Lutron Home Control+ for Android
Didn't work with Asus ZenFone 3 Laser, couldn't find any system, of any.house ever
So I will admit - that I do design & program RadioRA®2 systems so this review might be a tad bit biased. But I run this system in my own home & office. And even though I have keypads all over my house that I use all the time. Sometimes it is just easier to click the app on my phone and do what I need to do. Yes - I guess it is a bit lazy but after a long day at work - I just want to relax. This app allows me to do just that. Works perfectly on my Samsung Note II. Not sure why you have to pay for cloud control, are you guys really that hard up for cash Lutron? And your GUI is not really that sophisticated, you have had a large head start on the other guys, time to clean it up and make it nice. Intuitive is the word, my grandma should be able to use it the same way I can.
App now does not cause my radiora 2 to lock up as much, anymore. The need not to enter a user name and password is a bit odd though. Also, why does it ask to fix issue with networking?
Updated 1/30/2016 Took away another star based on the response below. The fact is on this thread you claim port forwarding is supported and to call support for details. When you call support they tell you it is unsafe and they will not support. Also Lutron has a document on port forwarding that leaves out specific details on how to set it up. So if you have a document on your web-site that says it is supported and it does work but leaves out specific details on how to setup then Lutron is being very disingenuous. The truth is you are trying hard to get users to subscribe to a very expensive service with a lousy paid for app on top of it. And please don't come back and say it is supported until you have revised your document on port forwarding showing step-by-step on how to implement this. After a week of back and forth with Lutron they finally provided the missing details from their Remote FAQ Document on how to implement Port Forwarding. So I've revised the review here and raised from 1 Star to 4 Stars. It's too bad tech support didn't take my initial inquiry and just provide the info that I was asking for. If they had I would give them 5 stars.
Great App, great service, latest features recently released with 8.0 software really complete what this app. **edited** now that the app is free it definitely deserves 5 stars. The $60/year remote access subscription is completely justifiable if all things are considered.
Makes controlling my RadioRA 2 system from the couch a breeze and Lutron was quick to fix a bug report.
Ok, so after paying thou$and$ for your system you now want users to pay $60 A YEAR to access the system when they are away from their home! Athis app isn't revolutionary with amazing UI and killer features... this should be free! Just an example... only have to pay $250 for a NEST thermostat and remote access is free.
The app works fairly well except...if you try to remove a light from one of the key pads you will send the main repeater into safe mode and it won't be able to save your changes. You can add a light without any problem. You just can't remove them when you've added them. The app needs a fix for this.
Won't work
It works all the time.
Each rev gets better.
Reading the reviews it seems like you guys may have amateur programmers working on your systems. I also doubt that you are aware that when the ISP pushes updates it can effect the repeater. I've had ATT Uverse gigapower reboot and lose my repeater. The 20$ I realize is a license per user account. It's sad that so many people in this room apparently never had any other smart home items installed. Ip Cameras, RTI, Creston, Hai all have license fees per and some per item. Static IP will cure what ales you.

