Salient Eye Security Remote

First of all this app is not free. It's cool for what it's worth but it's way too sensitive. I've only been at work for a 30 min and I have gotten 7 notices that the alarm has gone off because it is sensing movement of some sort. And also the motion detector notification doesn't make a sound on my phone. That's irritating.

Junk. If you are standing right there and set it up in the room, and nothing at all is moving ... anywhere in its field of vision for a full 30 seconds, it works great. It send you motion alerts, email you pictures, and so on...EXEPT once the tablet was fully charged it said "power supply disconnected" or something to that effect and that would effectively stop it from working, and it would have to be manually reset until the battery recharged again or if you unplugged it from a power source but of course now you have a time limit of the battery life of the device. To make matters worse, when I left the house to try to connect it with remote control, forget that. it would time out it would not activate, and it would say that there was a problem. If you could get a solid connection and attempt to activate it, and there was so much as a ceiling fan going when you attempt to activate it, will refuse to arm saying there was motion detected and would not start. (And worse that message does not show up on the remote control it was on the device I had to be in the same room to figure out what that problem was, which defeats the use of remote control in the first place. Sometimes the remote would not work at all. It would have been most helpful to at least have any more specific error on the remote end so I could at least troubleshoot what may be wrong in case it was something I was responsible for like the Wi-Fi connection Etc. I was completely unsuccessful either in the same room or remotely getting the remote to get the camera to do anything, besides throw up fail to arm or fail to communicate errors. Just for a note this is not junk equipment in.. I am using it was a Galaxy Tab S2 as the monitoring device remotely controlled by my Galaxy S8 Plus. I bought the subscription figuring it was my fault and was going to give it due time to test experiment and do whatever it took to make it work, as it showed great promise. However, I could not even get it to work intermittently by remote, and it was not reliable when setting it up manually (cutting off with power supply changes and so on. As such I cancelled my subscription during the 7-Day paid trial hopefully I will get a refund either way it's only $11 and a learning experience I strongly do not recommend and will continue to search for something similar that actually works consistently

The remote app appears to be strictly for viewing. It would be nice to actually control some functionality of the camera device such as which camera to use ie.. front/back, zoom, specify areas for movement and abolity to delete captured content. Works very quickly in same network, will continue to test from another site. I like the entire concept of utilizing the capabilities of other devices you already own instead of buying a new system.

Remote pics would not download. Had to turn off remotely and turn back on. And I bought the subscription. And any pics are in your browser history.

Very nice app

New user,been some robberies in my neighborhood. Need to be sure it works well when away from home. I gave it 3 stars because I'm a new user. I will say this,this app is so easy to set up, it is really easy. If I can I'm going to set up 2 more phones that way I have 3 cameras in my home. If it works well and continues to work with newer and older phones. I can't get SMS from old phones that are shut off or I'm doing something wrong. If it is because old phones are disconnected, I would like to see a work around

This app worked 100% of the time 2 years ago when I first got it. For the past 18 months, the remote app has had trouble connecting with both of my devices all of the time - one will connect, one sometimes won't. I hope this newest release fixes that once and for all - would rate 10 stars if it worked flawlessly like it once did.

I'm using my old phone as a cam, and it works great! Makes a loud alarm and send me a real-time notification with snap shots. Strongly recommended!

Ok so I have read most of the reviews and first of all my personal experience with this app is it works great. My phone's connect no problem 98% usually the camera phone is the problem. Too much movement for it to arm, when that happens I lay it camera side down on my leg or something until it arms and then I put it where it's going to be another reason it stops is it gets full and the last reason is the battery dies. It will do its job all night which is what I use it for. It's fun and everything but I think the pictures are hoakey​ I walk outside and stand right in front of it yet in the pictures I can't even identify myself even at 2' feet in front of it. That being said now I'm disappointed and it's not so fun nor trustworthy on accuracy. 4 stars for the entertainment this whole past week. :(

The "high sensitivity" mode is completely unuseful: it generates false alarms continuously. Getting pictures takes long time and does not work some times.

Works if you're on the same wifi connection. Going over cellular is not reliable. The remote thinks sunrise is a triggered event even on the lowest setting. For a paid app, not worth it. Takes along time to respond to problems encountered...

