Wifi Hotspot Widget (NO ADDS!)

Does *absolutely nothing* on Android 7.0 except the "disabled" notification. It does not enable a new hotspot or disable an active one. ***UPDATE*** 9/19/2017: Installed 1.7. Still does absolutely nothing to either turn on or disable a manually turned on hotspot. The only action that I can see at all from the app is the gentle reminder to set a password for your hotspot after it is purportedly turned on (but not actually). Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (SM-G928A) running Android 7.0.

Intalled many apps before, none worked. 1st app works without any hassle. Thanks. Using Note 5 android ver 7.0

I tried doing manually through my galaxy note 5 built in hotspot app but im still getting the verizon plan subscription message, telling me i need to subscribe to a hotspot plan.

Simple, unobtrusive, it does what is supposed to do, toggle the Hotspot function of your phone on and off. It also turns your WiFi back on when you are done. No adds. I don't know if it turns the Hotspot off after a period of no activity (to save battery). Will try and report back.

Very good app, but you need some visual feedback. Need to change colour in two steps. 1. When initiated 2. When active. Then oppositely 3. When deinitiated 4. When inactive

Sorry man it is still not working, even with latest update it takes me to wireless network. My hotspot is its own category on Motorola Droid Z force.

It does what it says. One or two less taps to turn on my hotspot. However, there is a "hotspot has been enabled pop-up" with selections for "ok" or "don't remind me." When I clicked ok it took me to the hotspot toggle, and then hotspot would turn on with a little delay. When I clicked "don't remind me," it looked like the hotspot was turning itself on, but it actually wasn't on. Maybe I didn't wait long enough? I tried several times. I had to go into Application Manager and reset the app so that I would get the popup again. So it's actually two steps to turn on rather than just one. It still seems faster than without it. To turn off, I tap the icon, it takes me to the wireless settings screen, and I have to tap the built-in hotspot toggle again to turn off. Must be my old version of Android. I was worried by the note that it would automatically turn on my WiFi when I turn off the hotspot, but actually it doesn't do that, so that's good. I don't use WiFi. If you explain why I have to use two taps instead of one, maybe I'll upgrade from 4 stars to 5 stars. Actually, if you change your app info to explain that some people may need to leave the pop-up enabled, and click twice instead of just once, you may be getting fewer one-star reviews. You're welcome for the advice! ;-) Edit: It seems to function a different way each time I use it. This time it skipped the acknowledgement screen and took me to the hotspot toggle, but didn't turn it in. Last time I got the acknowledgement screen, and at the same time the hotspot turned on, then off, then on again. Sometimes it turns on then off, and just takes me to the toggle switch so I can turn it on manually. It's still faster than without, so not uninstalling. Just weird.

Does not work on Android 7.1.2. (DHCP is not started properly so devices cannot get IP address)

Good, does what it should do. Rarely does not work, I did not find the cause. Would like a viewable indication whether the hotspot is currently enabled

I use an at&t phone without a different network. I needed an app that would turn on my hotspot but this app failed to do that

Completely useless. Blackberry Keyone. Does not work whatsoever.

Installed & tested on Moto G2 with Android 6.0, Marshmallow. Does EXACTLY what I want. Tap to turn on hotspot, tap to turn off hotspot

It's pretty cool, the only thing I would change is the color of the widget, when the WiFi is on.

does what it says. And, you need to start tethering manually the first time you restart the phone.
