I rated this app 5 stars because it does exactly what I need it to do. I like the fact that it will still detect motion and record even if it is offline. If I could make one suggestion it would be to add a low light feature, maybe switching automatically. Is this something that will be developed in the future?

Disconnects randomly and doesn't connect again. Unreliable when I want to monitor for over 20 minutes.

The Camera position won't change like vertical or sideways on my Galaxy S7. Extremely annoying.

I use my old samsung phone in my Pick up to worn me.

by M####:

This is an amazing app and service. The only downside is that, on Android, I am not receiving any notifications from the App as viewer. Works perfectly at the same time on iPhone though weirdly!

by H####:

I wanted audio and video monitoring but didn't want to pay big monthly fee to home security companies. I had a spare iPod Touch lying around, so I pointed it out the window and installed Manything. Now I get alerts on the Manything app on my Android phone whenever someone comes to the door. Also, the optional sound detector will alert me if the fire alarms go off in the house or if someone kicks in a door. I can remotely switch to the front camera if I want to see what's happening inside the house. Pretty great! I use their 2-day monitoring service, which is a little cheaper if you buy directly from Manything.

You can take any old cell phone or tablet and make it into a video camera to watch the cat, dog, boat, or a door. I love how easy it is to set up. Thanks Manything!

M70%
by M####:

What I forgot to realize was the old phone you're using still has to be "live" ie: still connected to a provider which means you are still paying, I fail to get the advantage here, I don't have a drawer full of old phones that are still active. There are several no monthly cost nanny cams available.

Waste of time, doesn't work when app not on screen

Let's you use it for a few weeks, then turns camera off. Makes you need to pay for using it. Total crap

The best app for remote surveillance.

Used to be good. Now hardly works and they ask for money

M70%
by M####:

PLEASE NOTE! It is so easy, so simple and yet so effective. The app is very clear and appealing. All you do is download the app on your old phone and on the device you will view from and there you have it, done. Use IFTTT which makes life even easier, like connecting to you 360 account. As I leave my home the cam is activated. This morning I forgot to setup one cam in the house, while sitting at my desk I activated the cam and was good to go. Most of all you get great support from the team, thanks Rob!

Shouldn't need all those permissions to work.

Works intermittently. Doesn't detect motion from the tests I've conducted. Recorded videos are scrambled and appear to be recorded in three separate sections in one video file. This is garbage two years ago and still is. Good customer service number effort for support. +2 stars

M70%
by M####:

Very slow connectivity between viewer and camera, glitchy live feeds, and unresponsive user interface.

M70%
by M####:

The remote control for flashlight doesn't work with Android version. IOS works...

F70%
by F####:

Lots of bugs. It doesn't make any sound when the push notifications appear, sensitivity threshold 7 notifies you of even lower score events, stream is very low quality even on the highest setting and drops every couple seconds, unmuting audio doesn't work properly etc. And the mobile app doesn't allow you to go back in time in the stream. Oh and it needs access to Storage, Contacts, Camera and Microphone just to work as a viewer... Seriously? I'd prefer to use the web interface but Manything uses Flash there...

I don't often bother to do reviews but after a small problem which was tirelessly sorted out I feel I have to! Simply put I use a spare phone to keep a check on my pups while I'm at work, I have even subscribed for a mere £3 a month do 2 days video is stored in cloud. Great cheap alternative to cammy!

compare similar Apps, the resolution is only 360*480 and no night vision. only worked for 17 minutes then goes to offline. cannot be a trust security camera

It feels they have lost their way. There use to be a lot for free now doing anything but one stream costs, too much too. After all these years, I am uninstalling. Also slow to load and any iOS notifications stop it ( like software update).

I was planning to use this app a wit some phones at home but the problem now is that everytime we lose connection... I lost the camera and all the time I need to go and fix it manually... Certainly annoying

T70%

Works OK, good use of old cell phones. But, it doesn't reconnect when the wifi blinks out. I'm using it in our rv, but, I lose the wifi signal occasionally. I don't know if I'm missing something in settings, but if it doesn't reconnect than its not reliable.

Easy set up. I have Ring and it charge $39 a year. Keeps going offline. Will search for 3rd party cloud with reasonable rates. Will probably uninstall.

I am enjoying the app so much. It is a bit addicting to be able to see my dogs when at work. I however would like to see the android version updated to allow me to speak through the tablet I am using as the camera. I know the IOS version does this so it was sad to not see this ability on Android. Overall easy to use and setup.

T70%
by T####:

I have used this app for a few days now. Day 1 i loved the app and was happy to set up a payment plan. Day 2 day 3 i changed the settings to record motion only since then the app keeps crashing going offline, which is really annoying when ur not home so im not so sure weather to sign up now or not.

Works with my Nexus 10 tablet and iphone 4s, but I'd really like it to work with my old galaxy sii. Please? That's the one I hoped to set on a cabinet and use to monitor things.

G70%

I was searching for something to watch my pets live, but also give me the ability to save out clips to share with social media. Manything does that but unfortunately you need to pay in order to save out a clip. The website is not very clear on what exactly is offered. You are unable to go back in time at all on a free account, even if it's just a minute ago. I'm going to look at other options before subscribing.
