Lutron Caséta & RA2 Select app for Android
Can I set a timer on switches not an on-off timer but on off timer 20 minutes after it's manually turned on it turns off. So that when the kids leave the hall lights on they turn off. ...... If not the seems like an easy thing to add to the app no ?
I just installed the dimmer/switch and the bridge and they all work well along with the app. It works with Alexa very well with little issue. One problem I have with the app is that I xan find no way to turn off the light in a given schedule. Right now, I can turn on the lights to 30% at 5.30am, Monday to Friday with no problem. But there is no way to turn it off in the schedule. You have to do that manually. Still playing with my setup, but the app is very good.
New upgrade is horrible. Completely messes with the way it works with Alexa.. have to say the name of room first. Doesn't allow you to reorder lights, for some reason asks multiple questions about purpose of light and then forces you to rename if another light has same purpose. Have thousands of dollars of smart home technology in my house, used to love this, now I want to switch.
I am ok with the functionality of this app... but i am disappointed to see that they took away the ability to have your own picture for a backgroumd or ability to select colour scheme. The app is really not appealing visually.. actually its so generic... that once you invested a small fortune into caseta devices as i have you should be able to make this device interface as cool or as bland as you like. Not only should you be able to make your own background but you should be ablr to take pictures of your own lamps etc and make them your icon buttons. The current round circles with stick drawings are simply a lack of imagination on the apps teams part and if this was a result of the team leaders trying to control branding like many companies do.. shame on you. You have clearly shown that through corporate branding another team on this planet has lost insight on what is fun and inspiring to anything that resembles human creativity. Please put yhe app back to the way it was.. this wasnt an upgrade for me... it was a disappointment that made the whole product less enjoyable and distinctive to me. The app is now mindless and overly simple. People who buy home automations are not mindless and simple so why take us to that level. By the way.. seriously disappointed that the lutron hub doesnt work with my harmoney remotes as advertised. Tried everything and this is the only device i have that just wont connect.
This version of the app is sluggish and has errors when adding devices.
Love it works like home automation should! I just like the fact that the switch operates the home automation. Not some add-on box at the receptacle or at the light bulb
Great app!
Easy! Convenient!! Reliable!!!
The app mostly makes sense and does what it should. I'd appreciate if it was more robust and faster at connecting to the bridge on start. As-is it takes ten seconds and frequently fails without explanation even under outrageously good network conditions. I haven't tried voice assistant integration.
Update broke alexa integration by adding new "room" option to the front of the light name. OVERHEAD LIGHTS became LIVING ROOM OVERHEAD LIGHTS in alexa. Non of my LIGHTS work by their correct name anymore. Please fix ASAP.
Do not upgrade to the 5.0.1 it sucks!!! U used to be able to open the app and operate your lights and your schemes from 1spot. Now they're all separated what a pain.
It will be very helpful if you actually add a Timer to Automatically Turn On And Off under the schedule. Just being able to turn them On it's not much of a help.
Went from mediocre to bad with thus update. Takes over a minute to reconfigure each dimmer for a room. Rooms don't provide any significant benefit and all the steps required for each device will drive you nuts. RENAMES YOUR DEVICES and you can't read your longer names in the UI anymore. CANT REMOVE A ROOM from a device. Still no dark theme, so it still blinds you at night. Can't access a Pico preset button. Come on Lutron, just open up the S-MQTT protocol and let a competent developer come up with a decent app.
I have radio ra2 and doesn't work, you should enable support for that bridge. Plus you won't supply the software to program the radiora2 bridge....throwing in trash as it it useless...
App is pretty good but everyday it crashes when i open it after inactivity. Once opened it forgets my app setting of arriving and leaving the house. I removed and reinstalled the app but still no luck. I hope you can help me or fix this bug.