The main app shuts off on the camera phone. No idea why but they tell me they are working on it. When the app does not shut off the app, camera, & remote work perfectly. I've been in contact with developer but it's still not fixed and it's been over a month. I'd like a refund then a notification if it's ever fixed. I responded to them and they claim I did not have a charge when i clearly did. I still have not received my refund for this app. Anyone else have an issue with getting a refund? I am showing that I paid for this app yet they cannot find a charge associated with my email. I sent them a copy of my charges and it shows a charge but they can't find it.

Subscription pricing model for the remote software, I don't want or need to pay for a years worth. Sure it's fairly cheap but I only need it for 18 days. From what I can see, if you like it, you need to buy 1 year subscriptions only. Otherwise this software seems like one of the better security camera applications out there. There should be a 1 month purchase option for the subscription, honestly there shouldn't be a subscription model at all, preferably just pay another 5 or 10$ for the remote and have it indefinitely, but software developers have to eat and we all know subscription models work to their favour......

Tentative 4 stars for clean, easy install and setup. Initial tests show this app is competent, and it seems to work well. 12/12/16: Docked 2 stars for the online event page bringing up a fake splash screen proclaiming that my "device has been infected, yada yada..."

Changing from 3 starts to 1. Idea behind this app is great, however it doesn't work !! Taking pictures on request doesn't work most of the time, and remote arming/disarming also doesn't work often. For service you pay for I would expect it to work all the time!! Its frustrating, especially when I had a motion detected and did not receive any pictures.

The idea behind the app is great and the creators have worked to add useful features, such as the ability to control your camera remotely from another phone. Unfortunately, this feature does not function consistently and launching the camera remotely would work only sometimes.

In 2016 worked excellent. Been on vacation for past months in 2017 and now I need it the most and keeps failing. Contacted customer service 5 times and received on response that did not match my question.

No real time monitoring. Lots of other free apps out there that do this with using old phones. Un-installing app now. My old phones cannot send sms

I'm not so sure if this apps gonna be helpful for me or not coz the way I look at it was just junks of pix accumulating in my email. Motion detector it says, but the very first time I've tried it there was a foreign pix that pop out, what the,,,,,,!? Then asking me for a year of subscription? Excuse me, no comment about the price but the systems' kinda contradicting.

Changed to 1 due to CRITICAL FAILURE! Although this Salient Eye app worked great at home on my home Wi-Fi, upon arrival at my hotel it wanted me to physically touch the camera device at home 400 miles away before it would work. Absolute failure of remote app.

Worked fine initially but remote soon failed to make connection to camera. Fails to send notification email. Contacted via email no response.

My device gets hot when I tried it. I'm asking for a refund if I can figure out how.

Remote controlling works fine, starting, stopping and requesting picture. Would like it to have offline option with online uploading once it gets wifi again, that is: it allows for offline starting of surveillance. Would also like being able to adjust sensitivity and recording video and/or audio when movement is detected.

Honestly it lost a star because can't change settings remotely, it makes the annoying beeping during detection, and finally because you have to pay alot to see live video. If the price was slightly lower half star if more remote settings and sound thr other half.

Set it up paid for pro and then realized remote requires subscription, ok not too expensive but my trial expired before I could figure out why am I getting false alarms so what the heck.

Devices link but it cannot upload any pictures. Dud with a capital D.... now, let's see if I can get my $13.80 yearly subscription back.

Work great with old android phones

Would've given a 5 star. But to use another device as remote i need to pay R140p/y. And i didn't even get my 7day trail. Just downloaded and it tells me trail time expired. Gr8 app but can't use it.

I AM A BIG FAN of SALIENT EYE_ BUT I HAVE PROBLEM WITH REMOTE APP.___CAMERAS often DISAPPEAR from REMOTE SCREEN*,can RETURN, - but usually need RESETTING on the ACTUAL CAMERA__. CLICKING THE REMOTE BUTTON OFF : then ON AGAIN .This means visiting camera SITE which could be 4 hours journey away.!!!!!!!!!! EVEN WHEN NOT showing on REMOTE LIST, the camera REMAINs SET 'on', to trigger if intruder is there,_but you have LOST ABILITY to REMOTE Control THOSE CAMERAS or take PICTURE. . PLEASE ADVISE REGARDS. JOHN..

Downloaded today and tried using but states my trial us over and I need to purchase - what trial as I haven't been able to even connect yet?
