness apps so a run you complete with them is automatically ticked off your plan. Would also be useful for the plan page to automatically go to the most recent day particularly for a long plan where you have to scroll to the right date.
Very easy to use. Working the half marathon trainer. I like it so much I am going to pay for the upgrade.
I really like having a running plan and this app is really easy to use, but I wish there was an option to add recommended cross training exercises and strength exercises on the days off, and I wish there was a way to pick preferred rest days (like Sundays).
I like to see this integrated with Mapmyrun, mapmyfitness apps...when track is clicked...type of run and time should populate to the tracking application.
Good plans, knows how to push me but my new 10k plan doesn't show tips on running days at all. Also needs to sync with fitbit. I don't run with my phone.
Needs more flexibility and needs to sync to fitbit.
Very good, except can't link previous runs done through map my run back to it.
I love it! Currently doing the marathon plan over the course of a year and the progression from one workout to the next is just perfect, exactly the right amount of challenge from one to the next. I feel like I'm really achieving something. Thank you!
Challenges but is realistic. Just wish the app would stick to my long run days and the days u want to run.
I had to reinstall the app after I'd started training but wasn't able to backdate the start date, so couldn't continue using it.
I download the app, and when i was ready to start tracking my run, I hit "track run" (or whatever it says) then it said I had to download another app. So I downloaded that app, but then had to set up an account. That's a little too complicated for someone who grew up long before the time of smartphones. The app is probably fine but just frustrating to figure out.
The training was quite intense, now on the eve of my first half marathon with 3 months training behind me.
This app helped me get back in shape.
Enjoy this app. Easy to use. Would like it to link with fitbit. I would give it 5 stars if it had the link
Been really helpful. Holds me to account as my personal trainer.
This app has motivated me exercise.
Haven't used it very much might change my rating to a 5 if things get better especially with the Fitbit
I wish there was a calendar view instead of just the list view, and when I sync it to my Google calendar the text is too long to see how far I am running that day with out clicking on each on individually. I also personally prefer to run based on distance rather than time so I wish there was an option to create a distance based plan, but it definitely serves its purpose for training and maybe there is something to timed runs that I just don't know about yet.
It was what I was looking for so I like it very much
I really like the training plans and the workout summaries. I just wish the app would let you choose which days are your rest days as I work 12+ hour days on certain days of the week and need those to be my rest days and the rest to be my training days.
Easy to use, helps hold you accountable!
Gonna start the marathon plan today! I'll tell you how it goes!
I need to be able to set this to say, for example, "no runs on X day." It sets up your schedule for you, but doesn't take into account days that you don't want/can't workout. So I like the idea behind this app, but I need to be able to adjust the settings more for my needs.
Doesn't allow sync with my other running app from UA
Works well so far just started using it.
Excellent with the only exception being the occasional upgrade pitch.
This app should help me. Will post review in a month.
App has worked well so far!
I really enjoyed this app because it kept me on track for my run.
I like the daily tips. The plans schedule are in times and not distances and I kinda like that.
Great way to keep on track.
It's a good app to help you train. Would love to see UA add the ability to edit a plan.
Definitely helping me prepare for my half marathon in July 2016
I have been using it for almost a year and I am very happy with it!
It is a good plan.
Fun and user friendly

The bad: impossible to edit plan only make a new one. However making a new plan doesn't take in consideration your current progress. So you start with easy short runs. Also I have a bug that when integrated into calendar it shows miles instead of km. Another bug: I chose the long run to be on Friday but get it on Saturday! Still it's the best free app available.