I'm looking for more automation. The app can now turn lights on based on Nest Protect. However, perhaps when nest goes into auto-away a scene can activate. Or when it returns to Home a different scene can activate. More control with the programming of scenes. Can Caseta detect a double tap, so I can program a switch for multiple functions. If I double tap my foyer Pico off, it runs the All Off Scene. If I double tap on it runs an all on scene. Or a timer, If I turn the lights on and its daylight, Off in 10m
The latest version of the app is slower and less reliable. There's now a lot of loading/saving time and edits/adds seem to fail about 50 percent of the time for me (tells me to try again later). While the room groupings and extra choices when adding devices seems cumbersome, I appreciate the potential for customization and personalization these descriptors add. I would like to be able to perform low/high end clipping and manage the ELV vs MLV dimming through the app rather than using the cryptic physical controls on the dimmer switch. Would also like to be able to set user defined delays for turning lights off for greater customization. Overall, it's the best solution out there, but needs to be continually enhanced to stay ahead of the competition.
The new update has made the Alexa integration completely unusable. How did this get past quality assurance? Do you do no testing before releasing a major update?
Used to be able to see a photo of our home and had a lot better visual user interface. Now it is "upgraded", however all of the interfaces that I was used to using seem to be gone and I'm not sure where I can group rooms together as I can't find any of these options at all!
Every time I sign into another system my geofence stops working and I have to uninstall the app then reinstall it to get it to work again
Good app and connects to the Ecobee. No problems connecting from home or outside the home. Please make the room organization optional. It's a lot less convenient for us to flip through multiple tabs for just a few lights.
It would be nice to have two houses until one account.
Wow, v5 so much better looking interface <3
Thanks a lot for adding schedules makes the app a lot more useful!!! but would be nice to be able to use with Google Now
Excellent now having groups like family room etc so you can find devices by room
Password is too much of a PITA
Love this app, works great with my Google home
Meh... V5.0 is a bit nicer than the prior version, but it's not a great leap forward. It's a more organized UI, and the "schedules" bit looks promising. There now seems to be away of organizing things by room. But rooms feel like it should be a slider like devices/scenes/schedules, no tacked at the top of devices. You still cannot create a scene that can be turned on and off -- why is this? I love the Lutron smarthome approach, I just wish (a) their dimmers worked better with LEDs (sometimes they work, sometimes they flicker) and (b) that the ap would allow more intelligent control of the display: 1. List my devices and scenes in alphabetical order - I named them for a purpose! 2. Provide a way of adding an individual device on the homescreen as a simple toggle 3. Get rid of the non-standard check mark submit button on the configuration. 4. Allow entire rooms o be turned on and off without needed to create scenes. 5. Why under TYPE are only a partial set of light icons listed?
Great app! About time for a refresh! Would be nice if I can change transparency for the widget.
Very useful, but caseta needs add a keypad an hybrid a to the lineup
This app could be (and should be) so much more intuitive.
Organization in 5.0 is greatly improved. Nice update
I miss the being able to add a picture of my home, or whatever I wished. Also would be nice if I could program the center button of my pico to do whatever I wish. (Like start my favorite music on Sonos) Almost feels like the app was downgraded to make the more expensive lighting more appealing...
This app is really good and works well, very reliable. Only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because it is a bit limited and basic, it doesn't support any kind of programs or activities and it's not possible to customise it. I really wish I could change the photo at the top to one of my actual home. Also you really need to support multiple accounts, I have two homes and I use Lutron only (ONLY Lutron is allowed in our homes!!) so wish I could use both from one phone!
What's up with the v5 roll out? I'm still seeing the old version from June, and I have the newest android os. Ui matches nothing which the pictures show and is still old and clunky with many bugs.
Easy to setup lighting schedules. Easy to use app and all connected to reliable dimmers and switches. Hard to resist adding more devices over time.
This app is very reliable. We have now installed approximately 20 Lutron switches in our home. We love it. I would like to ask, why can't I use voice commands on my Android device?
Love it, Just wish the 50 device limit was lifted. We are maxed out in our house.
Did don't get the app it so bad

So far much better then the wemo switches I have. Works well with Google assistant and responds much faster. Less then 1 second which is crazy. I also like that the 'scenes' you create within the app show up in Google home unlike many programs. Great solution for areas where your lights are wired in the middle of a circuit and there is no neutral present. Another great thing is that the switch itself isn't huge on the back. I struggled to get my wemo switch into my houses old 1950s Conduit, but these fit easily. App is simple and works well. Overall great product.
