About LostNet NoRoot Firewall Pro

Learn which apps are chatting via Internet behind your back. See which countries they send your data to. With simple and effective LostNet NoRoot App & Geo Firewall, you'll stop all communications that you don't need!
WIth LostNet Firewall you will be able
- to block Internet access for any app. Choose between full Internet access or access only in Wi-Fi networks or no access at all.
- to block access to any country/region for all your apps. Don't allow your apps connecting to the countries you don't trust or don't want to deal with.
- to block background activities of your apps. Surprisingly a lot of apps generate traffic while they are in background mode. Decrease your data consumption by blocking these apps.
- to protect your device from known malicious networks and web sites (malware shield)
- to block ad networks. As LostNet Firewall intercepts traffic from all apps, it is capable of removing traffic to certain ad networks.
- to block untrusted/suspicious apps in your office network (BYOD solution for business). All apps are able to scan your office network and access unprotected resources such as, for example, shared files. In order to avoid this, block your untrusted apps while in the office network.
- to block your apps during night hours. Save your data and battery life by blocking traffic generated by your apps while you are sleeping. It also helps to avoid noisy notifications that may wake you up.
- to capture packets sent to and from your device with the sniffer tool and to analyze them using CloudShark.org. Learn details about the data your apps are sending.
- to monitor amount of data consumed by apps. This information is extremely useful if you don't have unlimited data plan. For example, compare background data consumption by Skype, Viber and Whatsapp to choose which one is better for your data plan.
- to track the countries your apps are connecting to. Helps to detect suspicious apps and spyware.
- to create multiple profiles in order to switch between specific rules for different situations. Profiles can be very useful when you want to set different rules while you are in roaming or for example when your children use your Android device.
- to save your battery life. Most of your apps perform periodic activities which bring your wireless connection on and, thus, drain your battery really fast. LostNet Firewall can block these activities.
- to switch on/off instant alert notifications. Get notified when a blocked app tries to connect to Internet or when some app tries to connect to a blocked country.

I was aware that some of my apps were sending more than log data to the developer, but little did I realise the extent to which data was requested and obtained by countries that one would not expect. This app does a good job of blocking requests and the level of security control available for each app is remarkable. I don't know how a mock VPN works, but what it suggests is that no-one but the user of this product can gain access to information on the handset. A really good piece of kit.

This firewall seems to work and definitely improves battery life. Not sure what app is stepping on what but sometimes firewall gets stuck and blocks most or all net access. Main interface refuses to load for app restart. May require phone restart. Occurs on LG V10 w/ Android 6.0.UPDATE: Giving this another try Because I like this app...hoping for better.

I was looking for an app that would allow only a select few apps to use my cell data, others to only use WiFi, and the rest to not even use data at all. This fit the bill. It was more than I expected. The paid version even has ad blocking ability and up until this point I thought the only way to do that was by rooting your device. I gave the app only 4 stars because every once in a while, the app will hang and prevent all other apps from connecting to the internet. To remedy this issue, you need to restart the app to get it working again, Only once had I needed to reboot the device. All in all, this is a really good program and I would suggest it to anyone who wants to block ads and want to better control your data. It gives you complete control on what programs and when you want you want them to use your data.

6/6/15 HTC EVO 4g LTE 4.1 os. Still exploring, but like it so far! After having used it for some time now, I find it goes a long ways in helping with security and privacy. There is a reduction in data use depending on how you set it up. The experimental features are very helpful. And this app helped me find one app that was a security risk. Highly recomend. Note: if you have another app that uses the local VPN on your device, then do your homework on how this works. Some comments are just ridiculous. This app works as advertised! 3/3/17 And this app still works just fine. HTC m9 6.0 os. And for most of you, it should be OK too. Don't let the last update stop you from trying it out.

Firstly, I have installed this app not long ago and it is great! I do find it is missing an important feature, where I should be able to mute notifications per-application (or even per-application + per-country) instead of having to switch all the notification off entirely. Other than that, this is an awesome app!

I jumped right in with the paid version and I'm surprised by the amount of *activity* that's going on in the background that I didn't know about! I've used NoRoot for the last year and loved it but found that setting up global filters was tedious. So decided to try something new and this app does the job. It's easy to setup and it's finding activity in apps that weren't being blocked before. It's doing a great job!

I absolutely love this app. Not only do I have the ability to block applications but restrict to data or wifi only. In addition to the geographic location blocking. After installation it allows me to see which application tried to access the Internet which shouldn't have.

Ok...for 99 cents this firewall app is a must have. It has shown me what apps are up to no good. Honestly this app is worth a LOT more. The developer shouls seriously consider picking back up on it. I would pay $10.00 for this app in a heartbeat. One of the truly most significantly useful if not necessary apps ive ever seen for Andriod.

Seems to be working fine when I'm at home, but any time I'm on cellular nothing will load! Pandora won't work, chrome won't load anything, and so forth. Super annoying and makes the app all but useless to me.

C70%
by C####:

I am only giving this app 3 stars because I have to shut it down to open the Drudge Report, to go to trusted web sites, and to use my weather app. I do like the fact that this firewall stops my apps from bringing ads and keeps my private information private. I just wish I could leave it on all the time.

Embarrassing that you have to redo ALL setup when you buy the pro version! But the product it selv works quite well. Especially the block when background is good. The UI is not exactly perfect but things can be set up... Annoying always-on notification icon even on pro version :( ...And does not work with K9-mail send even if all allowed...

