How can you make a app about North Korea without having a section dedicated to how amazing the kims are? the dear leader and the great leader disapproved. And I think us capitalist pigs should know more about the dear piggy Kim Jung un. And you should definitely add something about them wonderful prison camps that we Americans just can't stay away from

Just as a window into the weirdness that is North Korea, this is valuable. Whether one should actually visit (as I'm tempted) is another matter. Perhaps a detailed listing of do's/don'ts/safe behavior is warranted.

Although I have not been to DRK yet I really enjoy using this app to know a bit more about the culture and history of this beautiful country. Would love to visit it one day

Great apps, would be good if the map worked offline so you could see where you are. I understand why that might be restricted though.

Incredible amount of info

One important thing for an app to be useful is to be well-designed, user friendly and accurate. If this gets topped by the fact that the author is a well-respected expert on North Korea and has travelled to and guided numerous tours through the country, an app goes from "useful" to - well, "excellent". Highly recommended!

This app goes well beyond normal guidebook short descriptions of places of interest and useful phrases (though it has these too). Informative opinion on the ethics and safety of travel in the DPRK are included as are details of what you can expect from a trip to a country where tourism is supervised. With this framing the guide still conveys the beauty and interest of the country through great photos and descriptions. The innovative linking with tour companies to allow bespoke trips is new and impressive.

Very easy to use app offering a fascinating insight into North Korea for anyone wishing to travel there or just looking to get a feel for life inside this hidden country. Lots of images, reviews and simple tour planning created by people who really know the country which helps enormously to reduce the hassle of organising travel to somewhere so notoriously secretive. Would like longer reviews in places, you've got me hooked, I just want to know more!

This app does an admirable job of reflecting the highlights of North Korean culture, while bearing in mind the precarious political issues concerning tourists. The content is well informed and current, full of good advice for enjoying the tour experience while staying out of trouble.

My sweet, sweet dog bumüfka was in the midst of the battle for his/her life with doggy polio. We were out of options– exhausting all American veterinary clinic's resources. I read on friendster about an experimental treatment specifically for dog polio being practiced in North Korea. With little hesitation I purchased this app and was on my way to the unknown land, bumüfka in tow.... The good doctors of North Korea killed my dog but I did meet my wife! Thanks app and thanks North Korea.

Easy to navigate menus and high-definition full-color photos provide a strong representation of a wide array of aspects of the country's society and sociocultural background. Full biographies and tips on tourist spots, factories, dining and entertainment venues are available, along with advice for planned visits. In addition, a comprehensive set of short essays from the creators and some experts are available for the DPRK's social, cultural, and historical structure. Perhaps most beneficial for potential visitors is a basic phrasebook. Menus are easily navigated on Android via simple button menus. Unfortunately, as another reviewer pointed out the map system currently does not function, but this is the only error I have located thus far. Overall, an interesting and well-constructed app that is worth investigating even for individuals with no interest in visiting the country.

The app is great and includes major sights such as different factories but it lacks the option of making yourself available to be kidnapped and taken as a hostage. Add that and you'll get the fifth star from me!

Excellent app, beautiful design. A must for anyone intetested by this complex country.

Though they are an adversary to my government, the thought of traveling to the DPRK has always been in my mind. Now, I'm finally able to obtain in depth knowledge and ease myself of culture shock once I finally make my journey. This app appeals to all those interested in the DPRK, and I highly recommend it.

I found this app very informative. Its easy to use, written from an unbiased western perspective, and would be essential reading for anyone planning a trip to NK. I wish there were travel apps as good as this for more commonly visited countries!