Having paid many thousands for a RA2 lighting control system and then being charged $20 for this really amateur app (twice, once for Android and once for iOS), I would have been highly annoyed with just that. But on top of that issue, the app is so poorly designed and built that it's practically unusable. Did Lutron have a couple of summer interns write this app? Editing Areas simply doesn't work. The app doesn't know if lights are off or on in a given Area, and then won't save changes. Editing events and verifying that they work is no better. And then Lutron wants to charge a fee for "remote access". Had I known that the software behind Lutron RA2 was so bad, I certainly would have chosen a different system.
They charge you for a buggy app, unbelievable! Update: multiple tries to contact them. The whole concept and business model of Lutron is ludicrous. Super expensive system and I can't change the time for a light to go on or off. The app doesn't work properly on android.
Only using this app till I get a real full automation system in. If all you want it lights, blinds and other stuff Lutron can control this works.
Great App, great service, latest features recently released with 8.0 software really complete what this app should have always been able to do (add/remove loads from kp buttons). Would give it 5 stars if the app wasn't $20.
Used for troublshooting and set up of field installed Lutron systems. Just add youf own access point and trace any job any light in the system. Saves hours of work.
I am a Lutron system designer, programmer, and technician and this has made these systems so much more cooler than they already were.
The application no longer reflects status changes for actions in the app when on Wi-Fi. It does reflect such updates when connected over 4G. For example, if I turn a light off by clicking the off button, the physical light turns off, but the dimmer slider in the app remains at the same percentage as it was before I turned the light off. If I change to a different room then come back, the change is then reflected. This only happens on Wi-Fi, not on cellular.
The app no longer tracks status of controlled devices. When activating a RA2 device from my Galaxy Note II the load does turn on or goto the slider setpoint but the status feedback does not update. I'm sure Lutron will address this fact quickly and push an update shortly. RadioRA2 Inclusive 8.0 HC+ Version 6.1
This system should be using something more sophisticated than telnet. Telnet is unreliable and slow. For what we pay for the app and the system I'd really like to see some modern integration. Often with this app I have to send commands very slowly because if I press a button too quickly it just drops the request (for example turning off Eco mode and increasing the temp without waiting 15 seconds in between)
Like the program, but don't like the fact I have to buy for every device I want it on. That gets real expensive, real fast.

Constantly have to reinstall, events setting doesn't work, robbery price but have to have it.
Their iOS app works fine. This fails on Nexus 7, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Xoom, and Galaxy S/2. Huge fail. They haven't fixed it in years. Don't buy this.
App is ok but a little sluggish
After I updated this app, the favorites screen upon startup is no longer able to be saved. Also, when I start up the app, the "areas /rooms" screen is the default start up screen regardless of what I set as the favorites screen.
Constantly have to reinstall, doesn't take favorite setting, robbery price but have to have it
Great software, must have!!

Since updating QS to 7.0 and updating the app, keypad level editors are gone. Also some wall box switches show up as "misc" devices. One shows as a Pico.
They took this feature out simply to charge a yearly subscription fee. Unacceptable!
This new up date took away my right to access remotely. Where's username and password blank??!! I can't forward to my own server any more?? What's going on now?
Only worked on one of three android platforms I tried. Doesn't work at all on Nexus 5 (can't find system). Partially broken on HTC One X (no overflow). Even when it does work, UI is primitive and just duplicates wall controls. Unbelievable that they charge $20 for this sloppy and half-assed app.
Little limited on editing from the app itself but if installed programmed correctly by installer alleviates most of them. And you can port forward with Lutron so you dont have to buy $60 a year service. I've only had to use that service with one customer because he was behind a double nat and his ISP won't give me a public address.
This app is flaky. I tried to use it in the losers connection and when I try to connect it won't connect again.
app works ok however limited. Perhaps some simple programing options would be nice. Remote app annual fee is ridiculous. Really after spending 20,000 you are gone to charge me 60 dollars a year ......really?.

This is review is for version 9.6.0 of the app and version 9.4.0 for the QS OS. This app is a bit disappointing on a few levels. The navigation is organized according to either function (shades, lighting etc), or location (a given room that's on a given floor). The user sometimes has to navigate through a few levels to get to things that are close. A simple improvement to the navigation would be to use the same connectivity between rooms as you have in your actual house. So say you are in the master bedroom, having a quick choice to go to master bathroom, master walk in closet, or hallway. Instead you go up a level which might be a floor which might have a bunch of areas. For a while I could add time based events in the app but that seems to have disappear in this version, and the only remaining option is to change things that were defined by the installer. It used to work to find the controller on the network in app. Now I have to add IP and login manually. The installer tools are decent. But the whole model of having all this flexibility but relying on an installer to come back and change which light circuits a given button controls feels .
