About Screen On Toggler
Screen on toggler is basically a replacement tool for the default search button on your android phone when you long press it. It allows you to quickly toggle your screen's timeout from always ON to your screen timeout's setting and vice versa.
Once installed, press and hold the search button on your android phone and a dialog will appear. Then select screen on toggler to toggle between always ON and your original screen timeout setting. You may also set it as the default action when you long press your search button, but it is recommended NOT to set as the default action, so that you may use it in conjunction with other search button replacement tools such as Wifi Toggler (also by me). You may clear the default setting for Screen On Toggler by going to the Manage Applications area, select screen on toggler and scroll down and click on the "Clear Defaults" button. This should restore the selection dialog when you long press the search button.
To restore the timeout setting to your original setting, you may either touch on the screen on toggler icon on your android's notification bar OR you can long press your search button and select the screen on toggler again, to toggle it. It's that simple.
Thanks to all who have given their feedback and bug reports so far, I hope the latest release (v1.43) would have fixed all the issues that you guys out there are facing. If you still encounter issues, do let me know and I'll try my best to solve it ASAP. Cheers.

Although the settings look great and easy, no matter what thing I try, this keeps setting my screen timeout both to ON and to 30 Seconds, which is the factory default for this LG G4 Android phone! It completely FAILS!

If you select to only show notification when running, it won't auto start with boot. Otherwise, perfect and my battery lasts over 2 days even with this running. Samsung galaxy tab p1000

Toshiba Thrive My true rating: 4.5 stars There's not much that I can say bad about this app. It works great on my tablet. However, there are two minor things that I don't care for. One is the fact that the settings are so close to the ads. That makes it too easy accidentally hit the ad instead of the upper most setting. The other item is the background image of the hand and light bulb. Why not just have a black background like many other apps have. The picture sort of disrupts away from the settings.

Almost had to reset to factory thanks to a bug in this setting timeout to -1 - instant. Luckily I had an nfc tag that reset screen timeout to a normal value. Not sure how else I could have remedied, as uninstall via play store website didn't reset the timeout. Rendered my phone useless for a day. Update 6/6/14... problem still happening despite recent fix.

Great app and when you long press the SEARCH button the Voice Search that comes up works better than the standard built-in Android Voice or Google Voice search. I said TEXT JIM and right away I got the options to do that, rather than the shaky Android or Google Voice Search leading me off on a wild goose chase.

Great if you use your phone on a bicycle as a GPS and you need the screen to stay on. And the great thing about it is that is doesn't change your regular timeout settings. So when you are done, you can go right back to whatever power saving mode you had the phone set for. Awesome!

I am a relative newbie when it comes to smart phones and could not figure out why my screen would dim out all the time without touching it which is sort of an OCD habit after a while! This app cured the problem. I simply press the otherwise useless magnifying glass button and my screen timeout toggles on or off. PERFECT. Would have given 5 stars if I could purchase through Google Play because I don't use pay pal.

This app is just what I needed for my Nexus 7. I use it a lot for recipes and my hands are wet or covered in food so I can't keep tapping the screen. This simple screen on toggle is priceless. No bells and whistles, just does what it says. I love it.
