Mango Languages for Android
wowowo its very good I like it
Really good
I don't have any library nearby (india) .Though I saw that Japanese chapters are kind of interesting. Not like other apps where they only teach language here you'll give informations too - GREAT!
Great app that's brought my speaking level of Urdu way up.
Love it, my only issue is that the Korean course is very short.
Convenient and helpful!
(Tagalog learner) - I love the intelligent, yet simple, app design, but what really amazes me is Mango's didactic methodology. By far, Mango is the most practical application for foreign language acquisition, based on real life colloquial situational conversations.
Wado! My children, grandmother and I are all learning Cherokee together, and having fun in the process!
This app just keeps getting better and better!
Dear anyone comparing it to the online version: The online version is slightly better when it comes to the actual learning. But if you don't have a computer you'll have to use this. Still would recommend it.
It's pretty good that's were I learnt most of the Japanese I know some was from babymetal some was from hatsune miku some was from creepy pasta the rest was from anime
Lesson 1 is great, but I can't sign up to learn more because I'm not in the States. Bring it to the UK!
Hey mango I really like this app. I'm trying to learn Japanese (for anime) and I did the try it feature and I freaking loved it! It really sticked in my brain. So I tried to sign in but library card field (like many others) and I know what your going to say " tell your library about us" but your not listening; your just trying to promote your business. It is the card not the library. I don't want to give you my library card because I don't have one and I don't want TO get one. So I would appreciate it if you could make that field optional b/c I really like this app and I don't want to delete it off my phone.
I like all the notes that go along with lessons!! And how diverse lessons can be. I do wish, however, that you could preview individual lessons before you download them? It'd make transitioning from class-study to self-study a lot easier. Kinda funny, I've been downloading lessons and finding I already know all of it.
Did the "try it" thing and loved it. My library doesn't have this though, so I can't continue... so I'm just out of luck??? It sucks that you can't just use the app and enter your library card information anyways so they could use the info to see where they should try and get in contact with libraries.
I'm in the process of learning Haitian Creole, and this is by far the best language app I have found. Not only does it go into conversational vocabulary, but it breaks down the phrases very clearly, and teaches you the correct pronunciation. Mèsi anpil Mango!
Almost definitely the biggest variety of languages ever on a single app. They have Igbo (though no Hausa or Yoruba) as well as very hard to find courses such as Shanghainese, Tamil and Cherokee, and three spoken dialects of Arabic (not to mention MSA, which they also have) They have a few joke ones, like 'Pirate English', but don't be fooled, it's a very serious app and lot of fun even just to browse!
I was really excited when I found an app that offered so many different languages specifically Hawaiian since not many useful apps have it.However, I was really let down when I realized that the closest library was in the next city over. I also only go to the library in my school so even if mango was available in my city, I probably wouldn't be able to get a library card. I just wish it was less of a hassle to use this app.
This is a great app! Duoligo doesn't let me learn japanese and this way is ten times better! The only thing I would recommend is a review sheet of sort. It's hard to learn the kanji with out it. Still a great app!
so I was looking for a way to learn scots gealic and stumbled across your app. and have fallen in love after using your try it option. the problem you don't have a partnership with any libary in scotland....honestly kind of stupid if one of the languages you offer is primarily used in scotland! how are people meant to use your app if the only way for you to sign up is via a libary?
Went to my local library and told them I wanted to learn Korean so they recommended me this app. When I signed on, I tried using both of my local libraries and it is only showing 3 languages. Really peeved because I really wanted to like this
Love it, but only one problem: it takes ages to load. When I click on the app to open it, I always have to wait at least an entire five minutes for it to load, and that really sucks. I love this app and would hate to have to uninstall it, but if possible, can you please fix this?
Solid idea, but apart from the audio itself, the execution is lackluster. Basic options like hiding the text, or displaying more or less information in the target language (e.g., Japanese furigana or Hebrew niqqud) are non-existent. The phonetic transcriptions are wildly inconsistent & downright misleading, and more than once I've had to point out some obvious error or ill-informed decision that Mango's "team of linguists" had approved. Here's an idea: Fire them and hire me.
App is great! Individual subscription is really expensive considering you aren't taught how to read or write. I'd pay $5 monthly due to not being taught the basics but other than that the app is great.
I loved the way this app teaches things but I can not go get a librarie card because the next one available to me is five hours away. I cant a Ford twenty dollars a month or one hundred seventy five per year. So sadly I will have to delete the app.
There could be more pictures/ video but it's generally great. Lots of languages. My only complaint is it's not compatible with android multi window. Developers, please fix that!
More language options & control over swiping through more quickly if you prefer a recap at your own pace. So grateful my library has this. In addition, the lessons feel more functional & real life than Duolingo (even though Duolingo is more fun, like a videogame). I'm learning & utilizing more language skills with Mango.
I love this, not many apps will allow me to learn Hawaiian but I don't see why we need a library card to use it. I'd give you five stars but that library card thing is not a very good thing to ask for.
Very good app with lots of variety! This app definitely has the most languages I have seen on a language learning app. My one complaint is there isn't a lot of lessons with MSA which is a shame as they do a very good job teaching such a challenging language for English speakers
This is a great app! They use people from the native culture using their dialect. The features make it even better! - auto play, ability to record your voice and compare it to the speaker, replay options, color coded words, and more! Highly recommend
This is a review of the app itself and not of the Mango system, which is definitely five stars! The app is very smooth and functional, however there are 2 features that are missing that would cause me to give 5 stars. I mostly use Mango in the car on auto play. The first is that when auto playing, the words are not showing on the screen. So although I am learning words through sound, it would help if I could glance at the screen to see the spelling. The second is that there is no option to change the delay speed when cycling through slides. When in manual mode you can click through the screen. However when in auto play mode, it makes the lessons play quite a lot slower than I could be learning. Imagine being twice as efficient at picking up languages! Overall a great app, would recommend to all family and friends. Keep up the great work Mango!
It does not have option to learn English as ESL for someone who knows Hindi or Gujarati language. How is it going to work for learning just English as second language by itself?
I've never seen an app with so many options and such wonderful structure. It's exactly what I need. Hawaiian is a pleasure to learn. This is the only place I've seen to offer Hawaiian!
Mango gives Explanation of the word's origin along with grammar and culture notes, and that's usually unavailable on the same apps. It makes learning more Easier
It's simply amazing but....what if I don't live in the US or Canada? It's unfair...
Amazing! I've been trying to learn korean on and off for about a year, but nothing could make it stick in my mind. I downloaded basically every korean app on here, and nothing works nearly as well as this. I've been using it for a few days and I can actually remember everything I learned! 100% recommend.
Hello! I just downloaded the app and it is wonderful! It explains very well. However, I tried to sign up, but my libraries don't have mango languages. It makes me sad. :( I won't be able to tell my libraries about the app because it will be a bit awkward for the both of us and I'll look silly. Is there another way to create an account? Also, please explain to me why we need to use the library for this app. Thank you!
Really great app for learning how to speak a new language. It is not intended to be used for learning how to write, at least for the Japanese course. However, it is much more effective than other language learning apps for learning actual practical conversation.
So all around the world doesn't include South Africa. ....with 11 official national languages, considered a home to all languages. And your app doesn't allow free access.... btw $1 is R14 so I would need to pay R280 minimum a month for the use of your app...... A bit steep in this part of the world

Easy to use, good explanations, wide variety of languages to learn
