I like bitcam for what it does but it would actually become much more useful to me if it allowed greater control over what formats and sizes images are saved in. When you zoom right in you can see the pixels get compressed and aliased and you lose a lot of the sharpness if you resize the images up to bigger sizes. Saving to bitmap would be ideal. Compression shouldn't even be considered for such images since they're so small and have so little color information anyway.

X70%

Produces some cool photographs, but the app is incredibly slowly. Even just initialising the camera to take a photo takes upwards of 30 seconds.

...but it saves every picture upside down. It would also be nice for the "HD" setting to have an auto mode since most filters don't seem to make any sense in an object close-up without it..

Love the effects, but when I manage photos, such as delete photo inside the app, it will stop.

If not in HD the pictures are completely blurred and unrecognizable, but like the app so far can't wait for more filters like 32 bit?

so fun and useful

The filters on this app are some of the best I've seen, but there was a bug that forced the image to be upside down no matter what setting or option I tried. I unfortunately had to replace refund the purchase. If this is ever fixed I will definitely purchase again. (Nexus 5X)

I would like to have more basic camera options. Like image size is too small & there is no zoom. If the dev would add these basic features it would get 5/5 from me.

This looked fun and just what I was looking for, but unfortunately it hangs and crashes every time on my xperia z3 compact

I didn't know I needed this.

Its sad but the compression used for the final output is adding so many artifacts to the image that the images cant really be used in social media. It is embarrassing compression that does not deter the sharp edges created by the paradoxically beautiful imaging algorithms. The images also come upside down which forces you to rotate them further destroying them.

Awesome graphic concept. Only problems with the app in my end is when picture saves, it saves vertically inverted and when I delete it it crashes. Please fix. Using Boost Moto G

In fact this app is quite poor. I experience so many crashes and bugs. This should really be fixed!

great selection of gritty pixelicious styles. the preview doesn’t always match the final result 1:1 but i'm getting used to it. going to generate some juicy game assets i think...

I can't describe how much i love this app. I love how i can use my phone as a gameboy camera and i like the c64 and win98 effects. Amazing!

does exactly what it says perfectly. If you want awesome pixel art out of your photos, then you will think this app is amazing.

Only one problem :why all pics are saved upside down? Also can't be possible to have bigger size images?

Y70%
by Y####:

The app has some odd behavior. Rear camera does a vertical inverse flip when the photo is saved. Front camera is fine. The preview looks great, but quite a bit off when the photo is processed and saved. Lastly, when shared or viewed after sharing the source photo, the picture is tiny. On the NES setting it seems to just blow up a very low resolution photo. Could use some work for a paid app.

Great app for some fun, but remember, after a while you are gonna get tired of making 8-bit photos.

I think this app is on the right track however, there are still too many small bugs. - the aspect ratio of the preview is not right, so you see something different than the result - the previews often need me to disable then re-enable "HD" to really be HD (they are not well I am scrolling through all effects, especially for "pixels" effect - the app mirrors horizontally my back camera's pictures and not my front camera's pictures. It should be doing the opposite. If these can be fixed, then 5 stars !

Nerdstalgia Cam is the best app of this kind. Unfortunately it doesn't play nice with newer phones. This app is an okay replacement. I still miss Nerdstalgia's filters though.

Not even half as good as Nerdstalgia Cam Nerdstalgia Cam is the best app of this kind. Unfortunately it doesn't play nice with newer phones. All this app does is make me pine for a version of Nerdstalgia cam that works on the GS3. Well, it can only get better, right? The NES color palette is wrong for one thing...