I would love this app, if it didn't block Blue mail consistently, my standard mail program. Everything is set to allow all connections, but no luck. All other apps are allowed. Now I cannot use it at all. Please look into this!

I tried the Free version back in September of last year. $.99 is a SMALL price to pay for this level of PROTECTION!! I can not BEGIN to thank these dev's/creators ENOUGH. Stop TRUSTING all of these apps folks!! Turn the BRIGHT lights on um!! SEE what is REALLY draining the performance in your phone!! Today I was SHOCKED to discover the "sweeping cache cleaning" app SUPPOSEDLY helping my phone was THEE most DRAINING app I had. Smh. Wake up folks.

Very, very good. I have some issues with particular apps not getting an internet connection, but nothing major. 1. However, if I click on a Notification message to open the app, I can't get to the Dashboard. If I click the back arrow in the top left corner it takes me to my Home screen/desktop. 2. I have paid for the Pro version and I gave it 5 stars. I DO NOT want to see "Please say thanks and give us 5 stars !" at the bottom of every activity screen. I paid to not see those types of messages in the app. I have therefore deducted One Star from my original rating. Next week I will deduct another one and so on, until this is rectified. Edit: just realised this app hasn't been updated for nearly 3 years so I don't hold out much hope of my little protest having much impact. I'm amazed it actually works at all on Android 6. I'd better be grateful for small mercies I suppose :) I hope the developer gets back to it: the ad blocking and country blocking is excellent !

Used non pro version before. Both great but high memory use. Maybe some filter cleaning and optimizing will fix it. No log option can improve performance. Please make it liter.

It keeps turning off, why? I'm uninstalling, perhaps i dont know how to perform the right settings, my device is android 6. It doesn't work well with Adblock, which was installed at the time I installed it. I uninstalled Adblock, then re-installed it again, it's working fine now...

Just seeing the number of transactions with sites across the globe was worth paying for the pro version! Realizing how inherently exposed my personal information is has changed the way I think about and use my smart phone. Using this in conjunction with Greenify to shut down inactive apps has made my phone much more responsive. And the battery lasts longer.

Dont do more than 1 profile its gona misbehave. requests from Dev please: 1- make (block all) toutchable to block all app's then we unblock what we want. 2- change internet location reporting. 3- when uninstalling app should be removed from all lists. 4- needs imediate update to make more stable Dev, not responding at all.

1. It refuses the wi-fi speed by 100 mbps. When I turn it off the speed is significantly high. 2. It does not work with samsung screen mirroring. 3. Keeps stopping the internet connection. You need to restart the app for it to work.

Just started using this and it appears to be a good app. I am losing my internet connection occasionally but this may be due to poor connection in my area. Will continue to monitor this app and may update my rating in the future. Further comment: I am fed up of constant badgering for a five star rating. I have already rated this app. 22 Nov 15 Update: periodical loss of internet connection persists whilst on line, have tried using different router and server but does not help. Will reduce rating to 3* but continue to use app as it is still the best I have found (when it works.) Please sort out this problem and I will review my rating.23 Nov 14 Update: after reading all reviews it would appear that loss of internet connection happens frequently. Come on guys sort out this problem, it has been reported many times in the past. 02 Dec 15 Update: STILL LOSING INTERNET CONNECTION FREQUENTLY. Internet works perfectly with Lost Net disabled. Unless this is sorted I will be forced to uninstall. Comments please. 10 Dec 15 update. Internet glitch persists, do you guys ever read feedback? 11 Dec 15 update: No response to feedback or E-Mail, APPLICATION DELETED!!

This stupid app will freeze your internet connection on all of your devices. Installed this stupid piece of $#%+ on 3 separate devices and guess what? This thing locks up more than a correctional officer during a race war riot!! Don't believe me, try it for yourself.

It's a good firewall, especially if you want to block some countries. But there's much room for improvement. I don't like the UI. And here's the worst thing: You can't save and import/export configurations. That's not acceptable. Anyway it's the best non root firewall for android besides Mobiwol.

Love the ad blocker and malware blocker. A couple of things that could do with being added. A way to see which servers each app is being blocked on. Also to be able to allow certain apps to connect to blocked countries. For instance Google play connects to China so if i block China then often Google play comes up can't connect. Also app crashes on every start up. But awesome work so far

I'm sad that the Android OS doesn't have this functionality by default. This app does a great job filling the requirement nonetheless. Next best thing would be an unlimited data plan :)

I was initially impressed with this app so I bought the paid version. Email is a problem with it. It has not been allowing emails to be sent. Based on other reviews, I am not going to waste my time trying to get this problem resolved through the developers. This is one problem I cannot simply ignore so I went back to the free NoRoot Firewall. Overall, it is worth more than one star but the email issue makes the app completely worthless to me. Update: I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Set it to allow everything, no apps blocked, no countries blocked. Tried to send an email, it would not send.

Finally somone has developed a real Firewall Product... That is so customizable for the advanced user, or just plug-n-play for those who know how vulnerable their devices is and are not technical.. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. AND I SHOULD KNOW... I'VE BEEN IN TECHNOLOGY FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND NOW WORK AS A CONSULTING "C|EH" (Certifed Ethical Hacker) for many Fortune 1000 companies and also the "DHS" in the USA.....Keep up the great work.
